Chapter 257 Happy Newlyweds
The two of them slipped under the covers.
Magnus's hot breath was almost scorching. Juniper turned around and hugged him tight, their breaths mingling instantly.
His big hand pressed against her waist, leaving marks on her skin.
Juniper was already dizzy from the kissing, her face flushed and dazed.
Magnus, however, kept a shred of rationality. "Should I use a condom?"
Juniper was about to say something when he lowered his head to block her lips, one hand holding the back of her head, the other reaching to the bedside table for a condom.
In the deep autumn of Imperial Capital, the nights were always chilly. Juniper, having had a lung disease, was always weak and extremely afraid of the cold. Every year during this season, her hands and feet would be icy cold.
In the past, Magnus was her human heater.
Juniper unconsciously clung to him, her hands touching his penis, which was burning hot.
Magnus tore open the package, placed it in her hand, and whispered in her ear, "Help me put it on, okay?"
"I don't know how."
"I'll teach you."
The blanket rose and fell.
The room was well soundproofed, and only faint, suppressed breaths and soft moans could be heard.
The next morning, at Maple Villa, Sinclair wore a very photogenic white dress under a long coat, and after applying light makeup and lipstick, she stood in front of Michael. "How do I look for registering our marriage?"
"Not bad."
He looked at her, a trace of hesitation and unease in his eyes.
But Sinclair didn't notice. She took his arm and said, "Let's go then. It's Tuesday, so there shouldn't be many people at the County Clerk's Office. Did you bring all the documents?"
Michael didn't move. "Sinclair, I did propose to you because I want to marry you, but if you think it's too rushed..."
The smile on Sinclair's face stiffened slightly. "Do you not want to marry me anymore?"
Seeing her disappointment, Michael explained, "No, I just think the weather is bad today."
Sinclair smiled and said, "Mr. Johnson, I believe that love makes every day a good day."
"You're right. Let's do it today." Michael held her hand.
On the way to the County Clerk's Office, Michael seemed a bit distracted.
It wasn't that he didn't want to register their marriage, but he was afraid that if Sinclair found out that the person who hurt her was Patricia, she might hate him.
He wasn't even sure if Sinclair would still be as determined to marry him if she regained her memory.
Michael was driving.
Sinclair remembered something. A few days ago, considering that Mila was alone back home, Michael had sent her two million dollars as compensation.
Although she knew that two million dollars might not be much to Michael, it made Sinclair feel uneasy.
Because of this, she had argued with Mila, but Mila said that since she had gotten pregnant out of wedlock, Michael had some responsibility. Now that the baby was gone, it was just compensation. She also told her not to be foolish, as the money could be used for emergencies in the future.
She knew that Mila was worried that she would suffer, and since two million dollars was indeed a small amount for Michael, she didn't object.
What she didn't expect was that Michael not only didn't object but also sent Mila two million dollars directly.
Mila had called her at the time, asking if Michael had made a mistake when transferring the money.
But Michael had told Mila, "I didn't take good enough care of Sinclair before. This money isn't for Sinclair; she uses my card and doesn't lack money. It is a token of my appreciation. Please keep it for yourself."
When Sinclair heard these words, her heart pounded.
She hadn't expected to be so lucky to meet someone who loved her so much.
Sitting in the passenger seat, she turned slightly to look at Michael and said, "My mom only asked for two hundred thousand dollars. Why did you send her two million? When she saw it at the bank, she thought she was mistaken and checked several times. Isn't that too much as compensation? She doesn't spend much back home and doesn't need that much money."
Michael glanced at her, smiling warmly. "After we get married, you'll be spending most of your time in Imperial Capital. Your dad passed away, and your mom is all alone in Oakvale County. I checked the housing prices in your hometown, and a nice 1,000-square-foot house costs over a million dollars. When she gets older, it'll be more convenient for her to live in the city for medical care. You can ask her to buy a new house. That way, when we visit her, it'll be more convenient for us to stay there. If the money isn't enough for the house she likes, let me know, and I'll send more."
Sinclair looked at him, biting her lip, her eyes slightly red and teary.
It was impossible not to be moved.
"Why are you so good to me?"
"We're about to be legally married. It's only right for me to be good to you."
Besides, he owed her so much.
It was Patricia who caused the accident, but her brother can't escape the blame for how she turned out. He was her older brother; he should have guided her better.
But Sinclair didn't know. She seemed to be in a beautiful dream, and Michael's kindness to her felt unreal.
She said half-jokingly, "You're so good to me, I almost don't want to fight with you anymore. And even if we do argue, I'll have to wonder if it's mostly my fault."
Michael freed one hand to hold hers, comforting her, "Why think about arguing? Maybe we'll never argue."
She nodded emphatically.
At that moment, Sinclair was captivated by Michael's tenderness and firmly believed that no matter what happened in the future, Michael would handle their relationship well and stay committed.
Meeting Michael and marrying him was, so far, the happiest and luckiest thing in her life.
When they arrived at the County Clerk's Office.
After filling out their personal information, the staff entered their details into the system.
The staff member asked symbolically, "Are you getting married voluntarily?"
"Yes."
"Yes."
"It's not too late to regret it now. Once I stamp this, if you regret it later, you'll have to go through the divorce process. If there are no other issues, I'll stamp it now!"
Sinclair held Michael's hand and smiled. "We don't regret it. Go ahead and stamp it."
The seal was stamped heavily.
They were now legally married.
The staff handed them their marriage certificates. "Congratulations to both of you. Happy newlyweds."
