Chapter 153 Let's Have a Baby!
Edward noticed the shift in me and started to move more gently. He cupped my face softly, his eyes a mix of desire, longing, and a hint of deep affection.
He leaned in and kissed me gently, like he was handling something precious. That kiss was cautious, almost reverent. As he kissed me, all those old feelings of love came rushing back. I let my hands drop from his chest, my body relaxing, and I began to kiss him back.
Sensing my change, Edward kissed me more passionately. His hands slipped under my dress, moving up my thighs until they reached my most private area. Suddenly, I snapped back to reality, my legs trembling, and I quickly clamped them together.
Edward noticed my hesitation and turned my face to him. "I've seen you in every way possible, so why are you getting shy now?" he said.
He spread my legs and slipped off my dress. His eyes fell on my slightly bulging abdomen, and he smirked. "Looks like you've been living well; you've even gained some weight here."
He placed his hand on my lower abdomen, his fingers curving slightly to feel the softness. "Feels pretty good," he murmured in a low, seductive voice.
His fingers started to glide slowly, like he was playing a silent melody. The touch of his fingers took me back to the first time I saw him, his focused expression while playing the piano. His hands, warm and gentle, moved over my skin, sending tiny electric currents through my body.
"Edward, you can't..." I started to say, but he silenced me with his lips. My heart pounded, my mind a mess. His kiss had a magical pull, drawing me back into his world.
My body softened, leaning closer to him. Edward's hand wrapped tightly around my waist, like he wanted to merge us into one. His kiss moved from my cheek to my earlobe, his warm breath on my skin making my heart race.
"You are mine, always," he whispered in my ear.
I closed my eyes tightly, love and hate battling inside me. I knew falling for him again could lead to disaster, but his closeness was irresistible.
"Let's have a child too!" he said, loosening his grip slightly but keeping his eyes on me. In his deep gaze, I saw the part of me that once did everything for him. That love had never disappeared, just buried deep.
'We will have a child,' I thought silently, my hand trembling as I reached up to touch his face, tracing his familiar contours with my fingertips.
I gripped Edward's arms tightly, knowing my desire for him was stronger than my hatred. He picked up on my feelings and pulled me close, his body swiftly joining with mine. Each thrust sent electric shocks through me, making me moan softly.
His hands roamed my back, leaving sparks in their wake, making me shiver. The narrow car filled with the scent of cologne and the hormones of passion, creating an intimate, dreamy atmosphere. In that moment, it felt like the world had disappeared, leaving just the two of us, lost in a whirlpool of love and desire.
When it was over, I looked out at the trees speeding past the window and said, "You need to be careful of Aria."
Edward cut me off as soon as I mentioned her. "You know about it?"
"What?" I wanted him to tell me himself, hoping to hear the whole story from him.
"Aria is pregnant, and the child is mine," Edward said calmly.
I nodded slightly, showing that I knew.
"How did Aria get pregnant?" I had heard different stories and didn't know which one was true.
"Does it matter?" Edward's eyes darkened.
"As your wife, don't I at least have the right to know?" I shot back.
"This is my fault, but it's in the past. If you're willing to move forward with me, I'll treat you well, just like I always have. I've told you this before." Edward's words left me speechless. The Howard family was certainly peculiar.
"That's not all I want to say." I tried to explain, "Don't you think it's suspicious that Aria suddenly came back and is willing to have your child?"
Edward remained unmoved. "This is an issue between the Howard family and Aria; it has nothing to do with you," he said.
I felt he was being unreasonable. Not wanting to waste more words, I simply said, "Take care of yourself."
Edward frowned, impatience flashing in his eyes. He reached out and pressed the intercom button to speak to the driver. "Take Diana back to where you picked her up," he said coldly. The driver, probably surprised by the order, slowed the car and silently adjusted the route.
As the driver sharply turned the wheel, the car swerved abruptly, causing a violent jolt and the tires to screech. I grabbed the handrail to steady myself. The car sped back along the route we had come, the scenery outside the window rapidly receding like a slideshow in reverse. The familiar streets now seemed strangely unfamiliar, much like my relationship with Edward—suddenly distant and unreachable.
The car stopped by the roadside, and I got out without hesitation, not looking back. Watching the car drive away, I knew another rift had formed between Edward and me. Stellar Legal Advisors was still a considerable distance away, so I had no choice but to walk back.
Anger surged through me like waves, making my steps hurried and my cheeks flushed. The wind brushed against my face, but it couldn't blow away the frustration and bitterness in my heart.
Seeing me return, Lila quickly poured me a glass of water. "Did Edward believe what you said?" she asked with concern.
