Chapter 108
Eclipse
“Catch him!” Screamed Kaiden, trying his best not to hurt the little guy, but he was terrified. If only Isabelle knew that we were chasing a unicorn, one of Queen Sky’s children, even though she vowed a ‘vow of chastity’…. She has 5 children from the King of the Elves, a King ‘without’ a Queen… but heirs.
The Unicorn Queen was the official Speaker of the Kings… Through her purity, she was the only one who could talk to the Church of the Light’s leader, the Holy Seat. So they eloped in secret, but lived separately… and one day this fearful stallion would take her place.
He shifted, and turned into a thin man, hiding behind me. He was so white, he reflected the light, and his glittery light blue hair sparkled enough for me to see reflections even though he was shivering behind me.
“We don’t eat horse… or magical creatures.” Said Kaiden out of patience. Instead of delivering the message, the moment he got out the car, he shifted once he saw Alpha. “And step away from my mate.” He snarled showing his fangs, because the man clung to the back of my shirt in his shaking.
“Kaiden be nice.” I chastised, “What was the message Mr?”
“I’m The Second Son, Crown Prince Allister the Shining One… though I haven’t grown enough horn to grow wings… I’m only 803 ma’am” He said quietly.
Out the car, was an elf with the same blue hair, but he had white wings. “Now that my brother has finished acting as the family embarrassment, I am The First Son, Nanotori, The Glimmering One, Crown Prince of Elves, My lord and lady.” He said with a toothy fanged smile. They looked like twins, only one could shift, while the other could not.
“And I am Alpha Kaiden, The Charred one. Crown Prince of Wolves. What the Fuck do you want before I change my damn mind on letting you both breathe.” He snarled showing his fangs. It was a bluff, any wolf worth his salt knew that… but they weren’t wolves, they were elf-unicorn hybrids.
The first son seemed to be offended by Kaiden’s temper, but wasn’t strong enough to do anything about it… at least not physically. They smelled magical, and with light themed titles, there was no telling what they could do. He cleared his throat. “We are here, by the orders of the Center Seat, King Ashital, fellow lord, to hold the Court of the Crown Princes here at your… humble home, that you may begin to perform duties to your people.” He said, looking at the packhouse as if it were a shack.
“My pups are in school right now, so where’s everyone else to get this shit over with. Oh and ponyboy, I want you to shift about 2:30 and trot around the packhouse.” Commanded Kaiden.
“Don’t tell my brother what to-” Kaiden cut him off.
“This is my territory visitor. I will die and be tormented by the Horned One a second time before I kneel to my lesser. You clowns will meet me in my office, during office hours. Whoever was running this shit show, I’m running it now.” He growled. They had roused his inner pride as an Alpha, and Lady knows I wasn’t going to get involved.
“…. Bold of you to assume I am your lesser… even bolder to assume I will give you the Princes’ Center Seat.” Said the first son. Nanatori’s expression was firm. A sword appeared from nowhere, and he glowed a bright white. Kaiden’s eyes became that of the Prince, and he blew ashes and black steam out his nose and mouth. I didn’t know he could do that, and I was surprised.
Kaiden shifted, biting the sword and twisting it around by shifting, pinning him in the dirt. He put both his hands behind Nanatori’s back with one hand. With his free hand, he shoved his face in the dirt. All the commotion caused many of the packhouse members to come out, and I blinked twice at the wind shift… he had lost control of himself. If Nanatori moved, he would probably die.
Cars also rolled into the driveway, to see Kaiden take a deep breath, and howled dominance before his eyes were red with his wolf, then he reverted to normal. “You will not disrespect again.” He snarled, getting off him. Other Princes of the court came out their cars, and I felt a little out of place. They brought their mates, pets, and even servants, all seemingly expecting the Heir to the Center King’s Seat to live in some kind of castle like his grandfather.
