Chapter 120

Jerold
Not even three hours after our conversation this city was evacuated…. But in the silence, the Master of this world could be heard on the wind itself and you felt underneath your feet…. I could tell his pace was casual and steady, but each step felt as if a drum beat into your chest.
He was a true warrior, undefeatable, and unstoppable. Yet, even knowing this we still all banded together as the hungry, shaggy band that we were. We were in no condition to fight, having no time to recover, but someone like him, someone who does not have the ability to retire would not understand this.
This particular Old One does not need food he does not need water, sleep… He cannot get mentally or physically tired…. He doesn’t even need air. He's simply a monster for destructions’ sake. He was the God of Judgment encased in flesh….
His punishment was being born. He was cast out the pantheon before he could have any temples built… but he did not care about that. He was out for revenge…
Before even my time, that story had been told. He is the reason why the Moon Goddess Lulliba is locked away. It is why she is also called the Night Harlot by the followers of the sun, because in his anger, The Sun God cast her out into an imprisonment…. Her own father did that…. She was never meant to have this son of hers. At least, not by The Horned One…. The King of Hell, the Light’s enemy and opposite.
She'd fallen in love with him, and they hid their child until they got caught. Once the treachery was discovered, half the universe was traded for her And her son’s safety….
Originally, she was betrothed to the God of Mercy… the Sun God’s brother, but The God of Mercy did not want her, not after she’d been married in secret and had a whole life.
But at the same time, her imprisonment was why The Horned Lion was so wrathful. The story goes, was that the keys to his parents prisons we're somewhere here, on Urth…. He did not care how he got those keys, and in reality, I don’t think they were ever here… but it didn’t stop him from trying.
The Horned Lion was a man with long dark chocolate hair. The top of his head held grand ram’s horns, and between them was a flaming, floating crown made of magic and Hell’s fire… His obsidian eyes looked bored…. And I don’t have fear often, but looking him in the eye on accident brought terror.
He came into town and at his left walked the literal Lord of Death, Asanguis…. The Blue Serpent. At his right was an even worse monster… the Beast Prince…
“Why was he so bad?” Asked Kaiden.
There were groans again.
“Alpha!” complained his mate.
“…. Sorry.” He said sheepishly while his little girl ‘ooo’ed’ at him for ‘being bad’.
“He makes men beasts…. You’ll see.” I said clearing my throat.
His name is an actual spell. To say it around a mortal, makes mortal wars. He was a master tactician …. And he loved making the masses kill each other for no reason… Even now, I am unable to speak his name, as it will linger on Noah’s soul… and I’d rather not be flooded with calls when we get home.
“Say, Beast Prince.” Said the Horned Lion. “Why does it smell so pure here?” He said casually.
“I don’t know Master, but since they have fled, the only thing in your way are Flies. Allow me to swat them.” He said with a smug smile.
“Master may I?’ Death asked the Horned Lion. “There are so many souls to reap.”
“Go ahead.” The Horned Lion yawned. “Start with Victor. I want to flay him later.”
In the blink of an eye… he exploded. The King of Vampires didn’t even get a Chance to fight…
“I will not let you take my children!” Screamed Sky, transforming into a unicorn. She had not gained her wings yet, but she would earn them for this battle.
The Beast Prince and the Wolf King clashed while Death came for the Unicorn Sky…
“I want the bull.” He said teleporting.
In a split second, I lost my left horn. With a single flick, my skull was shattered. I saw stars as I fell… The pain was nothing I’d ever experience again… It was more painful than any of the other deaths we earned for challenging him…
I had to stop a second to compose myself… I would not tell them that that flick blew my brains across the battlefield… Being unable to die isn’t all what it’s cracked up to be at times… I took a breath and continued for the young wolves’ sakes
“Damnit.” He complained. “Get up.” He waved his hand to heal me… summoning a sword.
“Lion I have no weapon.” I said transforming.
“Oh? Here.” He said waving his hand and a mighty club appeared. I made sure I kept this… I actually keep it hung in my office.
He came at me with no hesitation, and I barely parried him….
“If you can survive 5 minutes, I will stop Asanguis from killing the entire population of the Unicorns, who think they can escape my judgment.” He motioned the dead Skylia… He’d gutted the unicorn’s belly from stem to stern… though she still lived at second glance. “Brother Death, reap until I signal you to stop. Kill them one at a time.” He smirked…. After all, this was just a game to him.
