Chapter 132 Scheming
Ronald's voice on the other end of the phone became a bit more serious, "Mr. Blackwood?"
"What's the matter, Mr. Ronald?"
In the confrontation, Magnus's voice also cooled by a few degrees
The phone felt like a battlefield.
"Mr. Blackwood, can I talk to Quinn?"
Quinn? There's no Quinn here, only Juniper.
"Sorry, she's not available."
With that said, Magnus hung up. Ronald called again. Magnus hung up directly. Then he deleted Ronald's incoming call from history.
By the time Juniper finished work, it was already time for lunch. She took off the suit jacket from her shoulders and handed it to Magnus. "Thank you."
With work over, she naturally wanted to leave. Just as she turned around, she heard the man behind her ask in a deep voice, "Are you sure you want to leave like this?"
Juniper didn't understand.
"Mr. Blackwood, is there anything else?"
Magnus draped the suit jacket back to her shoulders.
"It's hot outside, I don't need it."
She was about to take it off. The man's distinctively large hands had already straightened the jacket on her. "There's blood on your pants, are you sure you don't need it?"
Her face went from pale to flushed red in an instant. Her health had been declining, with poor lung function and irregular periods in recent months. Her period, which had been delayed by a week, had started unexpectedly today. She only had a small sanitary pad in her bag.
It was very embarrassing that her pants were stained in public. Especially because she was wearing light blue jeans, bloodstains would be highly visible.
"Is it very noticeable?"
The man lowered his eyes and said seriously, "Yes."
Juniper read only one message from his expression. Without his suit jacket, she couldn't even leave the recording studio. She wondered how badly her pants were stained.
She hesitated for two seconds, took a deep breath, and said, "Mr. Blackwood, can I keep your jacket today?”
"No."
He refused without any hesitation.
Was Magnus only a gentleman in front of her girlfriend or wife?
Wouldn’t he even be kind to her ex-girlfriend?
Juniper sighed in resignation, "Mr. Blackwood, I will wash the jacket and return it to you later, or I can buy you a new one."
"But I need to attend a high-level meeting later, the conference room is very cold. I need to dress formally. If you take my jacket, what should I wear?"
Juniper was almost going crazy. Was this Magnus's retaliation? It seemed a bit childish.
She told herself, ‘Forget it, I don’t need it. I’ll be a joke for a while, no one would see once I got in the car.’
She was about to take off the suit jacket on her shoulders and give it back to him when she heard the man speak in a deep voice.
"However, I have your clothes in my office. You can go there to change into something clean, so you don't have to take my jacket."
That was a bit too much. But compared to the embarrassment of a large blood stain on her pants, Juniper compromised a bit.
They walked back from Building 6 to Building 1. Magnus walked ahead, and Juniper followed behind, with her head lowered and his jacket on her shoulders.
"I received the 11 thousand."
"I'll transfer it to you once I receive the 2 million."
She couldn’t understand why he bothered to send her the 2 million. She would have to transfer it back anyway.
It only stayed in her account for only a few hours.
They entered the high-level exclusive elevator. Magnus stood on the left, Juniper on the right. It felt like there was a Pacific Ocean between them. The elevator doors closed slowly."
On the elevator door, the shadows of two people were reflected.
The elevator reached the sixth floor and came to a stop.
The door opened, and the senior executive from the marketing department entered. "Mr. Blackwood, hello."
Magnus nodded slightly.
After the head of the marketing department came in, he stood in the middle of them.
After standing for a while, he sensed something was off.
He used to think that this executive elevator was quite spacious, but now, why did it suddenly feel so crowded?
Where three people go, there's bound to be a third wheel.
The head of the marketing department felt as if ants were crawling all over his body, extremely uncomfortable. He was definitely not socially anxious; he had a high sense of atmosphere.
The current atmosphere was making everyone uncomfortable.
He glanced at Juniper standing on the right, trying to find a topic to quickly get through these long seconds. "Mr. Blackwood, who is this lady?"
"My ex-girlfriend."
He sounded serious and didn’t even look at the person when he said that.
The head of the marketing department took a deep breath and swallowed several times.
He tried to digest this sensational news.
Mr. Blackwood actually casually revealed a big piece of news in the elevator!
He had to hold back, absolutely hold back his excitement!
In a few seconds, when he got off the elevator, he would share this news with the entire group!
This time, he was the first to know!
No one would dare to say he's behind on the news again.
The elevator reached the fifteenth floor.
The head of the marketing department said, "Um, Mr. Blackwood, I've arrived, I'll go first, see you."
He waved to Magnus and greeted Mr. Blackwood's ex-girlfriend with a smile.
Juniper could only force a smile back.
The elevator doors closed again.
Juniper finally spoke, "What you just said wasn't good for your image."
"What's wrong? I'm an adult. Is there a problem that I had an ex-girlfriend? Or should I tell him you're my child's mother?"
‘Ex-girlfriend sounded better.’
She came to SY to record as "Harper Beaumont."
The news would damage both of their reputations.
Plus, she just agreed to appear on a romance reality show.
She didn't want any unnecessary trouble.
The elevator reached the 26th floor.
Juniper followed Magnus into the office lounge.
They had a brief entanglement a year ago, although it was an improper relationship.
There were a few of her old clothes in the lounge cabinet.
She didn't expect that Magnus still kept them.
She took a clean pair of jeans and was about to change.
"Do you need a pad?" the man suddenly spoke.
She didn't have one, but she definitely needed to change, "Can I order takeout? I'll wait here for a while."
He simply said "okay" and left the lounge.
Juniper sat on the toilet waiting for the takeout.
She found a convenience store a few hundred meters away and the delivery was relatively quick.
About ten minutes passed.
Juniper didn't check her phone, unaware if the delivery had arrived.
The bathroom door suddenly pushed open.
She had her pants off, wiping away those bloodstains.
Magnus looked at her bare legs and his gaze deepened.
He stood there holding the sanitary pad, seeming momentarily stunned.
Juniper stood frozen in place.
