Book 3: Chapter 2

Tiffany
It was strange to be in the arms of a ‘stranger’ who wasn’t… but I wasn’t complaining either…. His touch had me hotter than the lit fireplace. Someone did that for us on the way out, while others were nice enough to not flood the packhouse living room to be nosy. To be honest, they were probably with their own mates, while I had mine…
He held me like that before he let out a small sigh of contentment… “I would very much like to attempt the ritual my lovely.” He whispered in my ear.
“Ok.” I mumbled, not really wanting to move.
The Courting Ritual would show if we were compatible, but I knew that part would be fine…. It is the Binding that worried me….
He used a finger under my chin to look me in the eyes. “You sound nervous.” He said with concern…. He kissed me on the lips…
It was warm and soft. He was gentle, yet I knew he had to hold himself back as the wolves do…Why was he so strong to be a Witch? It was almost as if he were molded from the earth of Tarteron, rather than flesh like me…
I would have to meet Alteer… and Gulteer… I never met them. I don’t think I wanted to. Mom let me read up on Dark Witch history and magic when I was little…. I learned multiple languages, including Original Witch, High Demon, the one spoken by the First… and even a few mortal languages. Hellinia’s home country was in Russia, while Black Daimond was in Romania…
I learned those languages too… along with Spanish and Chinese. Those were …. Surprisingly easy, as if I knew those languages before. I worried though, because despite all the accomplishments I have, they won’t be impressive to someone like Gulteer…
I wondered what the High Patriarch of their bloodline would think of me?
Probably not much. I am a woman… He’s as old as the War…
The First Witch was so talented, that he resided with the master’s son Xaxas, the All King, with his coven on a magical, private island….. It is not known where it was originally, or if they were there the entire time… But I know they’d be here soon, either by magic or technology…
“I worry because I haven’t done this before… not that I remember.” I mumbled, leaving out my deepest fear… the Horned One…. It dawned on me that I would have to see him….
“Then let me be your sword.” He said, sparking a memory…. He was not fit as he is now… Zayde did not look as he does now either… but I remembered only a moment of a great battle… It was Just a second… there was no sound to that vision either, but he was a Mighty warrior with a sword. It was as if it was an extension of his left hand….
“I will be your shield.” I said the second part, but this shouldn’t be finished here. “Hold on.” I said stopping him from finishing the incantation. The redness of his powers was rich and vibrant… And I knew it would probably catch the couch on fire.
He was Hot, but I don’t think he wanted to be *That* hot.
“Where do you intend to finish it?” He asked face palming. “Sorry….” He said sheepishly.
“This is an outside spell, but this land is also marked by the master…. It would be unwise to leave my family with such a burden Zayde.” I admitted.
He took both my hands as we stood. He had to lean down to do so, but he kneeled to my eye level… He had to be about …6’6… “Then allow me to take you to BlackMoon.” Zade was so excited, but I would be a foreign witch there… Well until marriage…
“Right now?” I asked. Wolf tradition was similar…. To leave with the stronger of the two was common…. I know Becky was staying with Harry… Her rank went from Delta to Beta… mine would go from Alpha’s daughter… to I didn’t know? It would be higher in the witch world… that was for sure…
But I didn’t care about that. I wanted to know if-
“Right now.” Zayde said with a grin. He had a portal stone that would take him home… It appeared from around his neck and pulsed black and red…. “For us to glow through only the first verse of four, we know we’re compatible…. But I assume you would want to say goodbye to your family.” Zayde said this looking at me with the sharpness of a dragon’s gaze… I had to look away to collect myself…
Damn him… Someone has a sense of humor. If that vision was right… his last body was a spaghetti noodle compared to the Amber-Flambe and Finch model I was in front of…..
“I do.” I admitted. They were too good of a family to just vanish, off to Romania without any warning or send off…. He pulled me to his chest, I could hear his heart beat…
“Once I have you, I’m greedy…” he rumbled. “Once I take you home, I will not let you go.”
His words were almost like an oath…. It made me feel on fire… His touch gave me goosebumps….
