Chapter 123: Dad, if I Choose Mom, Please Don't Be Too Sad

Juniper gave Jennifer a bunch of food. Jennifer ate to her heart's content, patting her round little belly and saying, "Mom, are you trying to fatten me up like a little pig?"

Juniper wiped the greasy little mouth of the little one with a napkin. Her gaze was deep as she kept looking at the little one. It had been a year since they last met, and Jennifer had grown taller, as children do quickly.

However, her face still looked much more tender compared to others her age. Sensing her mother's warm gaze, Jennifer picked up a French fry and offered it to Juniper. Juniper opened her mouth and ate it.

"Mom, where have you been this past year? Dad and I missed you so much."

Juniper pondered for a moment and replied, "Yes, I've has been through a lot this past year, and I didn't know how to tell you for a while, but I didn't mean to stay away from you."

For the past year, she had been undergoing therapy and recuperating in the United States. It was only recently that she had finished her treatment. When she first went to the United States, she missed her child so much that she couldn't sleep at night. Fortunately, she added Jennifer on Twitter later, allowing them to chat, which was a kind of comfort.

Juniper wiped her hands with a wet wipe, looked down at her, and asked, "If I leave you, is it my fault? Jennifer, do you resent me?"

Jennifer shook her head, "No. Mom, I'm already happy that you're back, and you used to work hard to support me while earning money. I know you didn't have an easy time before. Mom, if you can live a happy life, I will be happy too!"

Juniper looked at her adorable face, her eyes slightly teary. "It's only right for me to support you, Jennifer. This time I'm back, I can spend some quality time with you. What do you want to play? I'll play with you."

"Will you leave again?"

With this question from the little one, Juniper was at a loss for words. There was one question she had been considering carefully, the issue of whether to fight for custody with Magnus. Even though things were impossible between her and Magnus, he was indeed a good father. Moreover, over the past year, Jennifer had been with her father, which must have created a strong emotional bond.

Juniper didn't want to force the child to choose. She asked seriously, "Jennifer, adults also have some problems that can't be solved, just like how sometimes Jennifer doesn't want to go to school, adults can also be very tired and not want to face certain emotional issues. For example, between Mom and Dad, maybe we can't get back together. Now that my financial situation is a bit better and I have the ability to support you, I want to know if you want to stay with me?"

Although Jennifer was young, she understood her mother's meaning. "Mom, if I continue living with Dad, will you be sad?"

Juniper didn't hide anything from her, but answered seriously, "Being sad is inevitable, but I also understand that no matter who you chooses to live with, it's your right. And no matter who you end up living with, the fact that I am your mother will never change. You will always be Mom's little baby, and I will always love you as before and respect your decisions."

If Jennifer wanted to live with her, she would fight for it with Magnus. Jennifer pursed her lips, unable to give an immediate answer, "Mom, this is too difficult for me to decide, I need time to think about it."

"Yes, I understand. I'll give you enough time, and there's no rush. For now, I'll stay by your side and accompany you, not thinking about anything."

Ophelia felt the topic was getting a bit heavy and changed the subject. "You two have just reunited, let's not talk about these things now. Jennifer, you don't know yet, your mom is the singer you've always been chasing after!"

Jennifer opened her mouth in astonishment. "Mom, you're really Harper Beaumont?"

With Juniper's nod of approval, Jennifer's mouth opened even wider. She excitedly hugged Juniper and exclaimed, "Mom, give me an autograph! I want to tell my classmates that I'm your number one fan!"

Juniper was taken aback. "Your classmates have heard my songs too?"

Jennifer nodded vigorously, "Many people have heard the song 'Little Jennifer,' our school radio station even played that song! Mom, when you sing 'Little Jennifer,' are you thinking of me?"

"Of course, I've always been thinking of you."

"I'm so amazing!"

The mother and daughter spent the whole day together. Juniper bought Jennifer a lot of things. In the end, the three of them arrived at the counter.

Ophelia asked, "Juniper, are you buying a bag?"

Juniper looked at her and smiled, "Your biggest hobby is buying bags, right? Go in and pick one, any style in the store. I'll pay."

"Juniper, I love you! Thank you!"

Over the years, Ophelia had helped her a lot. Now that her career was taking off, she had earned some money through her online popularity. After paying off Christopher's debt, she had saved quite a bit of money. Buying a bag for Ophelia was the least she could do.

In the future, when she earned more, she would buy her a second bag, a third bag, and so on.

When Jennifer returned to Royal View with a bunch of things, it was already 8 p.m. Ophelia had brought her back.

Magnus was sitting at the dining table. "Have you eaten?"

Jennifer wanted to stay with her father a little longer, but she couldn't keep up the act. She smiled and said, "Daddy, I ate too much today. Why don't you eat by yourself?"

She put down her things, walked over and sat next to Magnus. She leaned on the table, looking at Magnus. The man reached out and patted her little head. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Daddy, would you be sad if I left?"

"You'd leave?"

Jennifer nodded. "Daddy, you're a good person. I've been happy living with you for so long."

Although her father didn't talk much and often had a stern face, she knew he was good to her and cared about her. However, she also loved her mom very much and wanted to be with her. So, she was conflicted for a moment.

Magnus looked at her deep expression and chuckled, "Where are you going?"

"To go with Mom. Mom asked me if I wanted to live with her. Daddy, if I choose Mom, please don't be too sad. I will come back to see you, and when I grow up, I will take care of you. You will always be my dad, and I will always love you."

Jennifer patted Magnus's arm, trying to comfort her father.

Magnus's heart skipped a beat. "What did you say?"

Jennifer shrank away, thinking her father was angry, and said softly, "I said I will take care of you when you grow old. I will always love you, Daddy."

"Not that." Magnus stared straight at the little one, suddenly realizing something. He glanced at the pile of things on the floor. "Who bought you these things?"

"Mom bought them for me. Mom also bought a bag for Ophelia today."
