Chapter 40
Eclipse
The sun threw its shining rays in my face like I owed it money, and I grunted, rolling over to feel Alpha Kaiden’s side of the bed cold. That woke me up fully. He was already up and ready to go, and I had an appointment at noon to get my cast off. I would have one more day of bedrest, but I would be free of this thing!
That thought roused Shimmer, who pranced in my mind because it meant I might be able to shift again soon …
/Hurry hurry!/ She yipped happily.
/Give me a Chance!/ I replied just as revved up.
Getting ready, I put on a tank top, shorts, and brought flipflops. I wanted to be comfortable, and they were about as light as it got in the shoe department. We went downstairs, and I was greeted with the warrior’s and their pups were watching Puppy Police. It was Saturday, and everyone was relaxed.
We left by car, borrowing Gamma Branson’s. It was adorable! It was covered in unicorn stickers, but Kaiden was not as impressed. He glared at the car like it was his enemy, grunted and with an annoyed sigh, put me in the passenger side. The drive was short, and simple. He let me out and I sat in the waiting room.
The doctor came in with a small tool that looked like an electric toothbrush with the head of a miniature saw. It was so small, but I still was kind of nervous. “Good afternoon Alpha and Luna,” he greeted, “It looks like you’re all healed, but I wouldn’t strain it for at least today. If you have any soreness let me know, and I can give you another examination.” He said plainly after buzzing the cast off.
It had taken him all of one minute to release me from my captivity. I did a ballerina twirl on my good leg, and Alpha stopped me. “Babygirl be careful,” he scolded concerned. He picked me up and checked my leg in one swift motion, and I was still processing how he got to me so fast.
I was put down and he held my hand. We rode directly back to the packhouse, and he pulled into the garage, and opened the car door for me. Usually, I would go inside, but this time, I walked around to the back of the house to stretch my legs, and he followed a few feet away. The garden in the backyard was still nice, as it was still just barely warm enough to keep the flowers blooming. I saw a soccer ball. I had played a little bit as a kid, but I wasn’t able to keep up with the other pups in class, because they honestly were stronger than me.
I walked up to the ball and kicked it just for old time sake. It missed a female warrior’s head by inches, warranting her to get mad. “Who the fuck did that?” She growled throwing her arms in the air, which made Alpha growl, she nearly jumped out of her skin and apologized.
“Alpha kick it back!” I yell to him to distract him from getting too mad at her, she didn’t mean anything by it. And distracted he was, raising an eyebrow. “Winner picks the loser’s punishment.” I squealed, and I took off my flip flops and threw one at him, it missed terribly, but he could never turn down a challenge. He slowly walked over, grabbed the ball, and tossed it to me.
“So, you challenge your Alpha, little mate?” he smirked. The ball rolled down to my bare feet, and I looked at it, thinking about it. Fuck it, what’s the worst that could happen? I thought. “First to 3 points. I Dare Challenge” I growl, he growled deep and aggressively, and his demeanor completely changed. The warriors soon became a crowd and they were placing bets.
I was running for my life, but it was fun to be outside, even if he looked like he was going to eat me. I kicked the ball as hard as I could, hoping that he wouldn’t get it, but he ran over to it and kicked it past me. I tried getting in front of him, but he kicked it at the last second into the flowers.
The crowd cheered, and there was money exchanged between some of them. “Let’s go Luna!” Some screamed supportively.
“You can do it, Alpha!” Squealed others.
I stood now with determination in my stance. I eyed him with narrow eyes, it was my turn again and this time I wouldn’t let him win. I’m not a competitive person, but this was fun, and I wanted to keep going. I kicked the ball, this time trying to keep it close to me, and he got it with his foot in one swift motion and kicked it into the flowers again. He wouldn’t let me score a single point. It was 2 to 0.
“My Luna, I love the determination in your eyes.” Alpha growled lowly.
The hair stood up on the back of my neck, but Shimmer refused to back down. I did with her!
He had the ball, and he had his bare foot on top of it, daring me to try to get it from him. I ran at him, thinking it would take him by surprise, but he kicked it high in the air over me…. and it bounced into the flowers.
3 to 0.
Completely pooped and him beaming with pride that he won, he walked up to me and grabbed me, slinging me over his shoulder, taking me inside. “Winner picks the punishment.” He sang, with red flecks in his eye. He hummed in contentment and slapped me on the ass. My eyes grew wide, and of course, everyone had to just whistle and jeer. What did I get myself into?
He strutted up the stairs, not telling me anything as to his intentions. “What to do with you, little Luna.” he hummed, I was starting to get nervous, and I tried to wiggle out his arms. It was no use. He closed the door and locked it, and let out a lustful growl, breathing in my scent.
He threw me on the bed, and then jumped in himself next to me. Shimmer went wild begging him for more, while I was not liking the look in his eyes. They were full of mischief, and he leaned over and kissed me gently. His lips were so soft, and his touch set me on fire.
He kissed me down my neck, and continued down my stomach, and up again. It sent shivers down my spine. My skin tingled with every touch, and I wrapped my arms around him, getting on top of him without even realizing, my legs wrapped around his waist. He made me gasp on grabbing my inner thigh, and growled when he inhaled my scent. I was ready. I didn’t know what would happen, but I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him.
He rolled me over, making him on top, and got up, and covered me with the blanket. “Enjoy your punishment, babygirl.” he got his laptop, and sat up in the bed, opening pack emails.
“KAIDEN.” I screamed, trying to shake his arm but it wouldn’t move! I was a hot mess and he just laughed at my frustration. Shimmer was livid. She fought me to come out, screaming that I was ready, but I shoved her down.
His head shot up, and he kissed me on the forehead. He set his laptop on the nightstand, and put his arms around me. “You’re ready huh?” he said with a smirk, completely amused that he’d teased me.
I nodded. “I’m sure.” I said looking him in the eyes. He was as serious as he was aroused and I was too. “I know in my heart it’s what I want.”
He kissed me as gently as I think he could, because he felt nearly burning with want to the touch. It sent tingles from my lips to my mark spot, and he rubbed it gently with his thumb. I hummed, never feeling like this before, but it was welcomed.
It set me on fire, but at the same time it felt like I was being wrapped in a warm blanket… I could scent how he felt for me… yet… when he said it, I hugged his neck.
“I love you.” He kissed me, running a hand through my hair, and he pulled me to his chest. It was fast but steady, like a drummer marching through snow.
“I love you too.” I said feeling the rush of the connection between us strengthening before we’d even done anything.
