Book 3: Chapter 102

Lord of Time
“The IV, along with all medical preparations are ready master.” Said Bah with a bow. She was the female metallic gold skinned elf, while her brother bowed next to her.
“I also have the mana potions you requested available for recovery.” Said Boh standing in the grass. This place looks like a forest because it’s managed by the fairies and elves, but also because that grass absorbs the magic the land generates.
“Good…. Are you hungry? Thirsty? Both?” Asked Xaxas, appearing from preparing hell, but he only surprised the servants on his island. “I want you to be comfortable songbird.”
The poor boy was so drained his crown didn’t float between his horns. It was out like a blown candle.
I’d have gone and helped him if I were in my real body… but until that time, I will remain. I looked at Asanguis and his mate.
“My dear please tell me if you are not alright. I feel your pain.” He hissed. Every word with an ‘s’ took additional time to say, which only added to his frustration.
“That’s expected.” Nixia smiled.
“I know… I just…. I just need this to be ok.” He said hissing again, much longer than the first time… That moved my heart. It reminded me of my 5th wife’s second son she gifted me… She was very sickly, and I did not leave her side…
It makes the regret from my actions cut deeper than any wound.
“It will be.” Nixxia said having a contraction. “I’m in the best place I can be.”
She put her hand on his cheek, and he used his magic to share her pain.
“Anything for you my love. Anything.” he said without showing how much pain he was in.
It was actually the worst cramp he’d ever experienced, even including the time he was only a demigod.
I looked back at Harmony.
“No, but I’m ready to have them.” She said honestly.
Xaxas wanted her to give birth in his realm, but they were going to be born in psudo-flesh, so Harmony felt like they would be more attached to Urth, and people, if they were raised on a planet, rather than Below.
Down There, they are prince and princesses, gods who are served and kneeled to.
She felt like if I raised them Below, that they’ll end up making heartless warriors who only Judge and Kill. She is not wrong.
If raised below, that little boy would grow up to be the Lord of Obliteration that restarts an ended war.
“I’m here.” Said the Horned One. He didn’t bother hiding himself, nor did he pretend to be a doctor today. “I brought Lia’s pet bum.” A clawed thumb was pointed.
“Oh fuck you.” Said Arviel rolling his eyes. “I have gifts for you both. After the birthing of course dears.”
He summoned a throne, while the Horned One put a hand on Harmony’s belly. “Your water has not broken. A Cesarean would be best.” He teleported. “Nixxia, you will need one as well. I won’t risk it.”
“I can help.” Said Arviel. “All 6 of their horns are like 12 daggers in their mother’s womb… why didn’t you cover them?!” He hissed. “I mean what you did looks alright, but they’re basically bare.”
“I didn’t think to!” Zuviel hissed back. “I thought one thick layer was enough, and I’m right. There is no damage.”
“To be honest that’s fair. We think too highly of our work to double and triple layers of anything.” Arviel mumbled.
On that he is not wrong… but thankfully arrogance was not met with lamentation.
“I can tell there’s too much red magic in the little ones for me to directly touch them.” Arviel warned. “Not without my sunlight purifying Harmony.”
A lie. Heh. Smart.
“Then I’ll deliver my own whelps.” Said Xaxas.
“…You have no medical training…. Arviel help your grandson.” The Horned One teleported back and forth between the girls.
“Huh….. He *actually* admitted it. Alright. First incinerate the germs off your hands, I’m the sun, so I can glove your claws.” Said Arviel. That surprised me too…. Zuviel is not actually kin with Humblon and Arviel, but there was a time when they were all best friends. There was no trouble the 3 wouldn’t get into.
The number of times I nearly shed this shell! Especially when they were young!
It’s been entire sun lifecycles since they last called each other brother.
A curtain was created to give Harmony and Nixxia a little more privacy.
Asanguis was first, but I would replay his. I know their birth is smooth.
