Chapter 384 Negative Information

While Amy was busy sorting out the documents, I found myself daydreaming again.

Before I knew it, Amy handed me the finished files.

I took a look at them and realized that the Wilson Group was solid in traditional services, while the Cooper Group was killing it in new tech. There was definitely some potential for a great partnership here.

As I was mentally mapping out our collaboration strategy, I didn't even notice it was time to clock out.

Stretching and glancing at the sunset outside, I was about to head out when my phone buzzed with a video call from David. A bit surprised, I quickly straightened up and answered.

David's tired face popped up on the screen, surrounded by stacks of paperwork.

Despite his exhaustion, I saw a spark in his eyes. "Diana, I want to talk about the collaboration."

Seeing his enthusiasm, I felt a rush of excitement too. "Perfect timing. I’ve got some ideas. Let’s dive in. I'll send you the documents I’ve prepared."

I shared the documents through the video call, pointing out the overlapping business areas.

"Check this out," I said, highlighting key points. "We can merge traditional services with new tech. The Wilson Group’s services can get a boost from the Cooper Group’s smart tech. Think big data to match customer needs or smart robots for quick responses. This will up our service game and open new markets, attracting more customers who want top-notch, personalized services."

David nodded eagerly. "Diana, this is brilliant! We can definitely make this work."

But then he looked a bit worried. "The Wilson Group is tight on cash right now, which could make the initial investment tough." He leaned in, hoping I had a solution.

I squinted, thinking for a moment. "The Wilson Group has been in traditional services for ages. You must have some solid partners. Have you thought about using those relationships to ease the financial strain?"

David frowned, deep in thought. After a few seconds, his eyes lit up. "You mean supply chain finance? Working with financial institutions to get funds upfront?"

I smiled and nodded. "Exactly. That’s a good start."

"But it might not be enough," David said.

"The Cooper Group has a strong tech development team. They’ll back you up when needed," I reassured him.

David thought for a moment and then said slowly, "Maybe we can use the Wilson Group’s market channels to get their funding and tech support, opening up bigger markets."I grinned and said, "See? Problems can be solved. What’s still bugging you?"

David’s face lit up with newfound confidence. "Diana, thank you so much. I finally feel hopeful!"

As we dove into the intense preparations, we hit a series of tough problems. The biggest one was dealing with the financial institutions.

Even though David and his team worked tirelessly, prepping detailed info, some financial institutions were still skeptical about the Wilson Group’s financial health, dragging out the approval process.

David and I knew this wasn’t going to be easy. We decided to visit those financial institutions that were on the fence to get to the bottom of their hesitation.

In one meeting, the rep seemed hesitant and dodgy, which made me think he had some concerns.

After some persistent questioning from David and me, he finally spilled the beans. They had received anonymous emails with negative info about the Wilson Group, detailing supposed financial loopholes and risks, making them wary of collaborating.

"Your project sounds great, but the financial risk with the Wilson Group is too high," the rep told us bluntly.

I knew we needed solid proof to counter this. More importantly, who was behind those anonymous emails?

After leaving the meeting, David was fuming. "Someone’s definitely stirring up trouble! Our finances are tight, but not as bad as those emails claim. We’ve been working on it."

I was serious too, with a suspicion forming in my mind.

Instead of heading back to the office, I went straight to Stellar Legal Advisors.

"Lila, I’ve got an urgent and tricky task for you," I said seriously.

Lila quickly stood up. I explained, "It’s about David. Anonymous emails with false negative info about the Wilson Group were sent to financial institutions, causing delays. I need you to trace these emails and find out who’s behind them."

Lila nodded. "Don’t worry. I’m on it."

Meanwhile, David wasn’t sitting idle. He used his financial connections to dig for info.

A few days later, the clues started to come together, and an unexpected name popped up—Anne.

Apparently, she had been meeting with high-level execs at several financial institutions. After each meeting, their attitude towards the Wilson Group collaboration became more cautious.

Lila used some advanced tech to break through barriers and traced the anonymous emails back to a shell company under Anne’s name.

"How could it be her? I thought it was Fiona trying to steal resources to support Edward," David said, shocked and angry, slamming the table.

Seeing David’s agitation, I stayed calm. "Now’s not the time for anger. We need more concrete evidence."
