Chapter 26

Eclipse
He carried me to our room and locked the door. He set me in his lap. I held onto his chest, breathing in his scent. It was full of lust, passion, and a new scent. It made me feel wanted, it made me feel like he meant it when he said he loved me. It wrapped itself around me like a cozy blanket on a chilly night.
I looked him in the eyes; they were full of desire but deathly serious. It intimidated me a little seeing him so convicted in a question. He sat there not continuing our kiss. He was holding my hips, but more to help me stay stable.
The room was silent, you could only hear the chatter from downstairs. I wasn’t prepared for this question. I wanted to spend my life with him; he is my mate. But I was so unsure, because for one, this is permanent. It isn’t something to be taken lightly and he knew that. There were stories of forceful markings, and the bond was strong, but forced mates can be forever damaged by it. He was an Alpha as well, so if I say no, there is a chance that he would do what he wanted anyway.
I figured, I should tell him what he wanted to hear. “What I want to hear isn’t the question babygirl, are you ready?” he repeated tenderly, and gripped my hips a little harder, pushing me closer to him. Again, I was quiet, I looked at the ground, and we sat there what felt like forever.
“I don’t know….” I said, feeling like it echoed throughout the room. I looked at him, and he cupped the side of my face. He kissed me gently and I put my arms around him. He broke from it and put his forehead to mine. “When you are ready, babygirl. I will wait. You are worth waiting for. The last thing I want, is to have you forever afraid of me.”
He hugged me, wrapping his arms around me like I was going to run away. For so long he was alone, and he just really wanted someone to love. I could feel it off him, the desperation to have someone close. And I wanted his attention. I felt conflicted… I felt as if I’d made the wrong choice, but he growled lightly.
“Your choice is yours babygirl. There is no wrong choice when it comes to something like this so long as it’s what you want.” He said kissing me gently, before looking at the door.
There was a knock. “Alpha Wade of the CrimsonMoon Pack is in the territory.” Said Beta Connor.
“The Fuck does he want?!” growled Alpha, he wanted to continue our cuddling, but it would have to wait. I mentally let out a sigh of relief, because honestly, I didn’t want Alpha to feel like I was rejecting him. I know he knew that I wasn’t…
“Come on Babygirl, let’s go down to meet a dipshit.” He grumbled. He set me on the bed gently, and he threw on a black t-shirt and some dark blue jeans. I opted to put on a nice purple dress with black leggings.
We walked down the stairs to be greeted by familiar faces. They had not let them in yet, because I heard a car pull up in the driveway. Out the window, I could see them turn off their cars. There were 2, and out the first stepped out a 35ish hulking man with his dark red hair in a buzzcut. He looked taller than alpha by just a smidge. He was covered in tattoos, and you could see that there was a long scar down his face, going around to the back of his neck. His eyes were almost neon green.
He walked to the door and knocked; I hid behind Alpha Kaiden. He, and his men were honestly intimidating. “They are on our land, my Luna. Don’t ever feel intimidated by any man, especially this meathead.” Said Kaiden. Guards stood behind Alpha in a row, as if to greet him with a subtle warning, hearing their low growls comforted me.
He opened the door and walked up to Alpha in his face and reached out to shake his hand. They grabbed each other’s wrists and he noticed me, peeping behind Alpha. “If I knew you found your Luna, I would have brought Lilly.” He said bluntly. Alpha let out a swift nose snort. He didn’t like him looking at me, but he didn’t say anything wrong…?
We sat at the table, and his face got more serious. “Neighbor,” he said, “You know I would not be here if it wasn’t important.” He stated. “You have my grandson, Beta Matthew, of the RoseMoon Pack as your prisoner.” He growled.
“He challenged me in fair combat and was defeated, by law he is mine.” Alpha growled in response.
“He should be home.” He growled a little louder, causing growls to go throughout the room, then a long silence.
“This IS his home” He snarled lowly.
“…. Alpha Kaiden, you create bad blood.” Warned Alpha Crimson, but my mate’s eyes became red with his wolf.
“He was added to the pack registry, he is mine by law and I will not speak of this any further. The only bad blood is because you will not accept this.” growled Alpha, feeling disrespected that he did not accept his word.
I began to panic, they were going to get in a fight, and I was literally right next to Alpha Kaiden. They began to flash their teeth as warnings to back down. I know they would not, to submit on your own land makes you weak; it would directly undermine his authority. Their pride causes them to never back down a challenge, so as not to look weak. I could feel that Alpha didn’t want war, but neither of them backed down. I had to do something.
“Um” I said shyly with help from Shimmer, honestly, I didn’t know anyone heard me, but Alpha did, and he held my hand. The room got quiet, making me nervous, I didn’t know I had this much power over a room. People bowed, but I always assumed it was out of the fear of Alpha. Everyone looked at me, and it made me more nervous. “Say what’s on your mind, little mate.” Said Alpha, asserting his claim over me almost as if it were instinct.
I took a deep breath, and looked Alpha Wade in the eye. “I was in Alpha Kaiden’s office when he registered him into the pack. He has a job with Delta, and he was so sad and scared. I think…... I think fighting will scare him more… please don’t fight, no one wants to hurt him.” It took everything I had to look at this other Alpha, his cold eyes had softened.
“For the sake of your new mate, I will not spoil your honeymoon. Let me see Matt.” he said coldly again.
“Bring him; you are his blood. You have a right to see he is healthy.” Alpha waved his hand, and Matt came out. He was still timid, and the smell of all the testosterone in the air had him spooked in his room, but he came out with coaxing from a pack member.
His eyes instantly lit up upon seeing his family. “Grandfather.” He almost whispered. He walked to the table and Alpha Wade hugged him, almost immediately letting him go. “Come home with me boy.” he commanded looking sternly. He looked down at the floor, then to Kaiden, who also looked stern.
“Grandfather….” He said quietly. “I was defeated, and I am Alpha Kaiden’s pack member. They treat me well, giving me rank. I…. I like it here.” he mumbled looking at the floor.
He growled deeply and took off his shirt. “You WILL return my grandson to me, Pup!”
Alpha Kaiden stood up, taking off his shirt. “I will NOT give you what is mine!” he snarled.
“I found my mate last night.” He said quietly. The room went silent again. No one could take him from his mate, it was the law, but it left the air hanging that each Alpha had begun to challenge.
Both Alphas growled as they glared at each other, each one’s eyes were the color of their wolf’s…. No one said a word, nor moved in case they were the trigger that would start a fight of these two massive wolves in the living room. They were both similar in size and build…. A fight would be really nasty, and likely to the death should something start.
“The Wolf King will hear of this.” He growled, storming to the door, but he didn’t submit nor leave just yet.
Everyone murmured amongst themselves a moment…. The Wolf King? I thought to myself. I thought that was a scary story they tell pups. He was a massive wolf, twice the size of any known alpha. They said his eyes were red as fire, and that even as a man, they were like a wolf’s not human-like. They said he could win a fight with just the smack of his paw. He was an executioner to the wicked. It was said that with one bite, one would be turned to ash… Surely someone like this didn’t exist. Why would he even bother to bring up someone that wasn’t real to scare my mate?
“Good luck with that.” Kaiden smirked, “We have broken no laws neighbor. Let your grandson heal. His soul is broken, he will never be a warrior again. He will be WEAK in your pack, and he may grow to resent not living up to your standards.” He said, stern, yet calm. Everyone else in the room, was deathly silent.
“I will be back with the council.” He yelled and stomped out, slamming the door,
