Book 3: Chapter 55

Tiffany
The room shook, but it looked like the ceiling was growing taller… This room was becoming a hollow skyscraper, and I’d never been *inside* a space while it was edited!
“Everyone remain Calm and Seated.” Commanded Tyson. “Grandfather said the arena needs to be bigger.”
I didn’t hear anything, but Tyson is more in tune with Tarteron even more than us. I knew he was right.
“What does Zayde think he’s doing?” I asked, seeing him shift in the middle of the arena. He yawned to stretch his jaws, and cleared his throat. His wings were stretched as well, and it sounded like leather. I’d say he was several stories taller…. And his growl was a rumble you could feel.
“I don’t know, but I am surprised.” Said Haru. “Zayde’s only as big as a 300 year old though.” He said this thinking out loud. He scratched his chin, and we watched him continue to grow.
At first, Zayde was maybe 150feet tall… I’d say now he was probably 350 or 60, and to accommodate it, the room became 1000 high, and probably twice as wide….. The Horned One did this.
The Horned One made Zayde the size of an elder dragon, one likely on their King’s Council….
He altered the ritual room to have the same layout, but now there were more bleachers, and it was arranged more like the Wolf King’s colosseum, though still square.
He probably made it so big to just be done with it, because all three of them were healed, thus, all three bahimoth users were bigger, with Alteer likely being the reason why this place was multiple stories taller too….
As his father, Alteer will be given a larger size…. Maybe? Alteer is older, in a body that will be able to take a larger stature, and bahimoth must have those higher and lower…. Micael will be the smallest still, if not unchanged. He’s so young, and already has trouble with the gifts he has.
Also, Both Covens are in GREAT danger… so it only make sense he changed his mind…
We are all there is. There are no other Dark Witches outside the covens, save a few here or there….. so if one falls, an entire school of magic may die with them.
I wonder… I wondered is this reactionary or preparation?
“Oh gods damn it.” Zayde grumbled, and the richness of his voice reverberated along the walls... He lifted a massive hand to examine it. It seemed like it took a little effort to speak a normal language…. “Just bring out the mayor.”
“Feeding gave him some life. If he can shift, he can fight.” Said Haru. “I’m so satisfied. You lot surprise me.”
“I’ll go see if I can be of aid.” I said getting up, and no one stopped me.
My mate… He was *big*. I was eye level with a claw… Zayde didn’t even notice me, until I touched a scale on such a large right hand. All his anger was on the mayor. “Bring in Mr. Dalca; let him explain to the Wolf King why he thought it was a good idea to house hunters.”
The dapper man was brought out willingly, escorted by Zeh’Kahrraam. The demon wore a suit that looked more expensive than my wedding ring…
Mr. Dalca came willingly, though I could tell by his hesitation on seeing my husband, that he second guessed his original belligerent look. His ashen hair was a little grayer than I’d seen for a young man his age.
He was no older than 40, but you’d never know that if you saw him from behind. He was slumped over and walked with a cane, wearing a small badge on his black British styled jacket with leather patches on the elbows.
It looked like he’d spent a lot of money on his appearance, despite being the mayor of such a small town.
“Bow your head mortal.” Growled Zeh’Kahrraam, forcefully grabbing his head, and making him grovel on hands and knees. “Before you, in this room, is the master’s very blood. Should you disrespect such *quality* Calamity or my child’s master, I will behead you.”
Haru agreed, still sitting in the front row. “I could bring the flesh to Tarteron for you, old friend…. I doubt the master would be too happy on seeing you.”
Zeh’Kahraam snorted. I tried remembering anything from Theophania’s life, but I got nothing. I know if I asked, no one would likely tell me *what* the First Demon did to displease the master… but honestly their casual threat would have freaked out Aptherraam if he was here. He too was reborn, but unlike me, my familiar never forgot.
Mr. Dalca bowed his head, and explained himself. “I didn’t know my people were running around like rabid dogs.” He offended all the wolves, but there were only glares.
“You have my word, that the House of Dalca, the rulers of these lands since the 14th century, will control the peasants. Even if we have to enforce it as the old times.”
“Blood for blood has already flowed in this room for their actions.” Said Tyson kingly, standing. He teleported right in front of him…
I didn’t know he could do that! The crowd gasped, and I looked on silently.
“AH!” Mr. Dalca screamed from the soundless magic.
Tyson was massive…. Seeing him next to a normal person really hammers in his lordship.
“The word of man is as reliable as shifting sand. You’ll only honor it until you *think* you can do better.” Tyson crossed his arms.
“Aye, but when has my house broken their word.” Mr. Dalca took his pinky ring off, and held it in the air. “My family was given this by the leader of the Vampires…. Long before your people built this castle, this entire country was run by the bloodsuckers. My family is the only surviving clan from that time. This ring rules the village…. Whoever wears it, is the real leader, no matter the title of the wearer.”
He put it back on. I thought by his wording that he was going to give it away.
Alteer appeared *directly* behind him, even leaning into his ear, to say “Aye.”....
I knew he’d only done it to show off, but also to show to his coven that he was fine now…. Indeed, Alteer was about 2 inches shorter than Gulteer. So I knew he was given this upgrade as well…
Something about that is *not* right… Neither he nor Zayde accepted the deal with the Horned One earlier, yet he’s blessed them like *this* anyway…
Suspicious…
Alteer materialized from a puff of smoke, and Mr. Dalca *screamed* like any normal person. It got a small chuckle from the audience…. “You realize the next attack will bring the Vampire King. He will raze your city in a gluttonous storm that even *I* will deem overindulgent.”
“I will not stop him either.” Said Tyson. “You stake your city on your word. As King of Shifters, I am here to witness such an oath mortal. Know that should you break your word, *You* will suffer the most.”
“That’s how my house came to power in the first place.” Said Mr. Dalca clearing his throat.
“Then I see no issue. Don’t move your castle. Let them find out what happens when a Vampire with an unquenchable thirst has permission to drain a city.” Said Tyson casually, still sitting as if he were on his throne. “Next I wish to know about the Emerald witches. Bring Agatha.”
“They say the *way* a story is told is how you hold it in your heart.” Said Mom. “I hope for your sake that you’re telling the truth, and you pass that truth to your children.”
Mr. Dalca bowed. “My family has passed down the old stories…. Our little ones know, and my youngest son already knows he will inherit this ring… He will be mayor one day, not today, but one day my little boy will be a *man*. One with honor.”
“I will take you home mortal. You have my word… I will not hurt you, nor your *disobedient* kin.” Zeh’Kahrraam was his escort. He was tossed keys.
“Use my car.” Said Andrei from the crowd. He sat in the second row.
The human was dismissed. Mr. Dalca was allowed to leave with his life on the condition no humans attack this place again, or the whole town, every single human, will be forfeit… Victor was also notified, and texted back that he was excited for next century….
