Chapter 377 The Five-Year Agreement
After Juniper shared her idea, Christopher smiled and objectively said, "We currently do not have a large-scale entry into the lower-tier market for dining. The idea you provided was also mentioned by the board a few days ago. However, the board thinks that pre-made meals are trending and wants to focus on that. Quinn, what are your thoughts on pre-made meals?"
Juniper analyzed, "Most fast-food restaurants in malls use pre-made meals because open flames aren't allowed in malls. But such dining brands will quickly lose their core competitiveness."
"Their food lacks the real aroma of flame-cooked dishes and can only add a type of flavoring. Consumers, even if they know the truth, still eat there because there aren't many clean and tasty restaurants for them to choose from, so they are forced to eat pre-made meals."
"Jenny's favorite sandwiches from that place in Southern City are probably made fresh by hand, right?"
Christopher replied, "The shop in the south of the city is an old one. The owner and his wife, who were born and grew up in Southern City, get up at four or five in the morning to make them. The pre-made sandwiches from other places can't compare to theirs."
Christopher paused and then pondered, "That's why he has so many faithful customers. Every time I send Jerry to buy, he has to wait in line for a long time. I had thought about buying their shop, but once such small shops are acquired, many things change. What people are buying is a sense of nostalgia."
Juniper said, "I've been in Southern City for so long and found that the food here is not only delicious but also exquisite. It's normal for Jenny, the little foodie, to stay here because of the good food and not miss her parents."
"So what is your proposal?"
Juniper seemed to have made up her mind, "Dad, I want to slightly modify Southern City's specialty dishes and bring them to the Imperial Capital. The Imperial Capital has all kinds of restaurants, but the popular ones are mostly barbecue and Mexican food. This type of exquisite cuisine currently doesn't have strong competitors."
A flash of understanding crossed Christopher's eyes, and he smiled, "Quinn, after all that you've said, are you trying to get me to give in and let you go back to Imperial Capital?"
Juniper was slightly stunned but didn't deny it, "Dad, if you ask me if I have any personal motives, it's hard to say I don't. But this is a project, a business, and I wouldn't joke about it. After you see my detailed project plan, if you think it's worth a try, give me a chance."
Christopher didn't oppose it. Whether for public or private reasons, he would eventually let Juniper go to the Imperial Capital.
"I've just reunited with you and originally wanted you to stay in Southern City to spend more time with me. But as I said, I hope my daughter can have her own world. I'm willing to let you go to the Imperial Capital, not to get married."
"Now that Ronald and Karen have returned to Southern City, there's no one from our family at the Imperial Capital branch. I originally wanted to transfer you there for some experience."
"The idea you proposed tonight seems fine to me. You can manage the branch in the Imperial Capital and explore new fields. The road ahead will be tough, but what can we do? You are the heir to Windsor Group. Dad isn't old enough to enjoy retirement yet, nor is it time to hand over the reins to you."
"Quinn, I give you five years. In these five years, you can try and fail as you wish. The projects at the Imperial Capital branch will be entirely up to you. I won't look at short-term results or interfere with your projects. The first step to establishing yourself is learning to fall and get back up. This is what you need to learn from Magnus."
For some reason, Juniper's eyes felt warm.
She teased, "Dad, aren't you afraid I'll lose everything and go bankrupt?"
Christopher, half-joking and half-serious, said, "Then rise from the ruins and rebuild. Quinn, this is nothing for you. You once weren't even afraid of death. Your courage is far greater than you think. Once you know the rules of the game, it's all about whether you dare to play and how ruthless you can be."
Juniper said solemnly, "Then it's a five-year agreement. It's a deal. But Dad, I want to start the restaurant project independently. If it really grows big later, we can merge it into the group. So, consider the investment money as a loan to me."
Christopher recalled the past and couldn't help but smile.
This wasn't the first time she "borrowed money" from him. Before they recognized each other as father and daughter, she borrowed money for treatment when she went to Celestia for her lung disease.
She promised to pay interest, and a year later, after making the "Harper" account popular, she really paid him back with interest.
At that time, he thought Juniper seemed dignified and serious, but her methods were quite impressive.
The next morning, the factory office phone received several customer order cancellations.
Karen gritted her teeth, "Levi, did you tell the customers we couldn't deliver on time?"
Levi, self-righteously, said, "Ms. Abbott, you and your assistant have been watching us closely. We've been working overtime like crazy, even during holidays. Since our production line has issues, we should slow down and fix internal problems first! If we take those orders and can't deliver on time, won't we have to pay penalties? I'm just trying to..."
Before he could finish, Juniper suddenly changed her previously good attitude and coldly said, "Levi, you and your team can leave our factory now."
Levi was obviously surprised, raising his eyebrows, "Are you serious? If I take my team and leave, you won't be able to hire people by the beginning of the year!"
Juniper didn't hesitate, "I'm serious. Take your people to the finance department and settle your accounts. Now that the orders are gone, there's no point in you staying here."
Levi, having been "flattered" for days, was stunned by this sudden blow.
He looked at Karen in disbelief, still not realizing the seriousness, and said with a smirk, "Ms. Abbott, your assistant must be joking, right?"
Karen snorted, "I'm pretty sure she is serious. Oh, I forgot to tell you, Juniper is the biological daughter of the CEO of Windsor Group, and the future heir of Windsor Group. Do you think she's joking when she tells you to leave?"
She had long been displeased with Levi. If not for the bigger picture, she would have fired him on the first day she came here!
Levi looked at Juniper in shock.
Juniper slowly said, "Mr. Morgan, I heard StellarWorks Inc. offered you and your team double the salary to join them. We don't want to hinder your future. You can take your team and join StellarWorks Inc. anytime!"
Seeing this, Levi dropped the pretense, "Don't regret it! I'll take my team and leave right now! Let's see how long you can last!"
With that, he left, cursing.
Karen watched Levi's back, frowning, "What if StellarWorks Inc. really takes them in?"
