Chapter 233 Life and Death Together

Juniper slowly lifted her head, eyeing the dudes in black on the deck, each packing heat at their waist. Her pupils dilated.

On their left arms, they all had the same tattoo.

It looked like they were part of some big underground crew.

Right then, she was so helpless; these guys could off her with one shot.

But what freaked her out more than dying was what they'd do to Magnus when he showed up.

She looked wearily at Alexander. "Hey, since we're family, can I ask you for one thing?"

"Anything but sparing Magnus. Can't do that. Anything else, just say it, and I'll see what I can do."

Juniper smirked, "If Magnus dies, I won't live alone. I don't know how nasty these guys are, but please, don't let them rape me. Just make sure I have a quick death."

"Okay," Alexander nodded.

"And if you're gonna dump us in the sea, tie me to Magnus and sink us together."

Alexander shot her a pissed-off look, "Juniper, are you still hung up on this? I think Magnus has messed with your head! If you hadn't been all over him and married David Clarks, we wouldn't be in this mess!"

Juniper didn't want to fight. They were in international waters, surrounded by armed dudes in black on the yacht.

She knew the odds of making it out were slim to none.

Leaning against the railing, she begged, "I'm about to die. I'm your daughter. We know what's coming. Just give us a quick, clean death. That's all I'm asking."

Over the years, Juniper had rarely shown weakness to Alexander. This was the first time she had calmly asked him for something.

No matter how cold Alexander was, he couldn't help but be soft, "Alright, they won't touch you before Magnus gets here. Their main target is Magnus, so you'll get to see him one last time before you die. If you're thirsty or hungry, I can get you some water and food."

Juniper laughed bitterly.

Was this her real dad?

All her life's hardships almost all came from Alexander.

The sad part was, this guy was her real dad.

In the next life, she didn't want to be Alexander's daughter.

Meanwhile, Magnus and Paul set off in a speedboat, following the route.

Before leaving, Magnus dialed a number he knew by heart, "Elbert Perry, you said you owed me one. No matter what I asked, you'd do it, right?"

A strong middle-aged voice came from the phone, "What are you trying to rope me into?"

Magnus's eyes darkened, "I need the mobilization order for Agency 719."

"I do plan to pass Agency 719 on to you, but I haven't retired yet. If you take over now, what will I do? Go back home and farm? Why the sudden change of heart?" Elbert asked.

"To save someone."

"Now?"

"Yeah, right now. No delays."

On the other end, Elbert was calm, "Alright, this is a test for you. But after this, no more excuses! You gotta take over Agency 719!"

"Of course, I owe you big time. Thank you," Magnus said.

"You better not back out! But can you tell me where you're going to save someone? Why do you need the power of Agency 719?"

"I am en route to international waters to rescue my wife," Magnus replied.

"When did you get hitched?" Elbert sounded confused.

Magnus chuckled, "If I make it back, I'll invite you to the wedding."

"Alright, I'll get the ball rolling, but you better not flake on me!"

Magnus nodded, "I won't."

Agency 719 was another underground gig, but they were the good guys, serving justice and Crestoria.

The top dogs at Agency 719 had the power to call the shots and mobilize the crew.

Agency 719 was like a secret club, with members who had mad skills and killer aim. Their backgrounds were all over the place, and no one knew how Elbert picked them.

For example, Elbert picked Magnus up after a background check while he was doing time.

Seven years ago, Magnus got thrown in the slammer. It was a big deal because he had gotten into the University of Imperial Capital as the top scorer and was on his way to a Ph.D. If things hadn't gone south, he would've been a big shot at the university.

Not long after he got locked up, Elbert came to recruit him personally.

Guys like Magnus, who had been in prison, weren't rare in Agency 719. There was the youngest hacker in the Agency 719, who had once cracked a bank system and was recruited by Elbert, going from a notorious criminal to a star.

Elbert picked Magnus because of his killer memory and sharp eye for the financial market. Elbert could've pulled him out of prison right away, but he made him serve the full three years to toughen him up.

During that time, Elbert gave him tough tasks, making him a leader in the prison.

Magnus not only got physically strong but also learned to shoot from Elbert himself.

Elbert always said that talent was great, but without self-defense skills, it was useless.

For instance, the old Magnus, even though he was a genius, got thrown in prison because of Alexander.

Agency 719 was the polar opposite of the Shadow Syndicate.

So, when the Shadow Syndicate, not knowing about Magnus's ties to Agency 719, tried to recruit him, he turned them down flat.

Alexander faked his death to bust out of prison and managed to kidnap Juniper to international waters. With Alexander's current power, he couldn't have done it alone.

Juniper had mentioned on the phone that those guys had guns. Magnus figured Alexander had used the Shadow Syndicate's muscle to snatch Juniper.

The sea was shrouded in darkness.

But the luxury yacht was lit up like a Christmas tree.

The sound of waves crashing.

Juniper leaned against the railing, looking pale.

Alexander checked his watch, "It's nine o'clock! One hour left until the deadline. Juniper, if Magnus doesn't show, not only will you be heartbroken, but my mission will also tank!"

Juniper sneered, "I won't be heartbroken if he doesn't come. If he does, that's when your plan will work."

"You should think about any last words you want to leave! Maybe I can help you with them!"

Juniper thought about what she should say to Magnus when she saw him later.

After all, it might be the last time they see each other.
