Chapter 387 School Anniversary (1)

When Juniper and Magnus arrived, the school gate was already crowded.

It was difficult to drive in, so they parked at a nearby open-air parking lot.

Ophelia had just arrived as well and said she would wait for her at the registration desk.

A volunteer at the gate led Juniper and Magnus to the registration desk.

Just as they were about to reach the registration desk, Magnus's phone rang.

The caller ID showed it was Eugene.

Eugene repeatedly invited Magnus to his office, saying he needed his help with something.

Magnus looked at Juniper, "Want to come with me?"

Juniper didn't really want to go, so she said, "Ophelia is waiting for me at the registration desk, and I don't know Eugene. You go ahead and talk to him; we'll meet up later."

Magnus reminded her, "Keep your phone on so I can find you later."

Juniper liked peace and quiet, and her phone was almost always on Do Not Disturb mode before bed. She often forgot to turn it off the next day, so her phone was frequently unreachable.

She smiled, "Got it. If you can't reach me, just call Ophelia. Her phone is always on."

Only then did Magnus feel at ease and headed towards the administration building.

Juniper had just arrived at the registration desk and hadn't seen Ophelia yet when a surprised female voice called out to her.

"Juniper? Is that really you?"

Juniper turned her head and stared for a few seconds, not recognizing the person immediately. She didn't dare to speak hastily for fear of making a fool of herself, so she just smiled politely.

The person saw her and exclaimed with joy and excitement, "After all these years, you haven't changed much. You're still so beautiful!"

Juniper searched her memory for a long time, finding the woman familiar but unable to place her.

"Excuse me, you are..."

"Me? I'm Clio! Don't you remember?"

Juniper was a bit shocked. After matching the face, she looked carefully for a long time before the person in front of her slowly overlapped with the outline in her memory.

Clio spun around in front of her and laughed, "I must look very different from what you remember!"

Juniper honestly said, "I almost didn't recognize you. You look very beautiful now."

Receiving Juniper's unreserved compliment, Clio's lips curled up slightly, "Back then, I was just a plain girl, both plain and chubby. We lived in the same dorm, and you, a natural beauty, standing next to me made me feel so inferior! All the seniors I had a crush on liked you!"

Juniper, always good with words, smiled and said, "They must regret it now, missing out on a beauty like you."

Clio blushed with embarrassment, "Did you come alone?"

"No, I'm looking for my friend."

Just then, Ophelia ran over with a camera, "I've been around the school once, why are you just getting here?"

Juniper replied, "I woke up late and dawdled a bit."

Ophelia gave her a mischievous look and whispered, "Dawdling in bed? How was it? How many hours?"

Juniper almost choked and wanted to cover her mouth, "Ophelia, don't make dirty jokes in public."

Ophelia stopped joking and urged her, "Hurry up and sign in so we can walk around the school and take some photos."

Juniper looked at the donation code, hesitating, "How much did you donate?"

Ophelia replied, "Five hundred dollars!"

The minimum donation was two hundred dollars, so donating five hundred dollars was quite generous!

Juniper took out her phone, "I'll donate five hundred dollars too."

Clio, standing nearby, also took out her phone and scanned the donation code right in front of Juniper and Ophelia.

She donated ten thousand dollars.

She signed her name and the amount in the donation book.

Ophelia couldn't help but exclaim, "Rich people!"

A hint of pride flashed in Clio's eyes as she looked at Juniper, "Juniper, your friend looks familiar. Can you introduce us?"

"Clio, this is Ophelia. She was in our year, majoring in journalism. Ophelia, this is Clio."

Clio suddenly realized, "No wonder, I remember she used to come looking for you often."

After getting to know each other and signing the donation book, Juniper and Ophelia were about to leave.

Another familiar face appeared. "Isn't this our school's beauty queen, Juniper?"

This time, Juniper recognized the person immediately.

Electra, one of Magnus's ardent admirers back in the day.

Ophelia knew her too.

Electra was also a well-known figure in their year, with the title of an official's daughter, surrounded by sycophants, enjoying endless glory.

Electra glanced at the donation book and saw that Juniper had only donated five hundred dollars. She couldn't help but sneer, "You donated five hundred dollars? Juniper, why are you always so poor? After all, you sold Magnus for a mere twenty thousand dollars back then."

Juniper didn't get angry but smiled lightly, "I see the well-known alumni on the donation list are donating millions. Electra, with your prestigious status, donating at least a million dollars would be appropriate."

Ophelia chimed in, "Ms. Ross, hurry up and donate a million dollars to open our eyes."

Electra's background was good, but her family wasn't in business. How could she afford to donate a million dollars for a school celebration?

If she could, there would be a problem.

Electra was momentarily at a loss, her face turning red. She retorted, "My dad's position is special. Donating a million dollars here would cause him trouble. Don't try to trap me! But you, Juniper, with your tainted past, still have the nerve to attend the school celebration?"

Juniper found it amusing, "You @ me so persistently in the group chat. How could I not come to catch up with you?"

Electra snapped, "Who has anything to catch up with you? I used to think highly of you only because of Magnus. Now that Magnus doesn't want you anymore, after what you did to him, don't expect him to come back. Juniper, let me give you some advice. While you still have your looks, find a rich man to marry. If rich men mind your history of false testimony, being a mistress is also fine. It's better than living a poor life. Stop pretending to be noble; your nobility is worthless now."

Juniper calmly retorted, "Electra, did you not brush your teeth before coming to the school celebration?"

Electra snapped, "What do you mean?"

Ophelia rolled her eyes, "She means your mouth stinks!"

Juniper didn't want to argue with her and pulled Ophelia away.

Electra stood there, glaring angrily at Juniper's back, "She still thinks she's the unattainable pure school beauty! Her reputation is in shambles, and her admirers from back then don't care about her anymore. What's she so proud of?"

Clio added fuel to the fire, "I heard Magnus has a fiancée now, probably prettier than Juniper. Otherwise, Magnus wouldn't be interested."

Electra glanced at Clio, "Who are you?"

"Me? I'm Juniper's roommate, Clio. Electra, don't you remember me?"

Seeing that she couldn't recall, Clio smiled and reminded her, "Didn't you ask me to help break up Juniper and Magnus back then?"

Electra finally remembered, "Clio! I didn't recognize you with such a big change! Did you get some work done on your face? You look completely different from before!"

Clio touched her face and said, "It's not as exaggerated as you say. I just lost weight and found my style in dressing. But standing next to a beauty like Juniper, I'm still overshadowed!"

Electra scoffed, "Juniper? She only has her looks left. But the world is full of beauties. I heard Magnus's current fiancée looks like a movie star. Juniper would feel ashamed if she saw her!"

Clio also became curious, "I want to see what kind of woman can marry Magnus."

Electra sneered, "Whoever she is, it's definitely not someone like Juniper!"
