Book 3 # Chapter 92
A/N: Sorry I was gone. I’m back, and in action. I kinda went through a really…. Rough time but I’m better. This is what I wrote. I have SO much more, but I’m only going to do a few chapters at a time.
Tiffany
With the witches in formation, I stood in front. My mate was at my left, and my family was off to the side, choosing to stay. To be honest, I was glad that they, and Alteer showed up. I know that meant a lot to Zayde, but he’d probably never show it.
With everyone watching, I summoned the Staff of Yellow Diamond in my right hand. I gave it a good twirl, leaving a trail of red light behind it.
“As the matron of Yellow Diamond, I relieve you barrier watchers from your service.” I said waving my hands, and they felt heavy. All I was doing was my normal ritual, the one I’d always done from the ground, yet green lightning shot out of my left hand’s fingertips. I kneeled on one knee recharging the barrier while I gave a roar that made the coven lightly clap.
“That’s my girl.” Said mom, “I’m so glad Alteer brought John and dad!”
“Thank you.” Said dad.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Said Grandpa Kaiden.
“We’re so proud.” Said Alteer with a grin, as if he were up to no good. “You got this Zaydie-poo!” he beamed.
“Oh my gods.” Facepalmed Zayde.
“Get ‘um Tiffy-Taffy!” Shouted dad.
….Those two fist bumped.
“Gotta keep you humble.” Snickered Alteer.
I tried ignoring the giggles as the symbol of the Horned One appeared in the sky. Hibernation or not, I didn’t get rusty.
“With the renewal, we may leave!” I shouted.
“I will stay.” Said Echidna, looking … pretty tribal. She was half snake, but her top half was in thin clothing fit for combat, and that spear looked to be tipped with her own tooth.
“I as well.” Said Typhen.
“Good.” Said Zayde like a commander. With growls, and a jump in the air, it was my mate who left the barrier first.
On brooms, shifted, or riding the backs of their familiars, we left as a large unit together. There was a comradery here that I know doesn’t happen in other covens. Here we are a unit, a team… Here, everyone values their coven member, because we know that the outside world still hunts us.
\[Do you smell that?\] Asked Zayde.
I tried to concentrate, closing my eyes.
The scent of magic misuse was in the air, but not enough for a baba, or another science lab.
\[It smells like a magic’s leaking in the land.\] I said veering off from formation.
I could see a small red glow. I assumed since we were in such a vulnerable state hibernating, that no one wanted to go outside and check the magic seepage unprotected.
And with the church knowing our location and isolation, I doubt anyone wanted to draw attention. If we’re still being watched, they might wonder why the *leaders* aren’t coming out to address the fissure.
I flew in a wide circle around it, looking intensely. They crack in 3’s, but it was no doubt that this cave, and crackling magic inside it was the largest.
\[I got this one.\] I yelled. \[There should be 2 more.\]
\[I’ll go west my dear, and look for more.\] Said Zayde.
\[I’ll go east.\] Said Micael.
This isn’t something Uncle Bryson would know to look for, since he doesn’t really know a lot about magic, and I’m sure if mom visited, she didn’t come out here.
That cave looked nearly bottomless…. No doubt Zayde is going to carve it out because of his bahimoth instincts.
Fixing the great cavern’s magic problem was no effort, but it will stay there. It’s too big to place dirt overtop with magic, so to keep all this contained, I expanded the barrier as much as I could. I’ll keep doing that every day until I have our overflow contained right. It should and will be flowing into the ritual room once we’re done.

As I left, I heard Heidi’s concern …. And I would investigate on her behalf.
I teleported Below to the throne room. I knew Tiffany could handle the 3 large cracks a little ways off from the barrier all by herself, but I was happy they made it a pack event. Pack events, even simple ones like maintenance or running around strengthens bonds, and allows them to be more approachable to their people. It’s something even I do back home, so my wolves don’t think I’m some ‘big mighty god’ who smells his own farts that you can’t bother.
Teaching the boy how to support his Alpha was also something that was needed. He took to it like a fish to water, and Casey, despite how young they are, manage the farms about as well as Kaiden runs Horizon. With a glance, using magic, they were already done and celebrating with Tiffany’s family. I’ll not return though. I need to make sure Heidi’s hunch is investigated.
I saw that magic leak months ago, but it was so small, that I was asked by father to leave it for them. It was their time to shine, and honestly, I was pretty proud of my niece. Heidi raised a good kid, despite being a Dark Witch. The Horned One will never change his ways, but at least with mother around, only the deserving get the worst of it.
I wondered why I almost felt blocked as I walked down the hall. Demons bowed in armor, while father sat with mother.
The timeline didn’t show Tiffany with any pups, and they hibernated during that ridiculous sex ritual Xaxas did, but …. I feel like something in this is missing.
Like why can’t I pinpoint the *real* length of time they were asleep? So much happened, and I suspect even longer than a year was passed. My grandpups are damn near about to get their human forms early, due to his deal of waiting until they’re ‘five’ but he sped up their development to be the *equivalent* to five….
But I knew father was going to do that with Willow’s parents being human… It was Tiffany I worried for. Why can’t anyone see beyond 2 decades?
I kneeled, then stood before them. In here, we are blood, but I was warned that down here, you should behave your rank. I am 4 essentially father’s Gamma.
“And a good one. Mortals get their come-uppins.” He grinned, judging a soul.
“Welcome son.” Beamed mother. She always takes the chance to hug my neck.
“I’m here about Tiffany.” I smiled hugging her back. I always take the chance to return that love. She never got to hold me as a child, nor love me until she was freed.
“We won’t tell you.” Said mother.
“Is there a reason?” I asked.
“We can’t decide when to bless her with whelps.” Said mother. “He needs to go to the Last Layer.” Huffed mother. “His evil is so stinky.”
“Layer 9 just isn’t *enough*, but the Pit is too harsh my love.” Said the Horned One. “I know! Send him to my experiment room.”
I nearly cringed…. I almost was curious enough to ask…. But it’s probably best not to, both for that soul’s actions, and what father’s going to do to him.
“Young master.” Bowed Apythmenos, while the other demons that lined the grand throne room also bowed.
“What brings you here?” asked father patiently.
“I watched Tiffany and Zayde as you asked… but I do not know why my instincts drove me down here.” They were bounced between Time and Yellow Diamond because of Xaxas’s time rift. Of all the people involved, they got bounced the farthest.
He grinned.
“Haru traded aid for a mate they would provide.” Said mother.
My eyes grew wide.
“Do they know?” I asked.
“No.” Said father. “But there is no rush. Haru still puts his affairs in order. He also has felled multiple worlds as an offering. It may be another few decades, or even a century before I’m done preparing Urth for such a large new resident.”
He isn’t as strong as say the First Demon or something, but he is as tall as a skyscraper…. With a wave of father’s hand, a hologram of Haru’s life played. He earned this right… despite being a bahimoth, he is one with honor.
“I’ll tell them when the time comes.” I said stoically.
“That’s my job master.” Bowed Apythmenos. “I also personally vouch for Haru. He is patient, dedicated, and honest.”
“Then go right ahead. If you trust him, I do as well.” I said with a nod so he could stand.
“We will make souls together again Zuzu.” Said mother, leaning on father’s shoulder.
He hummed. “I am elated, my sweet butterfly.”
