Chapter 147 Straightforward

Juniper looked in the mirror at the faint light green birthmark just below her shoulder blades.

In fact, she didn't even know about this birthmark before. She rarely wore backless clothes, so she hardly paid attention to it.

When she first started dating Magnus, he was so caring towards her that he refrained from touching her for a long time.

They had a long period of "Platonic" love, where he would hug and kiss her but never went further, yet he was familiar with every mark on her body.

Including this faint light green birthmark on her back, which he was the first to discover. Juniper was hesitating whether to buy this dress or not, while Ophelia had already taken a beautiful photo of her with her phone.

Admiring the picture, Ophelia suggested, "It looks really beautiful, go for this one! Or should I send the photo to Mr. Blackwood for his opinion?"

Juniper blushed, snatching Ophelia's phone, "No, he wouldn't understand these things, I trust your judgment."

Ophelia glanced at her, smiling, "Getting shy now! So, what's the situation between you and Magnus now? Are you back together? Planning to get married?"

"No, I'm just staying by his side now to repay a debt."

Ophelia hooked her shoulder and asked, "And what about after a month, will you split up again?"

"Yes, from then on, I'm just Jennifer's mom, and he's just Jennifer's dad."

When it comes to relationships, from the moment of infatuation, one must be prepared to bear the cost of a broken heart.

She wasn't a robot, after struggling in a relationship for so many years, she couldn't throw herself into another relationship without reservations.

Her relationship with Magnus had been a struggle for so many years, and the result was always unsatisfactory. It seemed like they were destined to miss each other. Perhaps loving too much, the fear of losing, made it unsuitable. Juniper compromised and gave up, unwilling to touch relationships again.

Talking about relationships is a game for the brave. And she couldn't play it. Ophelia sighed, "Feelings, marriage, it's fine to get involved but never fall in love. Whoever falls in love first, loses."

Juniper looked at her and smiled faintly, "Are you developing real feelings for Mr. Brown?"

"Not at all. I mean, come on. You know my mom, and my dad has many lovers. I've been asking my mom to divorce him for ages. Guess what my mom said?"

"What?" Ophelia raised an eyebrow, mockingly, " My mom says that even though my dad has many mistresses outside, she is still his legal wife. As long as my dad doesn't mention divorce, it means he still has feelings for her. She thinks my dad is pretty good and family-oriented. She always says she maintains this marriage for my sake. Nonsense! I want her to hurry up and divorce. Every time I see her serving my dad at home like that, I get annoyed and argue with my dad. I help her scold him, and she still says I'm not sensible, asking me to apologize to my dad. Isn't it ridiculous?"

Juniper had always known that her parents' relationship was not good.

She didn't know how to comfort them. Although she didn't agree with Ophelia's mother's submissive attitude, she could understand the mindset of that generation.

"Your mom has probably been a full-time homemaker for too long and doesn't even think about divorce. For her, that home is everything she has cherished and cared for with all her heart. If she were to divorce and the family fell apart, she would have nothing left."
Ophelia sneered, "You're absolutely right. Her own marriage is a mess, yet she pushes me to have children. What's she thinking? According to her, as long as I have a child, even if Robert is a philanderer, he won't divorce me for the sake of the child, and my position in the Browns will be secure. She even says having children is for my own good. I always ended up being angry when I talked with her. I don’t even want to go home now."

"Your mom just talks casually. Don't take it to heart. Besides, do you want to have children or not? It's your body. Only you can decide."

"That's true. I won't have children anyway. Bringing a child into this world would be a tragedy. Men wouldn’t stay for the sake of children."

Jenny, quietly sipping her cola on the side, picked up her small phone while her mom chatted with Ophelia, secretly took a beautiful photo of her mom, and then silently sent it to her dad!

Inside a black Maybach car.

Magnus came out of the sanatorium with Ava.

Just as they got into the car, his phone buzzed, receiving a message.

"I don't want to go to school: [A photo]

In the photo, Juniper was wearing a white nightgown.

The photo was taken from a side angle.

The strapless gown, with its fishtail design outlining her slender waist, though thin, was well-proportioned, with an excellent waist-to-hip ratio.

Her hair seemed casually styled, long waves cascading freely, the ends brushing past, revealing a hint of her bare, beautiful back.

Bright and charming.

But it may expose too much skin.

He looked at the photo, his gaze slightly darkening.

Jenny sent another message: [Dad! Mom asked me to ask you if she looks good in this outfit!]

Magnus's brow twitched.

He replied with two words: [Not really.]

"I don't want to go to school: [Dad, Mom was right! Your taste is awful! I think it's very beautiful! I won't ask you next time!]

Although he said it was just okay, the man tapped his long finger, saving that photo to his gallery.

After a while, the phone vibrated again.

This time, it was a text message from the bank

[Respected Mr. Magnus, this time you spent 270,000 at XXX...]

He looked at his phone, a slight smirk playing on his lips.

Ava, sitting beside him, saw Magnus smile, and curiously asked, " Magnus, are you texting with your girlfriend?"

Magnus responded, "Yes."

Seeing the rare smile on his face, Ava felt a bit relieved.

As long as he and his girlfriend were doing well, she would never reveal that secret.

Meanwhile, at the Golden Shopping Center.

After Juniper bought her evening gown, Ophelia dragged her to pick high heels.

Jenny also liked high heels. At the counter, her chubby little feet clumsily walked around in adult high heels, holding her phone to take selfies in the mirror.

Both Juniper and Ophelia were amused by her antics.

Juniper spotted a pair of silver, delicately sparkling high heels with a row of pearl and diamond buttons, a classic and gentle style.

Perfect with the white gown.

The sales assistant asked, "Ms. Beaumont, what’s your size?”

"Do you have size 37?"

"We have one last pair."

Juniper was about to say she'd take that pair when suddenly, a female voice sounded.

"I’ll take it."

Patricia pointed to the shoes.

The sales assistant looked hesitant, "But, this pair of shoes was first chosen by Ms. Beaumont. Would you like to look at other styles?"

Patricia glanced at Juniper arrogantly, "She hasn't paid yet, right? So anyone can buy them. How about this, I'll pay an extra ten thousand."

Michael also entered the store, furrowing his brows, "Patricia, don't be ridiculous!"

"Michael."
