Chapter 397 Humiliation (2)
Electra urged, "Steven has been pursuing you for so many years, and his family is doing pretty well. Juniper, stop pretending to be high-minded; you're not some eighteen-year-old girl anymore. If you keep putting on airs, it won't be worth anything."
Clio spoke sincerely, "Juniper, congratulations on finding a boyfriend like Steven. When do you plan to get married?"
Juniper was marrying someone she initially looked down on. Clio felt a sense of satisfaction; she enjoyed pulling Juniper down from her pedestal as the aloof campus beauty.
Steven? He was just from a somewhat well-off family.
She couldn't care less; Juniper marrying him was just perfect!
Juniper raised her arm, maintaining distance from Steven, and lightly said, "I am getting married soon, but not to him."
Steven didn't believe her at all. "To the one you just mentioned, the one who gives you an unlimited black card to spend, who's taller and better looking than me, and doesn't fool around outside?"
Juniper's expression showed no hint of joking.
Steven laughed, "Juniper, have you had such a miserable time these years that you can't face reality? Do you really think someone of that caliber would want to marry you?"
Juniper's tone was calm and firm. "He will."
Steven shook his head with a smile, "Just look at yourself; do you think you're worthy of being his wife? Juniper, don't tell me you've been fooled; he probably wants you to be his mistress!"
Electra and Clio were even more skeptical.
Electra smirked, "Juniper, don't be foolish. Although I don't like you, I also don't want to see you go astray. You shouldn't pass up such a good catch as Steven; you'll regret it if you miss the opportunity!"
Juniper remained unfazed and smiled, "Since you think Steven is such a great catch, why don't you take him? You two seem well-matched; I'm not worthy."
Electra was about to explode.
Steven had already rejected her. "I don't want Electra, the ugly one; I want you! Stop trying to match me with other women!"
Electra's face turned green with anger, "Steven, what do you mean? Who's the ugly one!"
Steven couldn't be bothered to argue with her. "Alright, alright, you're beautiful, you're beautiful!"
Juniper couldn't help but chuckle on the side.
As they bickered, it was clear they had a strange compatibility.
Clio intentionally gossiped, "Juniper, since you say you're getting married, who is this person with such good conditions? Is he from our school? Is he here? Why not call him out so we can all meet him!"
She thought Juniper was just putting on a show and wanted to expose her to make her uncomfortable.
Steven was more than happy to expose her. "Exactly, no sound, no image; it's all just your mouth running!"
He didn't believe anyone with better conditions than him would marry Juniper.
Electra chimed in with a biting remark. "It wouldn't be some old man, would it? Are you his daughter or his mistress?"
Juniper wasn't foolish and replied, "He's right in this restaurant. Move aside; I'll go call him out."
Steven wouldn't let her go, "Juniper, do you think I'm stupid? You're using the excuse of calling someone when you really want to escape and can't face the situation!"
Clio pretended to be kind. "Juniper, why don't you just say his name? If he's from our school, with those conditions, he's probably a well-known alumnus. Just say it, and Steven won't bother you anymore."
Electra added, "Yeah, you're afraid to say it because you're worried we'll find out he doesn't even know you?"
Juniper smiled lightly and said a name. "Magnus."
When she threw out that name, they were all stunned.
What followed was a burst of laughter.
Steven said, "Juniper, I think your brain not only has water in it! It's probably mixed with flour too! After all these years, you still haven't woken up from this dream?"
Electra laughed until her stomach hurt, "Are you okay? Magnus? You're the one who had him imprisoned for three years, and now you think he'll marry you? Besides, what status does he have now, and what status do you have? I mean, Juniper, you really shouldn't be so ridiculous!"
Clio also found it completely unbelievable and kindly advised, "Juniper, we all know Magnus already has a fiancée. Don't keep being delusional; people need to look forward."
Juniper didn't rush to prove herself; she simply said, "If you don't believe me, that's fine. When I get married, I'll send you all invitations."
Steven, with a doting expression, pulled her closer, "Alright, alright, when we get married, we'll send them invitations!"
"Let go!"
The more Juniper resisted, the more spirited Steven became.
In front of their old classmates, the man's inherent nature and desire to conquer became even stronger.
Electra and the others wouldn't reach out to help Juniper.
They hoped Juniper would submit to Steven.
In their view, Steven wanting to be with Juniper was lowering his standards; Juniper should be grateful.
A group of people was watching the show, coldly observing Steven tease the beauty.
Just as they were pulling back and forth, a familiar deep male voice rang out from behind them. "Juniper."
Juniper looked up.
Magnus walked through the crowd toward her.
Steven was momentarily stunned when he saw Magnus, but still, he didn't believe Magnus was there for Juniper.
Perhaps he was there to humiliate her?
Electra and Clio were also frozen, not expecting Magnus to appear suddenly.
Magnus's tall and upright figure was walking toward them.
Electra and Clio's hearts raced.
Until Magnus reached Juniper, pulled her back beside him, and leaned down to ask, "Did he treat you badly?"
Juniper honestly replied, her voice light, "He's been pestering me to marry him."
Electra quickly said, "That's not true; it was Juniper who seduced Steven; I saw it all!"
Of course, Steven followed suit, boasting about himself, "Juniper just asked me to name a price; as long as I was willing to pay, she'd sleep with me."
Electra seized the opportunity to fan the flames, nudging Clio's arm, "Clio heard it too, right? Juniper's kind of character, fabricating false testimony, saying whatever without limits, is totally normal!"
Clio hesitated for a few seconds and vaguely said, "When I came in, I saw Juniper and Steven here pulling and tugging. I'm not sure. But Juniper said she's getting married, and to you; none of us believe it. After all, don't you have a fiancée?"
They didn't believe Magnus's fiancée would be Juniper.
Years ago, Juniper had framed Magnus; he hated her so much that how could he possibly marry her?
Magnus looked down at her, a gentle smile forming at the corners of his lips. "Did you tell them we're getting married?"
Steven chimed in, "She not only said you two are getting married, but she also said you gave her an unlimited black card to spend! Mr. Blackwood, wake up this daydreaming woman! She's gone crazy!"
Electra added, "Back then, Juniper didn't recognize what she had and cruelly framed you; now that she sees you're successful, she wants to curry favor!"
Clio, pretending to be a good person, walked over to Magnus and said, "Magnus, Juniper was just bragging a bit; she didn't do anything. Don't make it hard for her; she's not having an easy time now."
Suddenly, Juniper felt a tightness around her waist.
Magnus wrapped his arm around her waist, looking down at her, his voice steady and affectionate. "Why didn't you tell them I also gave you stars?"
Juniper was taken aback.
