Chapter 348 Improper
In the car, not knowing how long they had embraced, Magnus finally let go.
He stood in the snowy night, watching Juniper enter Christopher's Mansion before turning to leave.
After quietly entered the bedroom, Juniper stood on the second floor and glanced down.
The black car was parked not far from Christopher's Mansion.
Magnus bent slightly and got into the back seat.
The car slowly drove away.
Inside the car.
Paul was driving and glanced at the rearview mirror.
Magnus was putting on his framed glasses.
Paul felt indignant: "Mr. Blackwood, you almost died to get the antidote, and you were blind for a while. Ms. Beaumont just left you and went on a business trip to Skyville?"
At least stay with him for a couple of days.
This was too heartless.
Magnus lowered his eyes and turned the platinum ring on his ring finger, "SY also has a lot of messes waiting for me to clean up. Spending time together is not urgent right now."
Paul saw through it but didn't say anything, just smiled lightly. "Mr. Blackwood, you could actually try to act a little spoiled. If you do, Ms. Beaumont will soften her heart."
Act spoiled?
This word was extremely incompatible with Magnus, almost jarring.
Magnus frowned slightly and returned to the serious topic. "Has Michael contacted me?"
Paul replied, "No. After Mr. Johnson quietly sold off ten percent of his shares, there has been no movement. Could he really be planning to avenge his sister? Mr. Blackwood, should we assign a few bodyguards to Ms. Beaumont? If Mr. Johnson kidnaps her to retaliate against you..."
Magnus directly dismissed this speculation, "Michael wouldn't do that."
One reason was an objective judgment of Michael's character.
Another was that Michael once had a slight affection for Juniper. Even if it was far from love, a man would have to be pretty despicable to harm a woman he once had feelings for.
Michael wasn't that shameless.
"Have we found out who bought his shares?"
Paul responded, "It's a venture capital company called Streamline Media. It's very small and insignificant."
Magnus's brow twitched slightly, and he said in a deep voice, "A small company, yet able to buy so many shares at such a high price, indicates strong financial power. It's suddenly entering the market might stir up quite a storm."
"But what's the point of spending so much money to buy Mr. Johnson's shares?"
These shares were far from enough to shake the core team of the group.
The fear was that the its intention was not just about the group.
When a major shareholder cashed out, the stock price would inevitably drop in the short term.
Paul thought for a moment and asked, "Mr. Blackwood, should we repurchase the shares? Their behind-closed-doors transaction is a violation."
Magnus leaned back in the rear seat, slightly closed his eyes, and rested. "Don't alert them for now. Only when the storm rises high enough, the mastermind will reveal themselves."
"What about Mr. Johnson? Should we talk to him?"
Magnus in the back seat clearly sighed and finally spoke, "No."
Paul shook his head lightly and also sighed, "Mr. Blackwood, you are just too kind."
"Patricia is, after all, his sister. It's normal for him to feel uncomfortable."
For Michael, cashing out and leaving at this time might be the best outcome.
Staying in SY as a shareholder would inevitably be awkward.
The friendship from those years of school was not something that could be easily forgotten.
During those three years in prison, the group's blueprint was planned by him before he went in, and the big framework was also his doing, but he was inside at the time, and many things could only be instructed, not personally done.
During those three years, Michael and Robert contributed a lot to SY, especially Michael.
Magnus was ultimately nostalgic and didn't want to be ruthless.
The heavy snow in Southern City had been falling for several days.
The ice and snow had not melted.
Early the next morning, Juniper saw the three snowmen in the yard again, still not melted.
But by the time she returns from Skyville, the temperature in Southern City probably wouldn't be able to keep these three snowmen.
The snowman wearing a white veil and a mermaid wedding dress was incredibly lifelike.
Juniper took out her phone and snapped several more photos for keepsake.
Seeing how much she liked them, Jerry joked with a smile, "Ms. Abbott, if you really like these snowmen, I can move them to a big freezer for you, so they can be preserved forever."
Juniper quickly waved her hand; that would be too creepy.
Outside Christopher's Mansion, the sound of a horn was blaring; Karen's car had arrived.
Jerry carried her small suitcase to the trunk.
Juniper got in the car, "Jerry, you can go back now. Please take care of my dad and Jenny for me during this time."
"Ms. Quinn Abbott and Ms. Karen Abbott, have a safe trip. Mr. Christopher Abbott said if there's anything you can't handle in Skyville, remember to call him."
After saying goodbye, they headed to the airport, driven by the chauffeur.
Juniper and Karen sat in the back seat.
Juniper took out her phone, opened the photo album, and looked at the snowman pictures again.
Karen leaned over, "What are you looking at? So engrossed?"
Juniper quickly exited the gallery, "Nothing."
"I saw it, and you're still denying it? But I didn't expect Mr. Blackwood to be so romantic, making snowmen for you."
Karen found it unbelievable.
Juniper thought it was no big deal, "Making snowmen is romantic? Haven't you ever been in a relationship?"
Karen turned her eyes away, looking a bit awkward.
Juniper saw through it immediately, "No way, Ms. Abbott, you've never been in a relationship?"
Her expression was slightly exaggerated, as if she had discovered some big news.
Karen's expression became more reserved, frowning, "Isn't it normal not to have been in a relationship? Is that so strange? I'm so busy, always occupied with Windsor Group's business, where do I have time for men?"
Juniper quickly reassured her, "Then after we get back from the business trip in Skyville, Ms. Abbott, you should take a good vacation and find some time to look for a man."
"What's so good about men? Is it more interesting than making money in business?"
So, Karen had been single all this time.
Juniper looked at her with curiosity, "Ms. Abbott, are you planning to sell your whole life to Windsor Group?"
"What do you mean by sell? If I could only earn a few million dollars a year in dead salary at Windsor Group, that would be selling. But I'm one of the shareholders of Windsor Group, that's not selling."
Hearing this, Juniper, the future owner of Windsor Group, was naturally pleased. "Yes, Ms. Abbott, that's not selling, that's working for yourself. I see that Windsor Group has quite a few tall and handsome male interns every year, maybe Ms. Abbott will fancy one. If Ms. Abbott is really too busy to date but still craves some eye candy, you could..."
Before she could finish her sentence.
Karen sensed something was off and suddenly turned to look at her, "Quinn, why are you so improper?"
She had been wrong before.
She had thought Juniper was so cold and proper.
But it turned out, this person often said the most astonishing things.
Juniper looked serious, "Or does Ms. Abbott not like pure and innocent male college students?"
Karen cleared her throat to cover her embarrassment and mumbled, "They're just okay."
Juniper was very curious about what kind of men she liked.
After all, knowing Karen's various preferences would help her fully understand her, and knowing her ally well was the key to making Karen work for her.
Christopher and Magnus had taught her one thing.
A person without vulnerabilities was a formidable opponent.
If Karen was truly emotionless and always alone, it would be impossible to grasp her vulnerabilities and weaknesses, which would mean losing control over her.
Juniper asked again, "Then do you like obedient and cute guys?"
