Chapter 364 Cooperation Plan

Nicholas's eyes lit up as he started talking. "Jeffrey, I gotta hand it to you, your idea is spot on. The business world is always changing, and the only way to stay ahead is by teaming up. If we go with your plan, we can really make the most of all our resources."

David jumped in, "Mr. Jackson, everyone, I have a tough request. The Griffin family is furious with the Wilsons because of what happened with Lanny. They're out for blood and even rallying others to bankrupt the Wilsons. If they go down, a lot of innocent people will suffer. So, I'm begging you, Mr. Jackson, to step in and mediate. You're highly respected in Wind City, and only you can convince the Griffins to back off. The Wilsons are willing to do whatever it takes to fix this."

Nicholas paused for a moment before saying, "If that's the case, bringing another ally into our plan would definitely make it stronger. The Griffins have been focused on overseas business for years, and I know they're looking to expand. If we can get them involved in this project and make sure they benefit, I think they'll ease up on the Wilsons."

David's heart sank. He knew that the more people involved, the messier it would get. But he had no choice; the Wilson family's future was on the line.

Hiding his worry, he forced a smile. "Mr. Jackson, you're right. If we can team up with the Griffins, it could solve the Wilsons' crisis."

I nodded. "The Griffins have always wanted to break into commercial real estate, and the Wilsons' land is perfect for their plans. With the right communication, they should be willing to join in."

Jeffrey listened, deep in thought. After a moment, he looked at David and said, "Alright, let's bring the Griffins into the project and give them a stake. This way, we can ease the tension between the Griffins and Wilsons and get everyone working together."

With a confident smile, Jeffrey added, "Since Nicholas and Mr. Wilson are on board, our chances of success just went up. I have some pull with the Griffins. If you all agree, I can help mediate."

Nicholas's tense expression softened as he asked, "Jeffrey, if you can help get the Griffins on board, our chances of success will definitely go up. How much of a stake are you looking for in this project?"

Jeffrey chuckled and said, "I'm just here as an observer. Our family doesn't need this piece of land."

Nicholas was relieved to hear that Jeffrey wasn't interested in the commercial land. He then turned to me and asked, "Diana, what do you think?"I had been quietly sitting in the corner, surprised when Nicholas addressed me. I quickly gathered my thoughts and replied with a smile, "Our company is already swamped with work, so we won't be joining your collaboration."

Nicholas's satisfaction grew as another person opted out of the profit-sharing.

However, Lucas's face remained sullen, his lips tightly pressed together in displeasure. Jeffrey approached Lucas and explained, "Lucas, I get that you're angry, but in the long run, this plan is best for Lila and for everyone here."

Lucas turned away with a cold snort. "Easy for you to say. What about the suffering my wife endured?"

Seeing the atmosphere tense again, I set down my gently swaying wine glass and walked over to Lucas. "Lucas, I understand your feelings. Lila's pain can't be easily erased, and the Wilson family is definitely at fault. But completely destroying them might not be the best outcome for Lila. Jeffrey's proposal offers the Jackson family ample compensation and gives the Wilson family a chance to make amends. It's also an opportunity for you to plan for Lila's future. Why not follow this plan? It ensures the Wilson family pays the price while allowing everyone to benefit."

Lucas listened to my words, remaining silent for a long time. Finally, he looked at Jeffrey and said hoarsely, "I get what you're saying. But every time I see Lila suffering, it hurts so much."

His eyes reddened slightly as he struggled to calm himself before speaking, "I'm really afraid that if I let the Wilson family off too easily, Lila will think I don't care about her pain."

I patted Lucas's shoulder and said earnestly, "Everyone sees how much you love Lila. But what we're doing now isn't about completely forgiving the Wilson family; it's about making them pay for their mistakes in a more effective way while securing a better future for Lila. If this project succeeds, the benefits and influence will far outweigh simply destroying the Wilson family. You can use these resources to provide Lila with better treatment and a safer environment, giving her more security."

Hearing this, Jeffrey glanced at me with a hint of admiration. A seemingly irreconcilable conflict was finally showing signs of resolution through our discussion. Jeffrey and I exchanged a knowing look.

After our conversation, I learned that Jeffrey was not only an outstanding lawyer but also the sole heir to the Adams Group, a business empire spanning two continents. The Adams Group's influence in global political and business circles was deeply entrenched, and it had immense wealth. Why would Jeffrey step in to mediate this matter? Or was there a deeper strategy at play?
