Chapter 326 Hang Up on Him
The red Ferrari drove to the suburbs, stopping at the entrance of a golf course.
Karen took off her sunglasses and tossed a Hermès paper bag to Juniper. "Hold this, get out!"
Juniper did as told without asking questions.
She followed Karen straight into the golf course.
Karen asked, "By the way, do you know how to play golf?"
"A little."
Back when she was with the Beaumont family, Alexander had her learn a bunch of activities that rich people enjoyed, like violin, horseback riding, golf... Juniper knew a bit of everything.
"What do you mean by 'a little'?"
Juniper replied, "Like a hole-in-one kind of 'a little'?"
Karen was a bit surprised.
Was that 'a little'?
That was quite skilled!
Karen was visibly taken aback, her eyes brightening with a hint of surprise. "Then show off later. This client loves golf, but he's not very good at it."
Juniper nodded and asked, "What kind of business are we doing with him?"
"Windsor Group initially started in the building materials business. With the rapid rise of real estate, we almost monopolized all the building materials needed by developers in the south. In recent years, as the real estate market has slowed down, we has focused more on new energy and resort hotels. Plus, with Christopher's recent coma, many partners in the building materials sector have been poached by competitors. Although building materials are no longer Windsor Group's most profitable business, neither Christopher nor the Windsor Group executives want to abandon their original business. Today's client is the head of the procurement department at Real Estate. Real Estate has just started a project in Southern City to build three high-end residential complexes, requiring a large amount of building materials."
Juniper seemed to be deep in thought.
Karen glanced at her and reminded, "In short, get him to the dinner table first. Only when he's at the table can we talk business. Can you drink?"
"Just a little."
"Means you can drink a lot?"
Juniper felt awkward and clarified, "I'm allergic to alcohol, so really just a little. I can't handle much."
Karen was a bit exasperated upon hearing this.
They arrived at the golf course.
They saw the head of Real Estate's procurement department passionately swinging his club.
Karen wasn't very good at golf. After watching for a while, she leaned over and whispered to Juniper, "Is he playing badly?"
Juniper couldn't help but laugh, "He's pretty average, but his form is correct."
Karen, having just enjoyed the sight of his poor performance, suddenly put on a bright smile and waved.
"Hi, Mr. Wright! Long time no see! You look great, full of energy. Something good must have happened to you recently?"
The speed of her change in demeanor was astonishing.
Juniper was stunned.
Jeremy Wright looked troubled upon seeing Karen. "Why are you here again? I've told you several times, just submit a bid. Our Real Estate procurement is completely transparent, following the normal bidding process. There's no way to pre-select a company."
Karen blinked and slowly took out a business card with a smile. "Real Estate is new to Southern City, so you might not know much about us. Here's my card. Mr. Wright, please consider us. Windsor Group is a veteran in the building materials industry. I'm sure you've heard of us."
"Just leave it on the table."
"Alright, I'll leave the card here. Remember to take it later."
Seeing Jeremy continuously swinging his club, completely ignoring them, Karen took the Hermès paper bag from Juniper and handed it over.
"Mr. Wright, I recently bought a Hermès bag abroad, but the color was wrong. This brown Birkin looks a bit too mature for someone my age. I remembered your wife posted a black Birkin on social media, and it suited her perfectly. It would be a shame not to use this bag, so why not let your wife have it?"
Jeremy raised an eyebrow and said indifferently, "Ms. Abbott, this is dangerous. Are you trying to bribe me?"
Karen laughed, "I wouldn't dare. It's just a bag. I'll leave the card and the bag here. Remember to take them."
Juniper quickly slipped the business card into the Hermès bag.
Jeremy noticed all these small actions from the corner of his eye but didn't stop them.
Karen tucked a curl behind her ear, maintaining a smile, though her face was starting to feel a bit stiff. "Mr. Wright, you're new to Southern City and probably don't know the local delicacies. I've arranged a spot with the best view at the Shilla Hotel, where you can see the entire city's nightscape. How about joining us for dinner and a chat?"
"Oh no! Missed again!"
Jeremy ignored Karen's words, only lamenting that his shot didn't make it.
Seeing this, Juniper picked up a nearby club, swung her arm, and made a hole-in-one.
Jeremy was stunned, unable to believe it.
This young girl just made a hole-in-one?
Juniper smiled and, while the caddy was picking up the ball, put down the club and started clapping. "Mr. Wright, you're amazing! A hole-in-one! The caddy will get a tip today!"
Karen also clapped and gave a thumbs up. "Mr. Wright, impressive! Let me take a handsome photo of you. I have to promote your glorious moment of sinking the hole-in-one today on Facebook!"
Jeremy asked, "You both saw that?"
"We saw it."
"We saw it."
They replied in unison.
Jeremy was a bit taken aback.
These two young women had elevated him to a new height.
A hole-in-one, something to brag about for a lifetime!
Juniper seized the moment, opened a bottle of water, and handed it to him. "Mr. Wright, you must be tired from playing. Have some water."
Jeremy, a bit dazed, silently took the water bottle, looking at them, feeling a bit bewildered.
These tactics were shameless...yet impressive.
Karen grinned, "Mr. Wright, you've had some water and must be hungry after all that exercise. How about we go to the Shilla Hotel for a meal?"
Jeremy hadn't responded yet.
Karen had already taken his arm. "Mr. Wright, don't be shy. Let's go! Quinn, grab Mr. Wright's clothes and the bag!"
Juniper quickly picked up the items and followed them.
Jeremy turned back, "Wait, I haven't tipped the caddy!"
Karen dragged him along, "Quinn, go tip the caddy!"
Juniper quickly settled the tip and caught up with them.
At the Shilla Hotel.
Karen had already arranged for a few of her subordinates who could drink to wait at the rooftop restaurant.
As soon as Jeremy sat down, he looked at Juniper with appreciation. "Ms. Abbott, your assistant is quite good. What's her name again?"
Juniper replied, "Mr. Wright, my name is Quinn."
"Quinn, right? Let's have a few drinks later and discuss that hole-in-one!"
Karen was about to say she couldn't drink.
Juniper had already agreed, "Sure, just a little. Mr. Wright, I'm not a big drinker, so please bear with me."
"Sincerity is what matters! It's not about the quantity!"
Karen, sitting at the table, raised an eyebrow at Juniper.
This Juniper wasn't as useless as she thought.
She could handle things quite well.
Juniper's phone vibrated.
She glanced at the caller ID, it was Magnus.
Her face stiffened for a moment.
At the table.
Jeremy raised a glass to her, "Come on, Quinn, let's toast to our hole-in-one!"
Juniper was momentarily distracted but quickly recovered and decisively hung up the call.
