Chapter 44 The Waves of Love
Tears welled up in my eyes again, emotions crashing over me like a tidal wave. I sneaked a glance at Edward, hoping for some comfort, but his eyes were blank. I knew the calmer his eyes, the more chaos was brewing inside him. My heart sank, and the flood of grievances broke through.
"Why is it okay for you?" My voice cracked, heavy with resentment.
"You can do whatever you want with Anne, but I can't even have friends?" This question kept stabbing at me, like a thorn lodged deep in my heart.
"You're not me," Edward said with disdain. I used to be proud, but four years as Mrs. Howard had worn me down, leaving only Edward in my world.
Edward gently turned me around, pressing me onto the sofa with an irresistible force.
"Not here, please," I begged, trying to break free, but Edward held my wrist tight, not letting me go.
"Diana, we're not divorced yet. You need to fulfill your duty as my wife," he said.
I trembled slightly, letting Edward control my body. When he looked into my teary eyes, a flash of impatience crossed his face. Suddenly, he kissed my eye. My heartbeat seemed to stop, and the world went silent. I closed my eyes, tilting my head slightly, feeling the warmth of his lips. His fingers were long and warm, sending a current through my body. That current had a magical power, making me tremble. I was drawn to his kiss, moved by his tenderness. I wanted to resist, but my reason was being swallowed by desire.
Edward's fingers slid into my hair, down my neck, and to my back. He stroked my hair, his voice low and magnetic, like a heavenly melody. I thought he cared about me, but he always only cared about his own feelings.
I opened my eyes, looking at his face. His chiseled features made my heart throb again.
Just looking at his face, I still liked Edward. We had many issues to resolve, but at this moment, I wanted to believe that love could conquer all. But I wasn't sure if Edward's feelings for me were love or control.
Every movement of his had an elegance and steadiness that made my heartbeat quicken, pounding like a drum.
His warm breath brushed against my cheek, making it flush. His kiss was as gentle as a feather, moving from my eyes to behind my ear, then down my neck, finally stopping between my breasts. His breath on my chest made it hard to breathe, and my heart softened involuntarily.
The deep desire within me was ignited by Edward's passionate kiss. Our bodies pressed tightly together, our temperatures blending. Edward's kiss became fervent and wild, and his hands began to explore every sensitive part of my body. I responded passionately to Edward's kisses and caresses, my hands also starting to explore his body.
Edward had a great physique, without an ounce of fat, even with faint muscle lines on his abdomen. I traced his abs downward, touching the softness and firmness of his groin. My body seemed to be consumed by an invisible flame. I never thought I would experience such an intense emotional storm in a dim basement. When he entered my body, I no longer resisted, my suppressed emotions venting in another way. My wanton moans echoed in the dark basement, no longer making me feel afraid. Until his low roar, the milky white liquid flowed from between my legs, and we slowly separated.
With that, a burst of light footsteps approached. "Edward! Diana, what are you doing?!" In an instant, my heart felt like it was struck by a heavy hammer, my mind went blank, and my body stiffened.
Anne's face was pale, her lips trembling slightly. Her gaze shifted between Edward and me, filled with complex emotions. I could feel my cheeks burning.
