Book 3: Chapter 46

A/n: Hi guys. He’s out the hospital to be taken care of until the 9th. He’s stable and wasn’t septic, so god willing he’ll get the second of I *think* 3 procedures. The urologist team at the hospital downtown specializes in this kind of thing. Both stones are about the size of a quarter. Both kidneys are infected, but they said that was normal. Just… idk how Jeff pretended to be fine so long. This accident was kind of a blessing in disguise.
Oh, and this isn’t inspired by him, but I can’t lie the coincidence is uncanny lol.
Zayde
The imp still tried to escape rather than talk, but Haru put his foot over his leg and pinned him down.
“Little one, I will break it if you keep struggling. Aptherraam won’t have to. You stand before the strongest behimonth.” Said Lord Haru. “Dare say the strongest demon you’ll ever see.”
He boasts in front of the little imp, but I knew better. If Gulteer were here, he would bow his head to his superiors. Alteer and Tinzaa I don’t know… Right now, he’s heavily injured, so much so that Tinzaa and Arcrraam were both weakened.
“Alright Lord Haru, that’s enough.” Said Tiffany. She used kindness, kneeling to the demon’s eye level. “Now… who is your master? You know we’ll find out eventually. You’re not made for combat.” She said the last part to appeal to reason.
The little red man was a rat demon. She was *absolutely right* too. The best an rat-imp can do against a true demon made for combat is die.
“…Wazi is not bound like the important…. Wazi was summoned and made to watch you … Wazi didn’t want to, but Wazi is too weak to have choice….” He said looking down.
Indeed, as a lower demon, an imp, a child with a little talent could summon him.
“Well, what’s his name?” I asked.
“Wazi wants a promise… no pain… and send me back.” He asked.
“So long as you tell no lies, you have my word that you will go home unharmed.” I said sitting up a little taller.
“….Wazi was summoned by Black Diamond…. Wazi was made to let them in… Ebbismari made Wazi do it… Wazi is too small to disobey orders.” He hissed like a snake, flinching when Haru sent him back.
“Get me out of this fucking bed!” I Shouted. “Ebbismari is Nadya Spellmore’s demon. That’s the only one I know who holds ‘Ebbis’ in their name.” I snarled. There was no bite at all… I was essentially useless like this.
Ebbis means ‘snake’. Befitting…
“Who?” Asked Tiffany.
“She’s a transfer from Red Diamond… Though I don’t understand… Why would she hold a grudge enough to do this?” I looked at my un-clawed hands…
She holds no relation to me, or Tiffany….
The only thing I could think of was maybe jealousy… But even that made *no* sense… She would be too weak to even THINK of such an honor….
I shook the supernatural world with Tiffany getting a coven. There hadn’t been a new one appointed since the living brothers of Alteer made their lines…
I should have knives on the ends of these fingers, not flat nails… It looked like I had a manicure.
I HURT trying to get up, but that little weasel needed to be found. It won’t take long to find out if she was still here.
“Zayde.” Warned Tiffany, but it was too late!
I didn’t pop a stitch, but the pain from trying to just sit up too fast made me lay my head back…. I wondered was this how humans felt. Without magic, that’s basically what we are. The Night Father deemed it fair that if we have such abilities, then we should have many weaknesses.
Well... being human was a bit of a stretch… but I think I could empathize with them now.
“Find them and bring them to me.” I panted, mentally counting to ten…
Usually by 8 or 9 pain like this would go away, but it was a dull ache all over. It did not fade, and I saw Casey’s mother come in with Hanz Jekel, one of the many doctors within their family.
He told her about the various medicines, and got her to inject me.
Now the pain subsided… I couldn’t heal this at all… I had no magic… It made me glad Haru didn’t leave, since I know whoever was plotting against us wouldn’t try anything with someone of his stature around. Grandfather was missing, but he was on a mission given to him by the Realm King.
There’s no telling what he was tasked to do or how long it would take.
“I can follow the scent of the imp. They didn’t exactly hide their trail….” Offered Haru.
“We don’t do Shit for free… What’s your price?” I asked.
If I would have just agreed, he would have done it first, then I would have had no choice but to honor terms not flushed out beforehand.
“I… I want to live up here. The air is sweet… The days are blue…. No one will miss me if I vanish for a few centuries, even forever.” He bowed his head to me… Haru is stronger than me by quite a bit. There’s also the fact I’m Injured…
He is not my demon, Haru is the one who should actually be bowed to in this case…Haru did not have to do that…
It made me hesitant to shake his extended hand.
