Chapter 391 My Wife (2)
Although Electra was spoiled, she was very straightforward. "Sure, I'll ask my dad to talk to the school leaders and add a seat. It's just an extra set of utensils!"
"Electra, you're really generous!"
Electra didn't donate much money, but she had a good father.
As for Clio, she couldn't rely on her father or herself, yet she wanted to meet some elites.
For example, she wanted to hand her business card to someone as important as Magnus, or see who the woman standing next to Magnus was.
She was extremely curious.
Back then, she befriended Juniper just to get closer to Magnus.
Once, Juniper borrowed a theoretical book from Magnus and never returned it.
She secretly took the book, slipped a love letter inside, and returned it to Magnus without permission.
In that love letter, she expressed all her admiration for Magnus.
She thought that if she was as bold as Juniper, even if Magnus didn't accept her, he would at least think highly of her.
After sending the love letter, she anxiously waited day after day.
But a week later, she accompanied Juniper to the cafeteria to meet Magnus.
Magnus, holding a tray, sat across from them as if nothing had happened, listening to Juniper chatter and occasionally passing her a piece of meat.
He didn't even glance at her.
Only she felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.
To this day, she still didn't know if Magnus had ever opened that book or seen the love letter inside.
She agonized over it for nearly a month.
The matter ended without any resolution.
Juniper seemed unaware that she had written a love letter to Magnus and continued to eat with her frequently.
But if she were Juniper, she wouldn't have cared about the Clio of that time either.
Back then, Clio was pale and plain, standing next to Juniper, she was just a backdrop, making Juniper look even more lively and beautiful, posing no threat at all.
She even hated it when Juniper pulled her arm.
Juniper's skin was smooth and delicate, while hers was rough and dull.
Every time Juniper linked arms with her, the stark contrast in their arms made her feel so insecure that she wanted to pull away from her grip.
Juniper looked fresh and fragrant.
But back then, Clio looked dark and dirty.
Over the years, she worked hard on her skincare, went out fully protected from the sun, and her skin gradually improved. Although it couldn't compare to those with naturally good genes, she no longer looked so dull among the beauties.
With exercise, dressing up, and minor adjustments to her facial features, as Juniper said, Clio was now a beauty too. Naturally, at evening dinners, people would notice her.
The fact that Juniper didn't recognize her at first today was the best proof.
In the first-tier lecture hall, the lecture had ended.
Students were leaving the lecture hall one after another.
Juniper stood at the back row, waving at Magnus through the crowd.
Magnus was about to walk over to her, when Eugene came in through the front door, smiling and chatting with him. "How was the lecture? I saw the students were all very enthusiastic and engaged!"
Magnus smiled teasingly, "Mr. Bailey, next time don't drag me into these temporary gigs. A two-hour lecture without prepared material is really tough."
"I think you did a great job improvising!"
Magnus smiled helplessly.
Eugene grabbed his arm and suddenly lowered his voice, "I need a personal favor."
"What is it?"
"My daughter is almost thirty. Since she went to study in Celestia, she's stayed there doing research. Now, she's finally coming home for the holidays. Can you meet her? Get to know her?"
Magnus was taken aback and then laughed, "What do you mean, a blind date?"
"You rascal, why make it sound so bad? It's the modern era; who still does old-fashioned blind dates? Do I seem like that kind of person? This is about networking for you young people! Making friends and expanding your social circle! If she meets a talented young man like you, she might be happy to stay here instead of running off to Celestia for research!"
Magnus flatly refused, "Mr. Bailey, I'll help you find other talented young men."
Eugene, being a straightforward person, showed his fondness for Magnus openly, "No need to find anyone else; I've got my eye on you!"
Magnus raised his left hand, showing the platinum ring on his ring finger.
He smiled, "Even if you like me, it won't work. I'm married."
Eugene thought he was making excuses and didn't believe him, "Married? Are you kidding me? How could I not know if you're married?"
After all, a platinum ring doesn't prove much.
Magnus patted Eugene and nodded towards the back row of the lecture hall where someone was waiting for him.
Eugene adjusted his glasses and looked seriously, "Who's that female student?"
Magnus's gaze fell on the slender figure, and his lips curled into a smile, his eyes also showing a hint of amusement. "That? That's my wife. Pretty, isn't she?"
