Chapter 83 You Owe Me Tonight
The night grew darker as the car cruised down a quiet road.
The engine's hum broke the silence, and the high beams, like sharp eyes, sliced through the darkness. The headlights stretched out, leading us to a romantic hotel at the end of the road.
This enchanting hotel felt like a world apart, a secluded haven imbued with serenity, mystery, and an inviting warmth, designed for couples seeking pleasure.
"You picked a great spot," Edward said as he stepped out of the car, gazing up at the grand hotel in front of us. The golden glow was even more intense and dazzling against the night, like a castle straight out of a fairy tale. The entrance looked like a mysterious gateway, pulling us in.
Inside the lobby, a whole new scene unfolded. The ceiling was super high, with a massive mural of a starry sky. Tiny lights mimicked stars, casting a faint but enchanting glow.
I thought we were probably like those stars, each shining brightly in the vast night sky of life.
The front desk staff, dressed in neat uniforms, greeted us warmly. After showing our IDs, they quickly checked us in. A nearby waiter handed us a bottle of red wine. "This is a special gift of our hotel's homemade red wine for you. Please, come inside."
Even though everyone knew why people came to this hotel, no one ever said it out loud. The red wine from the waiter eased my embarrassment.
Edward and I followed the waiter to our room. The whole place was dripping with romance. Even the corridor walls were covered with love-themed paintings, showing couples embracing and kissing in different scenes, like they were telling various love stories. The soft glow from the wall lamps added a cozy vibe to the corridor.
"The soundproofing here is great. All the way here, I only heard soft music, not a single sound," Edward whispered in my ear.
My cheeks instantly turned red. I knew this was his hint to me. I gently pinched his arm, giving him a response.
The waiter opened the door for us. The room was big but not empty, with every detail perfectly creating a romantic and cozy atmosphere. A huge round bed was in the center, covered with pink petals on a silk bedspread, rich in ambiance.
"Have a wonderful night," the waiter said, placing the unopened red wine and two crystal-clear glasses on the coffee table, nodding slightly before leaving the room.
I looked around the room. In one corner of the room was a light blue bathtub, like a tranquil little ocean. I imagined spending the night here with my beloved, making love on the soft round bed, by the bright floor-to-ceiling window, and in the ocean-like bathtub.
I sat down on the bed, which sank slightly, giving me a sense of security. My hand accidentally touched a mechanism at the head of the bed, and suddenly a ring of lights lit up above, revealing a mirror as large as the bed on the ceiling, capturing the entire view of the bed. As Edward said, "The soundproofing of the hotel is good."
So good that I could hear my heartbeat.
"You picked a good place. I didn't expect you had this kind of interest," Edward said excitedly, his eyes sparkling.
He stood by the cabinet, holding a small whip. Inside the cabinet were chains, collars, candles, a bundle of red ropes, and various adult toys. My face turned even redder, my cheeks burning hot.
Lila recommended this hotel to me after Edward and I got hitched. Back then, I was frustrated with Edward's lack of desire. I confided in Lila once, and she suggested this place, saying no man could come here and not want to get it on. But I was too shy to bring Edward here until now. And wow, this place is something else.
I silently wondered, 'Does Lila know what's inside this hotel? She called it romantic, but I didn't expect this kind of romantic.'
The sound of the wine bottle opening snapped me back to reality.
"The hotel's homemade red wine is pretty good. Care to join me for a drink?" Edward was already lounging on the sofa, his long legs crossed. He held a glass, raising it slightly. I took my glass and clinked it gently with his.
I was puzzled. This was my first time here, but Edward seemed to know the wine was good. Could it be? I didn't want to think further and took a sip of the wine.
It was indeed good.
I sat on Edward's lap, supporting myself on the back of the sofa, trapping him in the corner. The room's lighting was very suggestive, casting our intertwined shadows.
Edward was tall, and even though I was 5'8", it was still a bit tricky to completely encircle him. So, when he moved slightly, my face pressed tightly against his neck.
He smiled and lifted me entirely, placing me in the bathtub. I then realized that the bathtub was open, making it impossible to hide. Whether on the bed or the sofa, the view of the bathtub was unobstructed. I pulled Edward's tie, bringing his face closer to mine.
"In such a hurry?" Edward smiled playfully.
Looking at his smile, I suddenly wanted to ask if he really wanted to start over with me or if he just couldn't part with my body. No need to ask; his eyes had already given me the answer. Over the years, his harm to me had accumulated bit by bit. How could he want to start over in less than a month after I returned to the country? I persuaded myself not to dwell on the past and to focus on the present.
Edward pinched my chin, bringing his face closer, his thin lips pressing against mine. Cold and soft.
I closed my eyes, and everything was about to fall into place. Then Edward's phone rang, with Anne's video call ringtone.
I awkwardly opened my eyes and let go of Edward's tie.
"Your phone is ringing," I said softly, but a surge of anger inexplicably rose in my heart.
Edward straightened up, took out his phone from his pocket, glanced at me, and walked out to take the call. Even when he stepped away to take the call, I knew exactly what was being said on the other end. But Edward cared too much about his image and probably didn't want my emotions to be affected at this moment.
A few minutes later, Edward returned to the room with his phone, looking at me with a hesitant expression. I stepped out of the bathtub, water dripping down my white shirt, which was now soaked and semi-transparent.
