Chapter 344 What’s the Relationship Between You and Me?
Leaving the abandoned factory, Juniper, like Magnus's crutch, guided him to the car.
Magnus sat in the passenger seat.
Juniper was driving.
Passing by the storefronts on the city streets, Juniper noticed an eyeglass store.
"I saw an eyeglass store still open. Let's get you a new pair of glasses."
She was about to find a parking spot.
But Magnus refused, "Didn't you say you weren't needed by me? In my half-blind state, I really need you."
Get a pair of glasses?
He didn't like wearing framed glasses. Besides, that would make him lose his reason to cling to her.
Juniper chuckled, "I was talking about mutual trust, not something that a pair of glasses can solve. Besides, I have to go back to Christopher's Mansion tonight. If you're alone in the hotel without glasses and you fall..."
Magnus frowned and interrupted her, "You're not staying with me?"
"I have to go on a business trip to Skyville tomorrow morning. How can I stay with you? Let's just get you a pair."
With that, Juniper was already turning the steering wheel, craning her neck to find a parking spot.
Magnus was a bit unhappy.
Juniper helped Magnus to the eyeglass store and said to the clerk, "Please help him check his current myopia degree and get him the best pair of glasses."
After checking the myopia degree, Juniper pulled Magnus to the counter to choose frames.
Various frames were displayed in the counter.
Juniper was dazzled and turned to ask him, "What style of frame do you like?"
"Anything you choose is fine."
Juniper deliberately chose the most exaggerated big black frame and said to the clerk, "Hi, we'd like to try this one."
The clerk took out the big black frame and handed it to Juniper.
Juniper then handed the frame to Magnus, "Try it on?"
Magnus didn't take it, just lowered his face, "Help put it on for me."
He had blurry vision, not broken hands, right?
Why did he suddenly act like he was disabled?
Wasn't he fine just now?
But considering he was still recovering, Juniper helped him put it on.
The big black frame was actually very ugly, but Magnus's face and features were top-notch, and his noble temperament was enough to make even this non-mainstream big black frame look not ugly.
The clerk on the side praised, "Miss, your boyfriend is so handsome, he can pull off any frame. How about this one?"
Such a hard-to-sell style, the clerk wanted to sell it to them since it was hardto find someone who could pull it off.
Juniper, with no problem in aesthetics, immediately refused, "Forget it, let's get a daily style. This one is too exaggerated."
After much picking, they finally chose a daily style with silver metal frames, similar to the one Magnus wore before.
The cold metallic silver frame matched Magnus's ascetic and cool temperament perfectly.
Juniper found it pleasing to the eye, "We'll take this one, please."
The clerk asked, "And the lenses?"
"The best ones."
After about half an hour, the glasses were ready.
Magnus tried them on, but took them off as soon as he got in the car.
Juniper was suspicious, "Why aren't you wearing them? Are they uncomfortable?"
Magnus responded faintly, "Yeah, dizzy."
Saying this, he closed his eyes and leaned back in the passenger seat to rest.
Juniper asked, "Wearing framed glasses made you dizzy?"
"Not used to it, makes me very dizzy."
Seeing that Magnus didn't seem to be joking, and having heard that people who never wear glasses might feel dizzy and even experience vertigo when they suddenly start wearing them, Juniper believed him and murmured, "What should we do then? Is it serious?"
Magnus, leaning back with his eyes closed, replied, "Yeah, so dizzy I feel like throwing up."
Juniper was surprised, "That serious?"
She was driving, so she reached out a hand to feel his forehead, thinking he might be sick.
His forehead wasn't hot, ruling out a fever.
Could wearing framed glasses really make someone so dizzy they want to throw up?
Juniper pondered, "Is it the quality of the glasses? Should we go back to the store to consult? Or get a new pair?"
Magnus firmly denied her guess, "I get dizzy with all glasses."
Juniper was thoughtful, "What about your previous pair? I saw you wearing them for the past few days without any discomfort..."
"Dizzy too, just not as dizzy."
Juniper was stunned by his words.
After all, that pair had already been crushed by her.
They arrived at Shilla Hotel.
Magnus, saying he was dizzy and unwilling to wear glasses, left Juniper no choice but to take him to his room.
Once in the room, Magnus kicked the door shut.
With a long arm, he wrapped Juniper's slender waist, his hot breath rolling down her ear, "Do you really have to go to Skyville tomorrow morning?"
Juniper answered truthfully, "I promised Ms. Abbott... Oh, right, Ms. Abbott!"
She suddenly remembered that Karen had been attacked by Sophie and didn't know how she was doing now.
She quickly took out her phone from her bag and called Karen.
Magnus, leaning against her back, lowered his eyes and stared at her, his gaze dark and turbulent.
Now even someone as irrelevant as Karen was more important than him?
Juniper was completely unaware of his jealous gaze.
As soon as the call connected, she asked with concern, "Hello, Ms. Abbott, are you hurt?"
Karen wailed on the other end, "I'm in the hospital. Did Magnus save you?"
After Juniper explained everything, Karen cursed, "Fuck! Sophie was way too harsh. I just had a CT scan, and the doctor said I have a concussion!"
"That serious? Are you alone in the hospital?"
"Yeah! What, are you coming to keep me company?"
Juniper instinctively glanced at Magnus beside her.
Magnus was already sitting on the bed, pulling off his tie, his mood visibly low, looking quite unhappy.
Juniper said into the phone, "How about I ask Ronald to keep you company?"
At the mention of Ronald's name, Karen's head hurt, "No! I don't need him. He might just come to laugh at me! I look really bad with my head wrapped in bandages! It's just a mild concussion, I'll be home after some observation."
"Okay... then be careful. By the way, with your concussion, can you still go on the business trip to Skyville tomorrow morning?"
Karen didn't hesitate at all, "Of course! A little concussion will be fine after a night's sleep! Or is it inconvenient for you to go?"
Juniper soon replied, "No, see you at the airport in the morning."
After confirming the schedule for tomorrow, Juniper hung up the phone.
Looking up, she met Magnus's deep, scrutinizing gaze.
He smiled slightly, "When did you and Karen get so close?"
In the half month he wasn't by her side, it seemed a lot had happened that he didn't know about.
"Not that close, just work-related."
She didn't know whether they would become real friends in the future.
But for now, she was getting close to Karen to win her over.
Magnus sat there.
Juniper stood there, not approaching. Seeing he didn't speak, she checked the time on her phone, "It's almost midnight, it's late. How about you rest first?"
Magnus suddenly stood up, standing in front of her, looking down and asking, "You and Karen are work-related, then what about you and me? What kind of relationship between you and me now?"
