Chapter 230 The Fourteenth Time
Magnus kept pushing her, trying out moves he'd never used before.
His powerful, muscular hand clasped her neck as he kissed her with wild fervor. "Say it, I wanna hear it."
At this moment, Magnus was a mix of sweet and rough.
When Juniper stayed quiet, he intensified his efforts.
Finally, Juniper's shaky voice slipped out, "I am yours."
"Whose wife are you?"
"Magnus."
"Who belongs to Magnus?"
Magnus chuckled, a bit tipsy and totally messing with her.
But it was only in the dream that he could be this wild.
"Juniper belongs to Magnus," she said.
As soon as she said it, things got even more intense.
With tears in her eyes, she cried out, "Magnus, you broke your promise!"
Didn't he say if she admitted it, he'd let her go?
She believed him because he always kept his word. This was one of the rare times he didn't.
He tightened his grip on her neck.
With their foreheads touching, he looked into her tear-filled eyes, struggling to hold back. "Do you know how hard it is for a healthy guy to only have sex fourteen times in seven years?"
Juniper was stunned by his words.
"Juniper, I'm really, almost going crazy," he added.
Juniper could hear her own heartbeat, loud and clear.
It felt like fireworks were going off in her mind.
In the end, Magnus pinned her wrists to the bed, burying his face in her neck, sighing and pleading, "Juniper, come back to my dreams next time, okay?"
He wished so much that everything tonight was real.
If he could spend a lifetime with Juniper in his dreams, he never wanted to wake up.
By their fourteenth night of intimacy, Juniper found herself ensnared until dawn before finally breaking free. They spent nearly four hours in this embrace, engaging twice.
When Juniper went to take a shower, she found that her whole body was sore.
After a quick shower, she was exhausted and collapsed on the other side of the bed.
Even though she was super tired, she couldn't fall asleep.
She lay on her back, taking several deep breaths before slowly turning to look at Magnus beside her.
Magnus had downed a lot of strong liquor at the bar, and with all the physical exertion, he was now fast asleep.
Juniper didn't get close to him, keeping an arm's length distance between them.
She lay on her side, quietly watching him. Before coming to the Imperial Capital, she had prepared herself for the possibility of this happening, so she took her birth control pills early.
Over the past seven years, with everything that had happened, Juniper couldn't figure out who owed who more.
If she owed Magnus more, it seemed she could only repay him in this crude and lowly way. What else did she have?
She hadn't thought about how to face him after tonight.
The relationship that should have been decisively cut off was now inexplicably tangled together again.
This must be inescapable fate.
This was the first time Juniper understood that the bond between people was destined from the first glance.
She slowly reached out, her fingertips lightly touching Magnus's eyebrows.
He was really handsome, the kind of handsome that stood out even in a crowd.
She had looked at this face for thirteen years and still wasn't tired of it.
No matter how long they were apart, once they reunited, her emotions would surge like a storm, causing waves in her heart, almost drowning her.
Even seeing a shadow in the crowd that resembled him would make her heart race uncontrollably.
This was the magic of a first love.
Magnus was Juniper's first love.
After nearly seven years apart, they could still end up in the same bed, and just now, they'd done the most intimate thing, not once, but twice.
It sounded like a dream, like a fairytale reconciliation.
But only they knew how many scars lay beneath the surface.
Juniper never dared to ask him about his three years in prison. They both silently agreed to keep the past buried, but without being honest about it, the past would always be a wall between them.
Sometimes, she wondered. They'd been apart for so long, had he dated other women during that time?
In Juniper's mind, it would be normal if he had. After all, they had truly broken up back then.
She even hoped that during their years apart, someone had replaced her and loved Magnus well.
That way, she might feel a little better.
She knew she had never been a good partner.
She slowly moved closer to him, lightly kissing his thin lips.
That night, Magnus slept deeply, but Juniper, held in his arms, slept lightly.
The next morning, there was a knock on the master bedroom door.
It was Jenny. "Dad, why aren't you up yet? I'm gonna be late!"
She hadn't done well on her midterms, and if she was late, the teacher would definitely nag her.
Upon hearing the noise, Juniper gently moved the arm around her waist.
When she got out of bed, her legs were a bit wobbly.
She slipped into a robe, tightened it around her chest, and proceeded to open the door.
Jenny was shocked when she saw Juniper.
"Mom!"
Juniper closed the door behind her and squatted down, whispering, "Your father is still sleeping. Go downstairs first, and I'll take you to school later."
"Mom, did you come back last night? I thought you wouldn't make it to my parent-teacher conference. I almost told Dad the truth!" Jenny was excited.
Juniper smiled and ruffled her hair, "I promised you I'd come back, so I did. Go downstairs and have breakfast. I'll take you to school after I freshen up."
"Okay!"
After freshening up and changing clothes, Juniper used some foundation to cover the hickeys on her neck before going downstairs.
Jenny was sitting at the dining table, swinging her little legs and drinking milk. When she saw Juniper, her eyes lit up.
"Mom, you look so pretty!"
Juniper pinched her cheek. "Are you trying to butter me up because you did poorly on your exams?"
"Of course not! I really think you look prettier!" Jenny said.
Her eyes were so sincere that Juniper couldn't help but laugh.
"Alright, hurry up and eat. If we don't leave soon, your dad will wake up and find out I'm going to your parent-teacher conference."
Jenny quickly grabbed two eggs, two slices of bread, and a bottle of milk from the table.
"Mom, let's go!"
Juniper also grabbed something to eat and left Royal View with Jenny.
Since Jenny started first grade, it was the first time Juniper had taken her to school.
Jenny was so excited on the way.
"Mom, can I tell my classmates that you're Beaumont Wen?" Jenny asked.
"You can, but I don't think it's a good idea."
Being a social media influencer wasn't considered a traditional or respectable job by the public. She didn't want her identity to cause any unnecessary trouble for Jenny.
She was just a kid. Juniper had faced too many hardships and was determined to shield Jenny from that chaos.
"It's okay if I don't. You're so pretty, my classmates will be amazed!"
