Chapter 68 I'd Be Willing to Spend Another Three Million Dollars

His penis was still inside me, almost stretching my vagina to its limit. His words made me blush with shame. He had long noticed David's feelings for me, but I no longer had the strength to speak, only responding with low hums.

Edward's phone rang; it was Anne's video call ringtone. But he didn't have time to care. He hung up the phone in a hurry and went at it again. The next morning, I woke up in the tent. There were signs he had been next to me, but it was cold now. Looked like Edward had taken off a while ago. The marks on my light green dress were a reminder of everything that went down last night.

I got up, washed up, and changed out of that light green dress.

"Edward, this is what I want. No rush; I've got time," I said to my reflection, my beautiful face looking a bit cold.

I slipped into a plain white dress and put on some light makeup, planning to grab something. I skipped dinner last night and Edward kept me busy for hours, so I was starving. After breakfast, I planned to head straight back to Wind City. Edward had agreed to let me return to Stellar Legal Advisors, so the mission was accomplished.

Back at the familiar yet strange Howard Villa, I was alone today, which was rare. I decided to use the time to tidy up and get rid of some junk.

Walking into the main bedroom, I saw a heartbreaking sight: my wardrobe doors were wide open, and a strange perfume scent filled the air. My clothes were piled messily in the corner, replaced by gaudy dresses. Anne's dresses.

Sunlight streamed through the window, highlighting the mess and making me feel even more embarrassed. I walked over and picked up a wrinkled white dress, once my favorite. I had worn it during so many great moments, but now it was stuffed in the corner like a rag, with a footprint on the back.

Anger flared up inside me. Just a few months away, and my house and wardrobe had been taken over. I felt like an outsider in my own home.

I kept asking myself, why could Anne still blatantly invade my space and mess up my things? This time, my thoughts became clearer, and I secretly vowed that I wouldn't be easily driven out of my life by her.

This wasn't just about a wardrobe; it was an invasion of my entire household's sovereignty. I had to let Anne know that I was the queen of this house, and she was just a disgraceful intruder. I would take back everything that belonged to me and give her the punishment she deserved.

I squatted in front of the pile of dirty and disorganized clothes thrown in the corner by Anne, feeling very confused. Each item seemed like a hurt child, lying helplessly in the corner, silently accusing, just like my once shattered dignity.

No matter how much I liked these things in the past, they lost their meaning now. I decided to pack everything up and discard them. From today on, I would say goodbye to my past self and start a new life.

I took a cab to the mall, planning to buy a few new high-end designer pieces. My figure was excellent, and any clothes looked like they were custom-made for me. In the past, I often bought cheap stuff online, but now I wanted only the best, using Edward's card. Even for the sake of dignity, Edward wouldn't refuse.

Three days later, Edward returned to Wind City as promised. As soon as he saw me, his eyes became resentful.

"Mrs. Howard!" Edward called out to me as Lila and I were coming out of the mall with several shopping bags. "You left without saying goodbye? And spent $3 million on my card in just a few days?"

Lila whispered beside me, "Such a jerk. He can't even bear to spend a little money on you!"

Edward's tone wasn't angry or upset; it actually sounded kind of approving.

I walked up, hung the shopping bags on Edward's arm, and then straightened his tie, saying softly, "You wouldn't spend $3 million to make me happy?"

Edward pinched my cheek and whispered in my ear, "I'd be willing to spend another $3 million."

Lila probably couldn't stand seeing us being all lovey-dovey in public and shouted, "Diana, I'm heading back," before jumping into a cab.

Edward and I didn't head straight back to Howard Villa. Instead, we went to the Howard mansion first. Edward said he hadn't seen Hayden and Clara in a while and needed to check in after his business trip. I figured Anne was also at the mansion, and he probably wanted to bring her back.

We were quiet the whole way and soon arrived at the Howard mansion. Anne came bounding out like an excited puppy and threw herself into Edward's arms, "Edward, you're back. I missed you so much. Did you miss me?" Edward didn't answer, just gently patted her back.

Clara was also happy to see us, following Anne out to greet us. "You're so busy with work. Why run back and forth? You should rest when you have time."

Clara was always concerned about Edward. He hugged her, and they walked into the house together. Anne and I followed behind, not saying a word.

I thought Edward would at least be affectionate with Anne when he saw her, but he went straight into Hayden's study and stayed there all afternoon.

"Diana, don't blame me for nagging you," Clara said, pulling me to sit on the sofa. "You've been married to Edward for four years, right?"

I nodded.

The wedding felt like it was just yesterday, but it had already been four years.

"Four years is a long time. You've drunk a lot of herbal soup over these years, but nothing's happened. Could it be that the method is wrong?" Clara was very concerned about the Howard family's descendants.

"Method is wrong?" I couldn't understand what Clara meant. Edward was my first and only man, and I had no way to compare him with others.

Seeing my confusion, Clara laughed, "A few days ago, I heard a little trick from the servants. They said that during the fertile window, if the man initiates sex, the couple is more likely to have a daughter. If the woman takes the initiative, they will definitely have a son. Hayden's health is getting worse, and his biggest concern is you and Edward's child. I think next month, during those days, you shouldn't worry about being ladylike. Be proactive and get pregnant as soon as possible." I didn't expect Clara to talk to me about such private matters, and my face instantly turned red with embarrassment.

I suddenly noticed Anne playing a game on another sofa. I wasn't sure if she heard my conversation with Clara.

It wasn't until dinner time that Edward and Hayden came out of the study, both looking not very happy. I was thinking about going back to work at Stellar Legal Advisors and had no interest in chatting. Only Anne was talking to Edward, who responded to her occasionally without much enthusiasm.

After dinner, Anne was nowhere to be seen. After chatting with Hayden and Clara for a while, Edward and I were ready to go back to the villa. Just as we were about to leave, Anne ran over with her small suitcase, "Edward, don't you want me? I want to go back to Howard Villa with you."

Edward glanced at me but didn't move. I had to get out of the car and put Anne's luggage in the trunk. Anne eagerly sat in the front passenger seat, and I, not angry, sat in the back seat.
