Chapter 336 Juniper, You Want to Throw Me Away?

Karen scoffed, "Who would be reluctant to let go of an assistant? Do you think you're..."

She looked at Juniper's half-joking expression and suddenly remembered her previous assistant, who was smart, efficient, and particularly good at reading the room.

But he just disappeared.

The month he left, his salary hadn't even been settled.

No one knew which company poached him with a high salary. If she found him, she'd twist his ear off!

She hated subordinates who left without notice, leaving a mess for her to clean up!

Seeing her momentarily distracted.

Juniper lightly tapped the table, "Ms. Abbott? Remember to transfer that one hundred million dollars to my salary account."

Karen snapped back to reality in a second, "Hey! Where do I have a hundred million dollars in cash to give you? The funds from business dealings with SY don't go into my pocket! Damn it! I won't even get a hundred million dollars in dividends from this deal by the end of the year! Why should I give you that much?"

Seeing Juniper not even turning her head, she just threw out, "Ms. Abbott's word is as good as gold. If you go back on your promise to an assistant, how will you stand in Windsor Group in the future?"

Karen's head was about to explode, "Where do I have a hundred million dollars in cash to give you? Go ask my father! That money went into the group's finance department, not my pocket! Fuck... Quinn, get back here!"

She thought Juniper was just a naive little girl and didn't guard against her at all.

Plus, in the afternoon at the negotiation table, they had easily raised the price, creating a two hundred million dollar difference. She was so happy that she casually promised to reward Juniper with half of the extra difference!

But that extra two hundred million dollars didn't go into her personal account either!

Did she have to pay the assistant out of her own pocket?

Karen finally understood.

The actual controller and beneficiary of the entire Windsor Group was Christopher, and Christopher's sole heir was Quinn.

Quinn worked in her own family group, asking for both salary and commission, and then taking a large part of the bonus from the major shareholder's dividends!

No wonder Quinn was so willing to help her raise the price!

It turned out that she was working for Quinn!

Karen laughed in anger, her delicate and bright features twitching slightly, "Quinn, from today on, your base salary and commission are zero!"

Juniper leaned against the office door, "Ms. Abbott, how can you change your orders so quickly? You just promised me a five thousand dollar base salary this morning!"

Karen's red lips curled into a cold smile, "You're working for yourself, why do you need a base salary? Besides, I'm helping you avoid taxes. If you think it's unreasonable, go home and ask your father."

Juniper forced a smile, "Ms. Abbott, you're so kind, even helping me avoid taxes."

Seeing Juniper still leaning against the door.

Karen pressed her index finger against her forehead and pushed her away, "Don't even think about that a hundred million dollars. The finance department won't give you a hundred million dollar bonus. If you really want money, talk to your father. Anyway, that money isn't under my control. I only manage the revenue of Shilla Hotel, and the net profit from the hotel has to be reported back to the main group for distribution. But honestly, are you short of money? Didn't Magnus give you any black cards or diamond cards to use freely?"

"He did."

But she didn't use them much.

When she was running the "Harper Beaumont" account, she made quite a bit, enough to spend.

Karen looked gossipy, "Did he take them back? Or did you have a fight and he froze them?"

It seemed that money was more reliable when earned by oneself.

What a man gave could be taken back at any time.

"I cut them up."

Karen gave her a thumbs up, "Impressive."

After her miscarriage in Solara, when she couldn't reach him by phone, Juniper, in a fit of anger, threw away the pink diamond ring and cut up the black card.

In the evening.

Juniper arrived at Shilla Hotel with Karen. At the top-floor observation restaurant, Karen said she had a stomachache and left Juniper alone at the table.

Juniper realized she had been tricked again and wanted to leave, "Mr. Blackwood, our Ms. Abbott just texted me saying she suddenly got her period and asked me to bring her some sanitary pads. I have to excuse myself..."

She made up a clumsy yet reasonable excuse, just got up to leave, but was firmly grabbed by the wrist by Magnus behind her.

Magnus stood behind her, his large hand around her waist, saying, "Ms. Abbott won't be coming back."

Juniper forced a smile, "Did she fall into the toilet? Then I really have to go..."

"Juniper."

He called her name with a serious tone, "Since I came to Southern City, you've been avoiding me. It was wrong of me to force you and Jenny to go to Solara. I shouldn't have kept it from you. Last time you said we should take some time to cool off, and I've given you enough time to process it over the past half month. Have you stayed in Southern City so long that you've forgotten about me?"

Juniper pressed her lips together, too angry to speak.

Magnus pinched her chin, forcing her to face him, his tone firm, "Speak."

Every time they had a cold war, she treated him like air, ignoring him, laughing and talking with others, even giving that Karen more attention.

Magnus was extremely jealous.

After being ignored by Juniper for almost two days, his previous patience had vanished.

He was inherently domineering, wrapping her left hand with his large hand, pressing it against the floor-to-ceiling window, and lowering his head to kiss her.

After half a month of not seeing her, if she had forgotten about Magnus, he didn't mind helping her remember.

Juniper was completely controlled in his arms, like a futilely struggling bird.

He noticed her fingers were bare, without the couple's ring or the pink diamond ring.

Magnus looked down at her, "Where's the ring? Why aren't you wearing it?"

Juniper answered honestly, "I threw it away."

A clear fire of anger ignited in Magnus's deep eyes, but he still asked patiently, "Why did you throw it away?"

"It was an eyesore."

"Juniper."

He pressed his forehead against hers, laughing angrily, "Is it the ring that's an eyesore, or is it me? Do you want to throw me away too?"

Juniper's lips curled into a cold smile, "I don't have the power to throw you away, but Mr. Blackwood, you can throw me away whenever you want. You threw me to Solara, confiscated my passport, and under the guise of doing it for my own good, treated me like a fool. Now you act like none of that happened, hug me, coax me, and think it's all over. What about next time? Where will you throw me and Jenny next time?"

"Why not just throw us into outer space next time, so we never come back."

"Magnus, count how many times you've lied to me in just one month. Even banks need credit for loans, and you've maxed out your credit with me to a negative balance. Now you're accusing me of wanting to throw you away?"

"Even if I want to reassess your creditworthiness now, it's not too much, is it?"

"You've thrown me and Jenny away so many times, what's wrong with me throwing away your ring?"

She said a lot in one breath, her voice slightly rushed, her chest heaving.

In the end, Juniper's eyes gradually reddened.

All the suppressed emotions of these days erupted at this moment—

"Even if I throw you away..."