“Yes Master… They will be a grand gift to father.” The Great Serpent hissed. He became a Giant blue snake, flapping away on grand dragon’s wings…. breathing blue fire out his draconic head.
He forced Sky soul to remain in her body to Watch her people’s deaths… My fate would be the same if I did not indulge him.
He came at me again, moving so fast that I thought it was magic. I blocked him, but not completely…. The tip of his blade got my shoulder, and my wound oozed darkness….
“Mortals are so fucking slow.” He grumbled. He waved his hand and an hourglass appeared…. It floated in his hands… I was not yet done.
“I implore you…. Please stop this.” I said honestly… “Those innocent peoples have done nothing. Unicorns smell of sugar and purity….”
“They were made by the God of Mercy and Purity…. Their fates were sealed before they drew breath.” He countered, making an earthquake by his blade barely touching the ground.
Their homes fell… the earth split, and dark horses with two horns rose from the depths …. By a touch…
“What are those?” I asked as they burst in countless number… flying on bat’s wings…. Their purity was replaced with darkness…
“Oh, something I thought up. The last unicorns we took from Grain Ridge weren’t allowed to die. I took them all and defiled them of their Purity.” He spat the last word as if it were a swear. “Aren’t they Beautiful in their torment?” He grinned. “They suffer because they willingly kneeled to me, and their master turned his back on them.”
I had never encountered so much pain before… They screamed as they flew…
He did not relent his attacks either. We danced for the 5 minutes, while in that long time… Sky watched the souls of her people rise to the sky one by one…. until she’d had enough. She became a beam of light, making the Lion chuckle…
“Stop my brother if you Can.” He said darkly.
She screamed, helping me, but with a smack, she was slammed into a tree. “This fight is one to one horse.” He said casually.
She cried tears of gold blood. “Damn you…” She snorted like a horse.
“While you complain, I see so many souls that need collection. The Bull bores me… I think I’m done here.” He said snapping his fingers. The last thing I saw, was Sky flying to her people. She had no time to save me or Ash.
The blast destroyed the town… I got the joy of knowing what it felt like to be imploded… My flesh was melted to the bone… it took hours to be able to see or hear…
The Beast Prince escaped… So did the others… but that was the first time I actually got to see the might of the Tyrant king… up until that point, we’d spoken, or we arrived at the aftermath… but He is why unicorns are so rare.
He killed so many, that to this day, their numbers never recovered. What’s Worse is that the goblins found out unicorn horn dust is a drug, as well as a cure all that Works…
“What happened after that?” Asked one of Kaiden’s Warriors.
“We ran around fighting his monstrosities… Bug creatures that turned into thousands, there was one who entered dreams… ones who made flames so hot, it could melt stone. There were giant spiders the size of horses that would snatch the innocent and drag them straight to hell…” I mumbled… seeing the small versions of those demons go into ears and eat out brains was best left unsaid.
“…Where is such a creature like this Now?” Asked Kaiden. He was a Crown Prince… He knew OF Xaxas… but not details until now.
I looked at Mini… my small calf. Thankfully she was asleep during this.
“I visit his resting place every other century, alternating with your King.” I said truthfully. “We could not best him… but one by one we felled each general, even Death… but we could not best him…. So we promised him a mate. It’s been at least ten thousand years since that promise… and I don’t rightly know How he’ll wake up….” I mumbled.
I left out the conditions of his awaking. It wasn’t quite right to talk about it now… Nothing could be done to prepare, as the princess we promised was not born yet. I knew who she would be born from… but at the moment, that generation was too young to write cursive….
All the while the brother of this monster was not involved in the War…. But I wondered in his rise to power, would he follow in his brother’s footsteps… Ash had the chance to behead him, but chose to let him go, and where he was now, I had no idea…
“I got the grill ready!” Shouted my mate… when he got Shelly to light wood with her Charred Powers, I didn’t know, but meat sizzled as it was placed.
“See That I can get behind. I’ll be back down after I put my calf to bed.” I chuckled.
She was by far the most well-behaved child I have Ever adopted, and it was a shame no one wanted her when we found her… No one wanted a weredog… Gravehounds were like the black cats of supernatural creatures.
No one trusted them since they were born through undeath. Sometimes they were born from the buried corpses of Good men who wanted to protect a loved one, gravediggers, or black dogs… but since undeath was so rare now, and nothing good came of it, their people were outcasts…
