Chapter 137 Is Lyra's Death Related to You?

Joseph got into the car and carefully glanced at the man in the back seat through the rearview mirror.

The man in the back seat lowered his eyes, pinching the small pearl earring and turning it gently.

Seemed lost in thought. Joseph asked, "Mr. Blackwood, do you want to catch up with Ms. Beaumont? She just left, if I drive faster, we should be able to catch up."

The atmosphere stagnated for a few seconds.

Magnus cleared his throat, and chuckled hoarsely, "She doesn’t want it."

His voice paused. "She doesn't want to come to me anymore."

He wanted to go towards her. But now, the further he went, the further she retreated.

He could only stop.

Joseph didn't know how to comfort his boss. After a moment of contemplation, he hesitated, "Mr. Blackwood, you and Ms. Beaumont, knew and loved each other from a young age, and have experienced so much together, the memories you share are unique and unforgettable, no one could replace the place you hold in each other's hearts. Many people don’t have the chance to experience this their entire life. My wife also once wanted to leave me, although our story was not as complex as yours. In the eyes of many, my marriage life is happy. But it’s just one side of the story.”

“People get tired. You guys have gone through so much. I guess Ms. Beaumont is tired. That’s normal. When people are tired, they tend to avoid feelings.”

"No matter what happened before, Ms. Beaumont must have loved you, Mr. Blackwood, otherwise, she wouldn't have given birth to Jennifer. She wouldn’t really move on so easily. She will love you again someday.”

"Just like you love pizza, Mr. Blackwood. You won’t eat it only once, right? When you enjoy something, you have it again and again. The same is true when it comes to people. You love someone, and you decide that you don’t love them anymore. But you can’t lie to your nature. When you see them again, you just can’t help falling in love again.”

“When she falls in love with you again, you’ll have your new chance. She could go back to you.”

Magnus turned the silver ring on his ring finger.

The corners of his eyes were finally tinged with red.

Joseph didn't understand.

How much Magnus wanted to be with Juniper in the past, he also thought that they should be together, but they never truly were together.

He wished he wasn’t Magnus, and Juniper wasn’t Alexander's daughter.

At Maple Villa.

When Patricia returned, she saw Sinclair making dinner in the kitchen.

Patricia glanced disdainfully at her. "You can cook and my brother may like it. But what else do you have? You can’t change where you are from. So give up. You’ll never be good enough for my brother."

She looked at the fruit on the counter and was about to pick up a piece with a fork.

Sinclair took it away.

"What are you doing?"

Sinclair smirked. "Fruit cut by someone of my low status isn't worthy to enter your noble mouth."

"You!"

She clenched the fork, glaring at Sinclair in embarrassment and anger. "I was just reminding you, you know? My brother’s first love was dead. You can never compete with a dead person, you know that, right?"

Sinclair's eyes trembled, "Do you mean Juniper?"

"You know her. My brother must have been repeating her name when he was with you, right?”

Sinclair was puzzled. "Isn’t Juniper dead?"

"Don't you know? That bitch Juniper jumped into the sea a year ago and died. They didn’t even find her body."

When she mentioned the words " They didn’t even find her body," Patricia was visibly happy.

She hated Juniper.

Why would Magnus love someone like Juniper?

Sinclair furrowed her brows, "We had dinner with Juniper just last week, she's not dead."

"What?"

The fork in her hand fell to the ground, making a crisp sound.

Michael happened to come back.

"What are you talking about? Patricia, did you cause trouble?"

Patricia hurried over to Michael and asked, "Michael, is Juniper still alive? Did you see her?"

At this, Michael's brow furrowed slightly.

"Are you trying to cause trouble for Juniper again? Juniper has finally come back alive, you better stay away from her. If you dare to bully her, Magnus won't let you off."

Patricia was shocked.

"Juniper is still alive, she's actually still alive."

Michael's brow furrowed even deeper. "Patricia, you're not a kid anymore. Stop thinking of Magnus. I've told you countless times. He’d rather stay single than choose you. Not to mention that now that Juniper is back, so stop daydreaming."

"No, they can't get back together! Magnus's mother killed Juniper's mother! How could they ever be together?"

Patricia’s eyes sparkled with excitement when she thought of this. Michael was taken aback. He scrutinized Patricia, "Did Juniper's mother accidentally fall down the stairs?"

After Lyra's death, Juniper never mentioned this incident. Magnus also never brought it up. They both believed Lyra's death was just an accident.

"I don't remember who told me, maybe Ophelia? I forgot."

"Ophelia never mentioned it, not even Robert knows about it. How could Ophelia know?"

"Juniper told her! What's so strange about that? Maybe I got it wrong!"

Michael sensed something amiss. He stared at Patricia coldly. "Come with me to the study."

Patricia bit her lip, looking flustered. She had let slip something she shouldn't have.

Sinclair watched as the siblings entered the study. She had overheard their conversation but only caught bits and pieces. Curious, she followed them upstairs.

The study door was tightly shut, and voices inside were hushed.

Inside the study, Michael questioned, "Even Robert and I don’t know this. How did you find out?"

Patricia stood there, trembling.

She didn't speak, appearing powerless to argue back.

Michael's brow twitched sharply.

He lowered his voice, gritting his teeth, "Is Juniper's mother's death related to you?"

She grabbed his arm, her voice trembling, " Michael, listen to me, it wasn't me. I just saw it, but I was too scared to say anything. It was Ava. She accidentally pushed Juniper's mother. I don't know if Juniper knows, but I don’t dare to tell anyone so I didn’t! You all thought it was an accident, Magnus and Juniper must think so too!"
