Chapter 112: She is the Reason for all His Uncool Emotions
The next morning, it was drizzling in Lindwood City. At Lindwood City Airport, people were coming and going, mostly travelers in a hurry. Christopher and Jerry personally escorted Juniper to the airport terminal.
"Juniper, have a safe journey. When you reach the Mayo Clinic, give us a call."
Juniper nodded, "Okay, Christopher, take care of yourselves."
Christopher waved his hand, "It's getting late. You should check yourself in."
Juniper held her ticket and passport, heading toward the international check-in counter.
Meanwhile, Magnus and Joseph also entered the airport terminal, but they were headed to the domestic check-in counter for their flight to Imperial Capital.
Just as they were about to enter the boarding gate, Juniper turned back for a final glance.
Having lived in this country for twenty-four years, it was only natural that she would feel a sense of loss upon leaving. The road ahead was uncertain, and life and death unpredictable. She wasn't sure when she would return, if ever.
She took one last nostalgic look. At the same time, Magnus, who was about to enter the VIP lounge, instinctively paused. He looked back. Almost at the same moment, Juniper turned into the international check-in gate.
In an instant, amidst the surging crowd, their figures intertwined, soon disappearing from each other's sight in the sea of people. They were no longer visible to each other.
Magnus walked toward the left side of the airport while Juniper headed toward the right.
Before the plane took off, Magnus sat in business class, opening his old black phone. He opened the gallery, filled with photos of Juniper.
When they were in love, she always liked to take selfies with his phone. They had many photos together. However, most of the time, he was focused on work while she sat beside him, secretly capturing countless moments between them.
The plane was about to take off. Magnus turned off his phone. He knew she might not be around anymore, but that didn't stop him from waiting for her.
Jennifer was still young, and he shouldn't indulge in the past, sinking gradually into endless waiting. He would continue searching, but he no longer held any expectations. He would fulfill Juniper's last wish, raising Jennifer and providing her with enough fatherly love, ensuring Jennifer's safety and well-being.
As for him, he would not have a new life. Starting over was a luxury and a delusion without Juniper. Losing her was like losing his own life. How could he start living again?
A flight attendant approached with various beverages. "Sir, would you like something to drink?"
"Just water."
The flight attendant poured a glass of water and was about to hand it to Magnus when she suddenly noticed his hand trembling slightly.
"Sir, are you okay?"
Magnus clenched the trembling hand and said hoarsely, "I'm fine."
Lately, he had been taking too many lithium carbonate tablets, causing tremors in his hands. This wasn't the first time.
Juniper logged into a secret account and opened a private video. In the video, six years ago, Magnus was celebrating her birthday.
That night, they made vows to each other, warm words that comforted each other.
Magnus was usually reserved and not one for sweet talk. He had only said one romantic thing.
He said, "All my lack of calm, irrationality, and lack of restraint are all because of one person."
At that time, Juniper smiled and teasingly asked, "Who would that be?"
Magnus, with his deep black eyes, looked at her seriously and said, "A person named Juniper, my Juniper."
Before meeting Juniper, he was calm and rational. After meeting Juniper, she was the cause of all his lack of calm, irrationality, and lack of restraint. His emotions were so wild, even someone as stoic as him couldn't help but be engulfed.
At that moment, deep emotions surged in his eyes, as if wanting to look at her forever.
Juniper watched the old video, smiling and shedding tears. However, her actions seemed cold and distant.
Finally, she pressed the delete button. After six years, she needed to let go of the complex emotion of wanting to forget but not being able to.
"Miss, the plane is about to take off, please turn off your phone."
"Okay." Juniper logged out of the account and shut down her phone.
'Magnus, I finally have the heart to forget you.'
