Chapter 341 Mutual Destruction
A cold, silver gun barrel pressed heavily against Juniper's waist.
Her phone was still ringing.
The woman driving spoke harshly, "Answer it, put it on speaker!"
Juniper's heart raced as she tried to stay calm and answered the call.
Karen's voice came through the phone, "Quinn, where are you? I was knocked out this afternoon! A woman who looks exactly like me has infiltrated my office."
Before Juniper could respond.
The woman driving had already commanded, "Tell Magnus to come to the old chemical plant in the north of the city! He has half an hour, if he's late, Juniper's dead!"
After hanging up the phone.
The red Ferrari quickly sped through the neighborhood, heading towards the desolate northern part of the city.
This person was extremely familiar with the routes in Southern City, wielded such a dangerous weapon, and could disguise her appearance. The only group connected to both her and Magnus that came to mind was the Shadow Syndicate.
Juniper's heart pounded, "Are you Sophie?"
After being recognized by Juniper, Sophie stopped pretending. She pressed the gun against Juniper's forehead and forced her into the old chemical plant.
She raised her hand, tore off the thin mask, and yanked off the wig, tossing it aside to reveal her true face, "Juniper, we meet again!"
The ground here was completely wet.
The air was filled with the pungent smell of gasoline.
Sophie took out a lighter, igniting a dangerous flame.
The firelight flickered across Juniper's face, highlighting her tension and pallor.
Sophie sneered, "Magnus dared to play me, so I'll let him taste what it's like to lose the one he loves most! As soon as I throw this lighter on the ground..."
Seeing her nearly out of control, Juniper frowned and advised, "If you ignite the gasoline, neither of us will escape! Sophie, calm down! You were the one who poisoned my dad first. Even if there was trickery, you tricked us first! When did Magnus ever play you?"
At this, the gun barrel pressed harder against Juniper's temple.
"He didn't play me? He's a master schemer! First, he pretended to team up with me to get the antidote, tricked me into revealing the central location of the Shadow Syndicate's largest base in Avelonia, and took the map I drew for him! We agreed that one of the antidotes would be mine! But what did he give me? Poison!"
Thinking of Martin's tragic death, Sophie became agitated, her eyes bloodthirsty, filled with hatred and sorrow.
Juniper was puzzled, "You and Magnus had no enmity. He promised you the antidote. Even if he broke his promise, he wouldn't give you poison to harm you!"
Sophie loudly questioned, "Then why are he and Christopher still alive! There were only two antidotes! He and Christopher each took one! Ungrateful, huh? I'll make him understand the consequences of betraying us mercenaries who live on the edge!"
Juniper was stunned, pondering her words, and hesitantly asked, "Magnus... was poisoned too?"
"He initially agreed to team up with me because he was dying! There were only two antidotes, and he and Christopher are still alive. If he didn't play me, then what? Human greed is natural, everyone wants to survive! But in our circle, a promise to ally is a matter of life and death. He did this, so he must face the consequences!"
So, Magnus repeatedly pushed her away, forcing her to go to Solara, because he thought he was dying?
Just as Juniper was in a daze, a tall figure emerged from the darkness, stepping through the snow.
Sophie grabbed Juniper's slender, fragile neck, the loaded gun aimed directly at Juniper's temple.
One shot, and she would be dead.