They bowed before Kaiden, while he stood butt naked along with the unicorn prince. Everyone was so enamored by the fight, that they forgot to toss them pants. The pants came after everyone got a full view. I wasn’t complaining, and in his boxers he led them to his office, while Connor picked up the pups from school.
I followed them, but they seemed to be somewhat upset that I was there. I saw no women, other than the Princess of the Witches. The mates of these men were downstairs, and they assumed that I would be there as well. Shelly got some extra chairs, and Kaiden rolled my office chair next to his. He also slipped on some slacks.
“I mean no disrespect,” Motioned the Vampire Prince Lucian, “Why is a female here?” He mentioned casually, drinking some coffee made for everyone, then making a disgruntled face. I had to admit... it was a tad strong.
“My mate holds more sway in this room than anyone in my kingdom.” Said Kaiden casually, the creator of the almost expresso.
The only one who seemed to like it was Rau’Nukuud, the prince of magical beasts. These were the creatures that were not able to hold a human form, nor held the intelligence of man. He was the Second Son of the Beast King, though I didn’t know what happened to his First. I didn’t know all the old stories as my mate did, and right now wasn’t the time to ask.
Also, it was a little hard to keep up with all the titles everyone had. Rau was a title, and the Beast Crown Prince had multiple names, but that was the one I remembered. It seemed all of them did. I felt out of place in my own home because of it.
“My Lord, we are here to discuss the awakening of the Old Ones. We are but memories of our predecessors, yet… they seem uninterested in protecting the realm a second time.” Said the Elf Prince Nanatori, who now was more respectful.
“Yes, King Jerold spoke of this.” Said Kaiden with a wave of his hand. Wolves are prideful, and if he wasn’t in charge, he would fight whoever was until he was anyway… clothed or naked… preferably naked. I heard a few snickers. I had been pryed, and I did not like it. “Baby girl… behave.” He warned, growling in my ear lightly. He set me on fire in the middle of a meeting… Lady.
There was a bloodcurdling scream of a small child, followed by tiny pup’s snarls.
“Momma! Daddy! Caleb Bit me!” Screamed Isabelle crying fat tears.
“Mom She told me TOO She She started it!!” He snarled, showing his little fangs. There was blood on his mouth.
“Mommy he took Daisy and I tried to get it back and he ripped her look mommy look!” she ran past everyone and showed me Daisy, the little stuffed unicorn Queen Sky gave her, made from her mane and coat clippings. Kaiden got the sewing kit out his desk and began fixing it.
“Son. Come here.” He commanded. Caleb walked to Kaiden’s desk, and stood there looking up at us with red eyes. “Raakshir. Glitter. Explain.” Said Rakaam, which made the rest nervous.
“I bit her because sister called me a freak.” He said flatly.
“I called brother a freak because he could not control his nature. Fuck You.” Said Glitter.
“Eat shit.” Growled Caleb’s wolf. They are 5 and 4 1/2…. They were about to fight.
Rakaam growled, which submitted them both. “I will not tolerate fighting.” He slammed his fist on the table. He got up, but continued to sew up Daisy. “Here. Finish Daisy and apologize to each other…. And I need to share words with my brother… and Kaiden…. On our words we use around our pups…” He said before switching. Kaiden rubbed the back of his neck.
“How?” His little red eyes blinked.
“Here.” Kaiden sat them both in his lap, and Isabelle switched to her normal amber-yellowed eyed self, still shedding a few more tears before calming down. He showed Raakshir how to sew. I assume Shelly taught him how to do that. “You both are going to be looked up to by every wolf alive, little ones. I do not like this. Love your littermates, they will be the only ones you can trust.” He said calmly. Kaiden didn’t scream at them, nor punish them…. he did it my way, and it worked. Isabelle hugged her little brother, and he continued to sew.
“…. I’m sorry Caleb… I shouldn’t have called you names because you broke Daisy…” She said looking down.
“I should not have tried to kill it. It is a toy…. But it smells good.” He Admitted before his eyes turned blue. His tiny claws came out as he fixed Daisy, and Kaiden did the last knot.
