Chapter 237 Edward's Self-Rescue

Finally, after Albert's digging, Edward found out that the one causing all the chaos for the Howard Group was Aria.

Edward lost it and trashed his office.

"Is Mr. Howard having a meltdown?" Aria asked as she strolled in.

Albert, looking worried, said, "Yeah, and he hasn't eaten or drunk anything for two days."

Aria knew that once the plan to drain the Howard Group started, it was out of her hands. She just needed to push a little more to completely knock Edward off his throne. She thought, 'The Howard Group will be mine soon enough.'

With that in mind, she pushed open the door to Edward's office.

Seeing Aria, Edward walked to the window and stared out, deep in thought.

He said, "All these years, the Howard family treated you like one of us. How could you team up with outsiders to bring us down? Do you think your dead parents would be proud of you?"

Aria stood there, a cold smile on her lips, a glint of triumph in her eyes.

"Family? Don't kid yourself. When did you ever really treat me like family? To you, I'm just a pawn. You wanted a kid, so I got pregnant. When Anne made me miscarry, you acted like it was nothing. You wanted Diana back in the mansion, so you kicked me out. Everyone's more important to you than me. Is that what you call family?" Aria stepped closer, her voice icy.

"I'm just taking back what's mine." With that, Aria laughed loudly.

Edward's face turned red with anger. Through clenched teeth, he hissed, "The Howard Group is my father's legacy. If I can sit in the CEO's chair, of course, I can keep it. You're not ready for me. The louder you laugh today, the harder you'll fall tomorrow."

But Aria just shrugged.

"Fine, I'll wait and see how long you can struggle as a desperate loser." With that, Aria swept out of Edward's office, head held high.

Edward was boiling with rage, but he knew arguing with someone so deceitful was pointless. His priority was saving the Howard Group and making sure the empire he and Hayden built stayed strong.

After Aria left, Albert stepped into Edward's office.

"What resources do we still have?" Edward asked, rubbing his temples to calm down.

"The Griffin family is the best in overseas business in Wind City, but we've never worked with them. We'll need someone to help us make that connection," Albert replied, having already looked into it.

"The Griffin family," Edward muttered, thinking of David.

"You mean the Griffin family that's about to team up with the Wilson family?"

Albert nodded, and hope sparked in Edward's eyes.

He said, "Let's go visit Daniel."

With that, Edward got up and headed for the door, with Albert hustling to keep up.

When they got to the Wilson Group, the receptionist greeted them with a smile. "Mr. Howard, right this way. Mr. Wilson's been expecting you."

A few moments later, an assistant led them to a big, bright meeting room.

Inside, Daniel was lounging on a sofa, his smile perfectly measured, eyes sharp with business acumen.

Edward quickly stepped forward, extending his hand. "Mr. Wilson, it's been a while. I'm in a tough spot and need your help."

Daniel shook Edward's hand lightly and motioned for them to sit. "I've heard a bit about the Howard Group's troubles. What can I do for you, Mr. Howard?" he asked.

Edward didn't waste any time. He laid out how Aria had teamed up with an overseas scam group to defraud the Howard Group and his plan to ally with the Griffin family.

Daniel sat quietly, thinking it over.

Seeing no immediate response, Edward added, "If we can get the Griffin family's support, the Howard Group can dodge a lot of pitfalls. Naturally, there will be benefits for you too."

Daniel's face lit up with a smile. He said, "I had a good relationship with your father years ago, and our families have often worked together. I can put in a word for you, but whether it works out depends on the Griffin family."

Hope flickered in Edward's heart, though he kept his face calm. "Thank you, Mr. Wilson," he said.

Daniel waved his hand, still smiling. "Don't thank me yet. I'll set up a business meeting with all the major companies in Wind City. The opportunity will be yours to seize."

As Edward and Albert left the Wilson Group, Albert was buzzing with excitement.

"This is great! Our company is saved," he said.

Edward exhaled deeply. "No matter the outcome, we have a glimmer of hope now."

Thanks to Aria, the Howard Group was in chaos. As the leader, Edward was overwhelmed and had no energy to focus on me, let alone push forward the plan to acquire the Cooper Group.

But I didn't want to waste any more time on the stock acquisition. After much thought, I called Theo. "Edward can't help himself right now, so taking back all the Cooper Group shares is up to us."

Theo, already aware of the Howard Group's turmoil, nodded without hesitation.

"Don't worry. Without his interference, we have the strength and strategy to secure the Cooper Group shares," he said.

Sensing Theo's confidence, I felt relieved and decided to leave it all to him.

Sure enough, within a few days, Theo handed me several stock purchase contracts. I was pleased to see that each contract was within my ideal price range.
