Chapter 34

Kaiden
“My Alpha…. we serve you.” Warrior Commander Raury stated. He bowed in human form, unable to look at me, nor what I had done. This was overkill, and there was no need to eviscerate Wade, but he conjured that fate for himself when he hurt Eclipse. I nodded the smallest nod, and let out a chuff through my nose to acknowledge him.
I was escorted to the packhouse after I got patched up. They passed me some blue jeans when I shifted to my human form. His mate was terrified, seeing me covered in her mate’s blood. She cried tears at my feet, that I had not done such a thing. But I had. I felt no remorse for what I had done.
“My father was your neighbor for 700 years. I remember coming to this house, to play with your Beta, who would likely be Gamma if not for his own doing.” I spat. “For 203 years, he did not challenge me, he respected my father. He respected my grandfather. He respected the blood of the Wolf King, but he today disrespected my Luna. He Touched my mate, he attacked her, and hurt her. A small defenseless she wolf. He came into my territory and tried to kidnap her. And for that, this disrespect could not be left unchallenged.” I paused and scanned the room. Not a head was lifted, her eyes were wide, she couldn’t believe that her husband had done such a thing.
“I am Alpha Kaiden, the Charred One, and you are now all my pack.”
I still felt the rush of victory, and of tasting the blood of the man that hurt my babygirl. None challenged me, they all accepted my reign. I went into my new office, and took his name off the door. His mate had followed me, tears still in her eyes. “What would you have me do, Alpha Kaiden?” She said with her head down, completely terrified. I just wanted revenge. She was no longer the Luna, and she was wondering if she was banished, or if I would kill her.
I sat in my chair, and changed the log in. I also emailed the council registry for the pack, they and the territory would all take my name. I pointed for her to sit in the chair directly in front of me. I didn’t say anything, because I was debating on a third option. I could see the pleading in her eyes.
Lilly was a timid white haired, blue eyed Alpha female. I remembered even as a small pup, that she would never really talk much, but she always gently smiled. If her mate would have submitted, I wouldn’t have lost control of my wolf. He decided to make it a fight to the death. He pushed me over the edge with his actions. I might have.... I lied to myself.
They were like family. I remember all the errands I would get in trouble for, instead of waiting for an Omega, just to play with Beta Darrick. We did everything together, even defended each other’s territories. There were no secrets between us, and I even came to the birth of his twin girls, Abby and Ana, who were now in their 30’s. But none of that mattered anymore. Monsters grow up, and they grow fangs.
“I will allow you to live, for Beta’s sake, he was my dear childhood friend. It would make it difficult to work with a man who killed his mother for no reason.” I stated.
“Thank you” She stuttered, staring at the floor.
Out of concern, and the silence, the high-ranking familiar faces of former friends came into the office with a bow and I nodded. They were still tense, and they walked very slowly, as if to allow me to have the option to kick them out. I was calm now, sitting in the stillness of my office.
“As the new Alpha, I have a problem. I killed Wade because he challenged me, and I would not have come if he had not disrespected.” I paused, eyeing them to look for those that disagreed.
“I cannot run 2 packs, however none of you are strong enough to hold the title to even my Gamma.”
Again, no one disagreed, or at least they tried not to show it. “I will expect emails every day. I will be here at least 2 to 4 times a week. I don’t live far, so any challenges, directly disrespect me. The territory will be combined, and there will be retribution to those who would disrespect the pack. You are mine. Every one of you. I will not tolerate disrespect, nor will I tolerate disrespect of my Luna. I have shown mercy in not killing all of you in this room, but do not think of it as weakness.” I growled. Rakaam was too busy being dominant over the other’s wolves to pay attention to anything I’d said, and it made it easier to control myself.
The room was silent again. I looked at all the shit he left and cracked my knuckles. “Have Delta send an Omega Delivery van for the paperwork in the future.” Lady Moon it was so unorganized.
In the clutter I found the password to the MoonPack System’s main interface, and contacted the council. They had gone home, and no meetings were scheduled unless it was another emergency, or the end of the year. For that I was thankful, since I had no interest in doing anything other than being with my mate. I also sent in a request off.
I really didn’t want to say Why, but I’d never been denied. Most Alphas would understand though, and assume it was because I’d just taken over a new pack. They’d assume that I needed the time to get my new packhouse in order, but I would not have to do that. I would keep those already here who knew how to run this pack, but in return they better fall in line. As I’d told them I wouldn’t allow pack disruption. But as it stood, I’d made peace.
They are my pack now, and only one wolf’s blood was spilt.
------Eclipse------
Thunder clapped and lightning flashed so bright it hurt my eyes. I was in the forest, watching Kaiden fight Alpha Wade. It was raining, and it was cold, like I was in the middle of a winter storm. I saw Alpha rip his chest out, then start running to me, eyes red. I bolted awake; two men rushed to me on high alert.
“I’m ok…” I mumble. I tried to get out of bed, and almost fell on the floor. I got caught before I face planted, and I was set on the bed. I had almost forgot about my leg. It was broken in 2 places, and held no flexibility.
“My Luna, I will send for a female warrior to attend to you,” said the gruff Warrior that caught me. I thanked him but that dream bothered me. I wondered where Alpha was, he was safe I hoped. I wished he didn’t leave to go fight like in my dream, but knowing him, he probably did.
The warrior helped me change into a long rainbow shirt and some blue shorts. As much as I wanted to tell her I didn’t need help, I needed it. I had bruises all over my shoulder from falling out that truck, and it was hard to move it.
The female warrior carried me into the living room and set me on the couch. Everyone kept asking was I okay, giving me pillows, and offering me food. Everyone wanted to sign my cast. They were also caring, and I was happy with the attention. But something just didn’t feel right. It was 7pm and Alpha wasn’t home yet. I thought he had stayed the night with me, but I would have found him by now if he was home. I asked for Gamma Branson to come for a second.
“Where is Alpha?” I asked. The room got quiet, and she looked into the distance.
“He went to go challenge Alpha Wade.” She growled.
There was the sound of engines, and everyone stood alert. The Warriors surrounded me. I was unable to get up, so if Alpha Wade won, I guess he would just kill me. He already broke my leg without a second thought. Multiple cars showed up, causing me to feel nervous. But it melted away when I saw who got out of a pink Beetle.
It was Alpha.
He was barefoot in just jeans, he looked at me and ran to me with red eyes. he hugged me and smelled my scent in deeply. I was overwhelmed by the scent he had. He felt like what only I could explain to be death itself, and I wanted no part of it. But he was my mate, and his touch was all I had craved. I missed him. I didn’t know how much until he kissed me…. I hugged his chest, shedding tears.
