Chapter 427 Sex Slave

Jeffrey's lips curled into a sinister smile, his neck slowly tilting to one side, the veins bulging out with the movement, pulsing slightly with his breath.

His eyes turned fierce in an instant. "Alright, you got it right. Anne is indeed obsessed with luxury goods and fancy mansions. But she won't be enjoying any of that now."

Jeffrey's voice was cold and deliberate. "She's been imprisoned by Nicholas, reduced to his sex slave. Her life now is worse than death."

I was stunned, my eyes widening in shock. I blurted out, "What did you say? How is that possible? What happened?"

Jeffrey let out a disdainful snort, his face full of mockery. "What, are you scared? You're too naive, Diana. The world is far more complicated than you think. Anne's arrogant attitude, backed by Nicholas, made her reckless. Now she's facing retribution, and it's well-deserved."

I felt my body tremble uncontrollably, my hands instinctively hugging myself, trying to fend off the coldness rising from within.

I fought to keep my shock in check, gritting my teeth as I spoke, "Even so, she shouldn't be subjected to such inhumane torture. This is too much! She was your girlfriend, how can you stand by and watch her fall to this?"

Jeffrey's lips twisted, his face growing colder.

He shrugged indifferently. "Girlfriend? It was just mutual exploitation. In this circle, you have to understand that every action comes with a price. She was always reckless, and now she's just facing the consequences. That's reality, nothing to sympathize with."

I frowned deeply, looking at this cold-hearted man before me, filled with anger and sorrow. "You speak so lightly, but this is a human life, a person's dignity. How can you be so heartless?"

Jeffrey shrugged again, his voice still icy. "Dignity? In the face of interests, dignity is worthless. She chose that path, now she has to bear everything that comes with it."

Jeffrey's gaze locked onto me, capturing every subtle change in my expression.

His lips curled into a mocking smile, filled with malice. "What, are you scared? Imagine Edward's reaction if he knew his sister's current state. He might go crazy and try to fight Nicholas."

Hearing him mention Edward and Anne, my heart skipped a beat, my mind racing with thoughts. I blurted out, "You know about Anne and Edward's relationship?"

Jeffrey shrugged nonchalantly, his face showing a feigned calmness, his shoulders moving casually as if discussing something trivial, but his eyes gleamed with a complex madness.

"Of course I know she's Edward's stepsister. Diana, you know, ever since I learned how Anne used to torment you, I've hated her. Those days must have been so hard for you, every time I think about it, my heart aches. She bullied you recklessly, relying on Edward's support. So I hinted to Nicholas to teach her a lesson, to show her she can't always get her way. Who knew Nicholas would take such an interest in her, imprisoning and torturing her. It's just her getting what she deserves."

I frowned slightly, feeling a mix of emotions, taking a deep breath before speaking calmly, "The past is the past. I've moved on and don't want those experiences to affect my future."

Jeffrey stepped forward, his eyes filled with eagerness and anticipation. "Diana, you have to understand, everything I did was for you. I couldn't stand seeing you bullied by her, so I took drastic measures. Now things have escalated, and you see, my feelings for you have never changed. Be with me, I'll do everything to protect you, never let you suffer again. I can give you a stable life, keep you away from harm. For the future, give me a chance, give yourself a new start, okay?"

I looked at Jeffrey, feeling an overwhelming sense of unfamiliarity and fear.

At first, I thought he was a righteous and brave lawyer, then I thought he was a family-pressured heir. But now, seeing his sinister and crazy side, I felt chills down my spine.

My brows furrowed tightly, my eyes filled with disgust.

I fought to suppress my fear and anger, gritting my teeth as I spoke, "Jeffrey, you've gone too far. Even if Anne was wrong, she shouldn't be subjected to such inhumane torture. This is a crime, and you will face retribution."

Jeffrey laughed dismissively, his head thrown back, mouth wide open, the sharp laughter echoing in the empty room, sounding particularly piercing.

"Retribution? I'm not afraid. What can Edward do to me? If he dares to touch me, Nicholas won't spare him. Besides, even if Edward knows, what can he change? Anne's already been tortured beyond recognition, there's no going back."

My hands clenched into fists, nails digging into my palms, the pain nowhere near the anger and sorrow I felt inside.

I stared at Jeffrey, speaking slowly and deliberately. "You know the law, you know you'll pay the price."

With that, I turned to leave this place that made me sick, my steps hurried, almost tripping over the carpet, forgetting this was my office, he should be the one to leave.

Jeffrey stopped laughing, a smug look on his face, his voice confident. "I know the law better than anyone. That's why I planned everything meticulously, leaving no trace. No one can find a flaw in what I've done."

I turned back, my gaze cold as I looked at him, gritting my teeth. "You're deceiving yourself. Evil deeds always leave traces."

Jeffrey stepped forward, his face showing a self-proclaimed deep affection.

"Diana, don't be stubborn. No matter what, my feelings for you haven't changed. I'll always be by your side, protecting you. I promise, no one will hurt you again."

I turned away in disgust, rejecting him without hesitation. "Jeffrey, stop pretending. I don't need your protection. Your so-called protection is built on hurting others, and it makes me sick. From now on, I don't want to see you again. Get out!"