“Father… please… I don’t understand.” Said Asanguis. All his life, he was the Reaper of Men. He’d gone to infinite worlds, killing, eating, reaping, and delivering souls of all kinds. He thought little of it, nor did he really care about mortals that weren’t his immediate family…. But this was different.
His wife was giving birth. The Lord of Death was not experienced with new life… not happy occasions… only the worst. He appears equally for all eventually, but the thought of collecting his children hurt him.
“Your wife has no issue. Truly, she *could* have them naturally but I don’t want their sharp horns hurting her.” Zuviel summoned a scalpel. “I will take your son first. I think it best your daughters have an older brother.”
Also, those who are born first here get additional strength… His son holds his strength, so Zuviel is right. The girls hold his magic, but all three will by scythe wielders. They will be reapers of men and dreams.
“Alright.” Said Asanguis.
While Nixxia got her caesarian, I looked at Harmony, since she was having more trouble.
“I’m sorry.” Xaxas said pressing his forehead to hers. He feared for her, and nearly regretted their decision to have children. All his life he was selfish, but now that he had someone to care about, with all his heart he wanted everything to be alright. “Difficult births are part of my family’s bloodline…”
“I wanted this.” Harmony said confidently. Isabelle already prepped her for the what ifs, and she has magic of her own. If things truly went wrong, both Nixxia and Harmony would be fine.
Arviel put the scalpel in his hand. He looked nervous, and there was fear in his heart.
“I have cut suns in half… but I cannot cut you.” Xaxas said looking at his hands, remembering all the mortals he’d killed.
Billions.
“You’re both doing fine.” Arviel said shaking his head. “I remember delivering …. So many of my own sons.” Arviel chuckled. “How fragile life is hmm?”
“Now is *not* the time for speeches like that.” Xaxas growled, but Arviel took his hand. His hands glowed like the sun as they steadied them. “Why are you helping us?”
“Because if you claim me as your grandfather or not, the Lord of the Lesser Gods is born, and a little less yoke is on my shoulders for it… And for what it’s worth, the war’s over. We have mates…. I cannot allow someone so precious to be in danger like that again…. Harmony, once they are removed, I’ll sew you up.”
I too delivered every one of my children…. It is my fault they are not here….
“Alright.” Harmony said watching them both but didn’t feel anything. The IV and their magic stopped that.
Arviel’s little trick in getting Xaxas to deliver his own children with his mate was a success, but I get why he did that. They won’t have more children, at least none that I could see.
“You’re already done. Now pull out the one you want born first.” Arviel said that guiding his hands to the womb. “May you feel the light of the sun. This will prevent you from hurting.”
“I don’t… thank you.” Harmony happily took their boy first.
“Our son is to be their big brother.” Said Xaxas a little dazed. He held thier daughters, looking at them like he looks at his wife…. “How unreal… We’re parents. Welcome to the world.”
Yes, welcome to the world little ones. I wished I was there, but nobody invited me, and it would be *really* suspicious if I went to a birthing that nobody was supposed to know about…
So there’s that.
Zairiel looked like his father, however his hair was black, and his horns were little sharp knubs.
I leaned over my coffee table, surprised… another Paradox Child.
A child that should not exist as he is, yet there he was… It was like looking at a small version of an old regret. I may have done that to the boy; she was near me a few times while heavy with child.
His mate was made by me. I will take him, but they will not know that yet, nor will I speak of it until the time comes…. He will struggle a little more than the other children… but it will not be forever.
Their little girls were also placed in Harmony’s hands. Her wolf was tired but extremely happy, while Harmony was surprised by how heavy they were. Lummi wanted to shift so she could tend them. However, this time it was not needed. They were born with human forms.
They will gain draconic forms in a few days. Already They look back at me, aware of what I am….
*Rest. You are only born today.* I smiled at that. They already know their purpose and their roles; however they won’t really remember today too well. They’re babies. Unless something disrupts them, they’ll sleep a few hours.