Zayde said it as if he’d take me right here in my father’s house, but that would be a bit much… He clawed my butt with his squeeze of it, just enough to make me gasp. His hair became the slightest bit undone, hooding his left eye. His fanged grin showed he was up to no good.
He leaned in my ear, and whispered. “If you wish to be marked as the wolves do, I’ll *happily* oblige that too my dear.” He gave a gentle snarl at the end of that…. He must have learned a bit of beast magic….
“Ahem.” Said my grandpa Kaiden. He held a red velvet cake, my favorite, and grandma had a candle lighter.
“I thought we weren’t going to have a party?” I huffed playfully…
“Good thing we changed our minds, huh?” Said dad with crossed arms. He wasn’t mad, but the sharp look he gave Zayde could cut glass.
“Apologies.” Said Zayde sheepishly.
“Nah, the moon’s full. Most don’t know, but Harvest Moons affect everyone, not just us.” He smiled. “There’s cake, rides outside, and the mate bond to celebrate.”
Dad came and shook Zayde’s wrist, but I could tell by his grip that he was testing him.
“Nice to meet you Alpha Johnathan.” He grinned as they had their pissing contest. Zayde didn’t back down, and both were beginning to use their powers to prove a point. “I’ll take good care of Tiffany.”
“I know you will.” Dad said sternly with a smile. Small cracks of dust appeared on Zayde’s hand, while dad’s hand started to smoke…
“That’s enough.” Said mom shaking her head, putting an end to it… I was curious to see who’d win, but for peace’s sake it was probably for the best…. I realized how that was a little sadistic…
But it also gave me pride that he was capable enough not to buckle… I’ve seen dad bend metal without his powers, and with it, he could turn that same iron to literal dirt…
“Welcome!” Said Grandpa Ron. He smiled wide, putting his hands on both their shoulders. He took the wind out their sails. “Happy Mating Ceremony pups!”
“Oh stop it.” Said Grandma Aemi playfully… She had the cake cutter and a bottle of wine.
The cake was put on the table, and mom hugged me so hard I thought I was going to pop. “I packed your bags myself. If you want to leave tonight, don’t forget you can always come home with this.”
She handed me her portal stone…. I know she only had the one.
“Mom I can’t take this!” I said trying to give it back, but she smiled wide.
“Then borrow it.” She closed my hands over it. She snapped her fingers, and gave me her special tome…. “This too.”
I hugged her, crying in her arms like a little baby, and she pat my shoulders.
“This one is a copy of the original; it’s Lady Theophania’s spell book. Do you remember when you used to sneak into my storage space to see all the little secrets I kept?” I nodded. “A copy of all those are in this bag…. It was Theophania’s original holding satchel, but no one knows the password.” She smiled.
She looked at me like that was supposed to ring a bell, but at first, it didn’t.
The black bag was dyed man skin, overtop blood bull leather for sturdiness, but there wasn’t a mar on it… I didn’t know how I knew that…. I didn’t know how I knew it was a 20 by 20 meter room in a bag about the size of a IPearBook Pro laptop bag… It didn’t look like one though, it was just the best size I could think of in mortal standards… It looked like an old-timey round bag, with laces to close it, and a single strap to sling over your shoulder.
“It’s password is Rraa Aehr-kik-tenghi.” I said…I rolled every ‘r’, and the emphasis on the ‘k’ sounds were like Arabic… but it wasn’t. It was First Demon…
I didn’t understand what it meant though… It made no sense. ‘The Serpent’s Eye’ Was the translation….
Was I this Theophania…?
That wasn’t who I was Now.
I was Tiffany. I was Me….
I didn’t want to know more about her and what she did… I wouldn’t be who I was now if she didn’t commit the great sin… the only thing I remembered…. Doing what mother did now, but with outsiders…
“I’ll protect this with my life mom.” I said putting the book in the bag. That was one hell of a gift…. I could hear the plop of it landing on a carpet… So there was a full sized study in there…
Theophania… I think that’s the name origin for ‘Tiffany’… So mom knew… by that extension the rest did as well… but I only knew her as mom…. Inside this bag likely were secrets even she didn’t know.
