Chapter 311 Four Weeks Pregnant

In the private clinic, the attending doctor was a middle-aged man from Crestoria. He first asked about Juniper's condition and then ordered some routine tests like a blood HCG test and an ultrasound.

After completing a series of tests, the doctor took off his glasses and squinted at the report.

Juniper felt inexplicably nervous and asked, "Doctor, am I pregnant?"

The doctor replied, "The HCG levels are significantly elevated, and according to the ultrasound, it's an intrauterine pregnancy. The results suggest that you are about four weeks pregnant."

Four weeks pregnant? Juniper was stunned. She instinctively touched her flat abdomen, in disbelief. 'Am I really pregnant?'

Jenny, who had come along, leaned on the desk and curiously asked the doctor, "Doctor, does it mean my mom has a baby in her belly?"

The doctor nodded and looked at Juniper, asking directly, "Do you plan to keep it?"

Juniper naturally wanted to keep the baby, but she already had Jenny. Whether to keep it or not, she wanted to hear Magnus's and Jenny's opinions, especially Jenny's. Moreover, this child was quite unexpected. From entering the clinic to now learning this news, Juniper was still in a daze.

Juniper said, "Doctor, we need to discuss this first."

The doctor remarked, "Sure, it's a life after all; it's best to be cautious."

Juniper pulled Jenny out of the office.

Jenny looked up curiously at Juniper and asked, "Mom, don't you want the baby?"

Juniper squatted down, holding her little hand, looking her in the eye, and said, "Mom wants this baby, but what about you? Can you accept it?"

Jenny pouted, unable to hide her emotions. "Mom, if you have a baby, will you not like me anymore?"

Juniper said firmly, "No, Mom's love for you won't lessen, and neither will Dad's. We will love you just as much as always."

Because of the ups and downs in Juniper's relationship with Magnus, Jenny had been in a single-parent situation with Juniper until she was six.

Although Juniper and Magnus loved Jenny very much, they often felt they owed her.

Juniper reached out and touched Jenny's head, her voice gentle. "But if you really don't want a sibling, then Mom and Dad will discuss it, and we won't have this baby for now."

Jenny pursed her lips, her clear eyes looking at Juniper seriously. "Mom, you should have the baby. If you don't, you'll be unhappy. I don't want you to be unhappy."

Juniper was a bit surprised to hear this. "Really?"

Jenny nodded her little head vigorously. "If there's another baby, Dad won't just give me homework. He'll give the baby homework too! Then the baby can help me with my homework!"

Juniper couldn't help but laugh, "Jenny, what are you thinking? What if they, like you, don't want to do homework either?"

Jenny pouted, "Then we can get punished together, and Dad won't just scold me."

Juniper laughed out loud.

Salina, who was nearby, also laughed, "Jenny's thoughts are so interesting."

Jenny wasn't opposed to having a sibling, which made Juniper feel much better.

Salina asked, "Mrs. Blackwood, should we call Mr. Blackwood?"

"Sure," Juniper said, took out her phone, and made a call.

But Magnus's phnoe was turned off.

Juniper thought for a moment and said, "He might still be on the plane back to the Imperial Capital, so his phone is off."

Since Juniper had decided to keep the baby, there was no rush.

The main concern now was the bleeding in the morning, and whether it would cause any problems.

Juniper took Jenny back to the office.

The doctor, knowing her decision, said, "You want to keep it, right? But your test results show that the pregnancy is not very stable. Early pregnancy bleeding can easily lead to miscarriage. Do you have any abdominal pain?"

Juniper thought for a moment before replying, "I didn't feel it before, but now there's a slight pain, though not severe."

The doctor said, "Then I'll prescribe some nutritional supplements and folic acid for you. You're too thin; try to gain some weight. Don't overexert yourself, especially avoid stress and remember to control your emotions. Bleeding at four weeks is a sign of threatened miscarriage. If you take good care of yourself, it would be fine, but if not, it could lead to a miscarriage."

The doctor spoke very directly, clearly explaining the risks and consequences.

Juniper responded calmly.

While prescribing the medication, the doctor advised, "Also, given your current condition, avoid sex. Some women with stronger constitutions can handle it, but in your case, it's prohibited."

Hearing these blunt words, Juniper blushed, feeling ashamed. She hadn't known she was pregnant and had been intimate with Magnus the night before.

Juniper quickly nodded. "Okay."

Salina, being used to speaking frankly abroad, asked, "Doctor, she had sex with her husband last night. Is that why she's bleeding?"

Juniper was totally stunned, her cheeks flushing an even brighter red.

The doctor was also taken aback, glanced at Salina, and said, "It's possible. But it could also be that her constitution is inherently weak and needs proper care."

Salina nodded seriously. "Alright, I'll make sure she rests as much as possible when we get back."

If anything happened to Juniper in Solara, Salina couldn't bear the responsibility.

The doctor pondered for a moment, looked at Juniper, and reminded her again, "No sexual activity!"

Juniper, embarrassed and awkward, explained, "My husband is no longer in Solara, so this won't be an issue."

The doctor then nodded. "That's good."

On the way home, Salina drove. The car wheels crunched over the snow on the road, leaving long tire tracks.

Salina was very considerate, driving slowly and steadily to avoid making Juniper uncomfortable.

Juniper and Jenny sat in the back seat.

Jenny curiously looked at Juniper's flat abdomen, furrowing her brows. "Mom, your belly is so flat. Is there really a baby in there?"

Juniper smiled gently, "Do you want to touch it?"

Jenny was a bit scared. "Can I really touch it? Will it hurt you, Mom?"

Juniper shook her head, holding Jenny's hand and guiding it to her belly. "It won't hurt. As time goes by, my belly will get bigger. When I was pregnant with you, it was the same. I watched you grow little by little in my belly. At first, I was quite scared, but day by day, as you grew, I became more and more excited about your birth."

Jenny leaned against Juniper, gently touching her belly. "Mom, was it hard when you were pregnant with me?"

Juniper said earnestly, "It was hard, but it was also very happy. Jenny, having you makes me very happy. So, whether or not your dad and I have more children, I will always love you. Don't ever think that if we have another baby, we won't love you anymore. That won't happen."
