Chapter 102 Proposal

"Diana, check out my sleeve. What's this?" Edward held out his arm, showing a thin thread hanging from his cuff. I was shocked—Edward's clothes were always top-notch, custom-made by the best designers. How could there be a loose thread?

Edward pouted. "Take it off for me." I reached out and gently tugged on the thread. To my astonishment, it continued to unravel, revealing a beautiful necklace inch by inch.

I kept pulling until the whole necklace was out. Edward laughed, and I just stood there, stunned.

Edward took the necklace from me, his eyes soft and full of affection. He stood up, looking like a gentleman straight out of a painting. He walked behind me, and I felt his breath on my neck, warm and a little ticklish. His movements were gentle, like a breeze on petals. As he unfolded the necklace, his fingers brushed my skin, sending a shiver through me. He carefully fastened the clasp, the click echoing in the quiet room.

After putting on the necklace, Edward adjusted my collar. His hands rested on my shoulders, their warmth seeping through my clothes. He leaned down and whispered in my ear, "This necklace looks perfect on you." His voice was low and magnetic, making my ears tingle.

I touched the necklace, sighing softly. Edward, with his hand still on my shoulder, leaned in and asked, "Don't you like it?"

I shook my head, my tone holding a playful hint of reproach. "I haven't even seen it properly, and you already put it on me."

Edward straightened up, laughing. "Doesn't matter if you haven't seen it yet; you'll have plenty of chances."

I nodded. "It's a shame my dress is so plain today, hiding the beauty of this necklace."

Edward patted my shoulder. "If you don't like the dress, we can buy new ones. Or we can get a designer to make something special for you. I saw a new dress that would look amazing on you. After dinner, let's have the designer bring it over for you to try."

I shook my head. "No, it's too late. Let's not disturb them."

Edward looked surprised but nodded. "Okay, whatever you say."

Tonight, Edward's gentleness was almost too much to handle. Was this really the same domineering guy I knew? The lonely man with Asperger's who struggled with socializing? Despite my confusion, I felt happy.

Over the past four years, Edward had been good to me, but it was mostly about material stuff and his undeniable sexual prowess. But right now, I felt a different kind of satisfaction, something more spiritual.

Even though I liked it, it felt strange. I didn't dare to hope that Edward would always treat me like this until we parted ways. If he could even do half of what he did today, I'd be happy.

Edward pulled a small box from his pocket, his eyes full of mystery and anticipation, and slowly opened it in front of me. A dazzling light burst from the box, revealing a diamond ring.

Edward got down on one knee and said, "Diana, I'm proposing to you again. Stay with me forever. Let's never be apart." I was stunned, not sure if I should take the ring or not.

Edward, sweating bullets, grabbed my hand and awkwardly slipped the ring onto my finger. Then he smiled and said, "Wearing my ring means you agree."

He looked like a kid who just got his favorite toy, both proud and curious.

I looked at the ring and sighed softly. "Edward, do you know how many years I've loved you?"

Edward looked confused. "Four years?"

I shook my head. "No, it's been thirteen years. From the first day I saw you, you planted yourself in my heart."

Edward squinted, deep in thought. "So, meeting you at the gym back then wasn't just a coincidence?" he asked, surprised.

The gym—I remembered those days, feeling my cheeks redden. After seeing Edward for the first time, I found out he went to the gym every afternoon after school. So, I got a membership at the same gym and went there every afternoon, just to catch a glimpse of him.

"Let me tell you something," Edward suddenly sat down next to me, laughing. "Back then, David and I made a bet. He said you went to the gym just to see me. I argued that you went because you were too short and needed to run. You weren't even taller than the treadmill at the time."

The more he talked, the more animated he became, while my face kept flushing.

"I was a late bloomer. I was skinny in middle school, but I wasn't that short," I protested.

"Okay, you were tall, taller than the treadmill." Seeing my displeased expression, Edward couldn't help but agree.

"So, can you agree to my proposal now?" he asked, sounding like an impatient child.

I looked at the ring and nodded. Edward's face lit up with excitement, his eyes brimming with joy. Suddenly, like an exuberant child, Edward picked me up, his strength reflecting his excitement and passion. He spun me around, making me feel like I was flying. Everything around me became a blur, with only his joyful laughter ringing in my ears.

After spinning, Edward gently put me down but couldn't wait to hold my head and kiss me deeply. His lips were gentle yet fiery, like burning flames that ignited the love in my heart. I could feel his heartbeat pounding like a drumbeat that matched the rapid pace of his breath. In this intimate moment, time seemed to stand still, and the entire world consisted only of the two of us.