“It would be a good match.” Said Aptherraam. It would also mean his child would be married to a very… *very* high ranked man.
That also means that Tinzaa would have a daughter...
We’d have a son. Sweet!
I don’t mind girls, but I always wanted a son… Originally, she could only make girls… but one day in the hopefully distant future, I would have an heir to this legacy. There’s no rush… time will forever flow in one direction. I want a daughter too… I want to be the doting father who spoils his little girls again. Whatever they wanted, I gave within reason.
I taught them every secret I knew, and in return I was rewarded with knowing Purple Diamond was secure…. Hellinia does so well. I am so proud of her… It’s times like this I miss being Stanley.
“I like it.” Said Tiffany. “It secures a *good* demon for our future child…Our firstborn will be a boy too… ” She looked a little shy about it, but I chuckled.
“I’m sure one day they will be grateful for it.” I said just in case. The Horned One might make a girl, but that would make our demons’ child a boy. “We agree. Your aid until this is finished for your attachment to our child. I know this has not been done before, but I know our child will be able to contain you.” I chuckled.
“Agreed.” Said Haru. “Their 25th Birthday I will come for them. That gives me time to get my affairs in order…I’ll give my lands to my eldest, and release my wives from service…They will understand… Each has their own estate anyway. That is more common than you think.”
“We know.” Said Tiffany with a light smile. “No one expects you to be single for eternity.”
“I am excited… You should have babies now.” He said impatiently. I could get his excitement. He’s getting a life Above and a pseudo-mate bond out of this… and I get a child who will have a behimoth as a familiar. We shook wrists.
Tiffany’s eyes became saucers from his words, and I got a painful, but light laugh from her shyness. We’d had children before…. But this would be her ‘first time’ since she does not remember.
“It’ll Happen When It Happens!” She blushed a ruby red. “What about Miss Spellmore?! You said you’d help so do that!” She squealed.
He laughed a while before he cleared his throat, and went back to business. “….The mortal fled, but I’m not below dragging them here by their tendons.” He stretched casually. “I’ll fly through the spirit world. If a priest does see me, at least their spears will hit half as hard.” He vanished.
“…. I didn’t know Haru could teleport.” Said Tiffany. I didn’t either… Demons can’t really cast magic like that… They aren’t made for it.
“He’s old as fuck…. Or maybe he had a master at some point.” I said more as a theory… I don’t remember ever seeing him…
I know someone would *brag* about that kind of thing like no tomorrow.
----Tiffany----
I looked at the girl Haru held by the shoulder.
“She came willingly. Well… after I broke her broom.” He said firmly. She looked proud, as if she had proof that she didn’t summon Wazi, and forced him to let the humans in
Why did she look… like mom? There was a bit of a resemblance…. They had the same eyes and nose.
Mom’s witch blood isn’t from here… it’s from Emerald. Interrogation below will pick apart whatever she’d done to sneak in here….. This is big, bigger than even the problem with the Church…
An enemy within is an unseen threat…
She had curly hair, but the color was wrong. It was black as ink, but her skin was a warm tan, more like mine than the pale witches here.
“Take her to the basement, and I’ll summon both Black And Red Diamond. Nobody leaves. They must all be checked.” I said as the leader I was. I was the leader of Yellow Diamond with my mate… We would do this together, even the unsavory bits nobody likes.
“I can’t use the teleportation pad… This is the 15th floor too…,” Said Zayde.
“You do realize I could carry you?” Said Aptherraam.
“You know what. Fine. I don’t want to walk.” He said sarcastically, raising his arms like a toddler that wanted to be picked up.
“…. Really master?” He asked with a raised brow. He smirked at Zayde’s nonsense. It was good to see that his pain didn’t ruin his sense of humor.
“I hold no shame. Carry me.” Zayde chuckled.
“You’re taking all the seriousness out of this. That’s *my* job.” Complained my demon, while Tinzaa kind of giggled.
“I could carry him.” She offered.
“No little mate. Let *me* do the heavy stuff. Your connection to him has you weakened more than I.” He snorted.
He was right, and in solidarity, I went the long way with them. Haru used the elevator. He had Miss Spellmore after all…
Spellmore… I had heard *of* that corny name, but *where*?
Damnit. I hated that I didn’t take my memories back, but I shouldn’t regret it.
My head spun in circles trying to think of anything, anything at all on how she got here… If she is not a dark witch, why does she smell like one? Why does she kind of look it too…?
