Chapter 343 Bite Him Hard
Such close proximity made their breaths mingle hotly.
Magnus lowered his head, and Juniper instinctively turned her face slightly.
But he didn't give her a chance to refuse, gripping the back of her neck and kissing her almost forcefully.
Dominant and aggressive.
Juniper couldn't escape or push him away, feeling a stifling frustration in her chest with no outlet. She bit him hard.
Magnus grunted in pain, frowning slightly, "How did you learn to bite in Southern City? It's one thing to conspire with Karen to cheat me out of money, but who taught you to bite?"
He hadn't been on guard against Juniper and didn't expect her to bite him.
And so hard.
A faint taste of blood spread in his mouth.
He stared into Juniper's bright, watery eyes, seeing her remain silent, glaring at him fiercely, with a hint of red at the corners of her eyes.
She said word by word, "You taught me extortion, and I learned from you that there's no business without deceit."
Hearing this, Magnus lightly curled his lips, "But biting isn't something you learned from me, is it?"
"You've bitten me before. What's wrong with me biting you once?"
He pressed his forehead against hers, laughing in exasperation, "So, you're using what you learned from me against me?"
"You deceived me, you hid things from me first. So what if you're poisoned? Does being poisoned give you the right to kidnap Jenny and force me to go to Solara? Does being poisoned give you the right to push me away, hide things from me, and keep me in the dark?"
Magnus responded in a low voice, "Sorry, I was wrong."
Juniper swallowed the lump in her throat and continued, "You thought you were dying, so you made choices for me, setting me up with Ronald and forcing me to go to Solara. Magnus, who do you think you are to keep me in the dark and make decisions for me?"
Magnus softly replied, "I also want to know who I am to you now."
It sounded like a rhetorical question, or maybe he was asking himself.
Juniper choked, stunned for a moment.
She realized what he meant and got even angrier, "If you weren't so lucky to survive, were you planning to trap Jenny and me in Solara for the rest of our lives? Not even let us know about your funeral? Letting me wait for you foolishly in Solara forever?"
Juniper rarely shouted at anyone like this.
Her reserved and introverted nature meant she usually kept her emotions in check.
Especially with him, Juniper had always been gentle.
But gentleness didn't mean she had no temper, nor did it mean Magnus could arrange her life like a puppet.
Juniper's eyes reddened, tears falling from her eyes, utterly broken.
She looked at Magnus and said, "After returning from the open sea, I was completely honest with you and tried to trust you fully. Otherwise, I wouldn't have agreed to go to Solara with Jenny, and I wouldn't have chosen to trust you even after you pretended to kidnap Jenny."
"But Magnus, when a person continuously trusts you without receiving positive feedback and responses, this one-sided trust, even if it seems unbreakable, will eventually crumble. I trusted you, but you kept secrets from me and never trusted me."
"There were so many chances for you to be honest with me. When I asked if you were also poisoned, you could have told me everything, but you decided to hide it again and again."
"Yes, you did it for my sake. But I don't think it's good for me. In this relationship, I don't feel needed by you. In your subconscious, I am a burden, so you left Jenny and me in Solara."
"Magnus, did you ever think about telling me about your poisoning and facing it together with me?"
"I'm not as strong as you, but what gives you the right to make decisions for me unilaterally? If you think I'm a burden, you could have told me directly, and I would have cooperated and left Crestoria! In those six years without you, I managed to survive with Jenny and my foster mother! Magnus, I'm not as strong as you, but I'm not as weak as you think."
Juniper's voice was loud.
In the empty, abandoned factory, it echoed heavily, piercing Magnus's eardrums.
She poured out all her frustrations in one go.
The annoyance and anger that had been weighing on her chest for days burst out in an instant.
The gloom in her chest seemed to be blown away by a strong wind.
She felt instantly relieved.
Her chest heaved violently, like a stubborn little beast, glaring at Magnus.
Magnus didn't get angry but laughed, "Are you done talking?"
Juniper felt like she had punched a pillow.
Magnus grabbed her slender wrist, pulling her close, his lips almost touching hers.
He looked down at her, a smile spreading in his dark eyes, "Still not satisfied?"
"Want to bite me a few more times?"
Juniper was suddenly deflated, opening her mouth but doing nothing.
Magnus chuckled, "Little puppy, not biting anymore?"
"I'm not a puppy!"
He brushed her hair back with his large hand, his gaze filled with affection, "Biting so fiercely, aren't you a little puppy?"
Juniper glared at him, broke free from his hand, and started to walk away in her high heels.
However, her high heel crushed the pair of glasses on the ground.
Juniper was startled, slowly moving her foot away. The glasses were shattered under her heel...
Magnus raised an eyebrow slightly, "How are you going to compensate me?"
She hurried to explain, "I didn't mean to."
The light was dim, and she really hadn't seen the ground clearly.
But why was Magnus wearing glasses?
She remembered his vision was always good, and he never wore glasses.
But with the silver-framed glasses, he looked even more refined, like a wolf in sheep's clothing.
"I'll get you a new pair..."
Magnus grabbed her hand, interlocking their fingers tightly, "Without the glasses, I can't see the road now, Juniper. You have to take responsibility."
Juniper waved her hand in front of his eyes.
Magnus didn't blink.
It seemed like a real problem, not a joke.
"What's wrong with your eyes?"
"The toxin has accumulated in my body for too many days, and the residual poison hasn't cleared. I was blind for a while."
He stated the fact lightly.
But Juniper felt a tightness in her chest, "Blind?"
That serious?
Sensing her shock, Magnus explained, "My vision is slowly recovering, but without the glasses and with the dim light here, I can't see the road."
The path outside the abandoned factory wasn't a smooth concrete road but a gravel path, somewhat uneven.
Juniper held his arm, reminding him, "The road is uneven, be careful."
Magnus enjoyed her support, his lips curling slightly, "You need to drive me back to the hotel."
Juniper didn't respond immediately.
Magnus thought she was unwilling and said, "If you hadn't crushed my glasses, I might have been able to drive myself back to the hotel. But now, I'm as good as a blind man driving."
