Chapter 119 How about we join forces and make that damn Aria disappear?

"She's nothing more than a pet of the Howard family, shamelessly wagging her tail and trying to have a child with Edward!"

I felt a sharp pain in my heart, the ache spreading rapidly through my chest.

Edward had claimed that Aria was just his friend and never mentioned anything about her having a baby with him. However, both David and Anne said Aria wanted to have a baby with Edward. Considering Edward's evasive eyes, I had a rough idea in my mind.

"Do you also want to have a baby with Edward?" I tried to steady myself and continued to ask. Anne walked over to me, leaned close to my ear, and asked, "Diana, don't you want to?"

I shook my head. "I used to, but not anymore."

She didn't expect me to say that, her face full of disbelief, her mouth slightly open. "You don't want to?" she asked.

I shook my head again. "Thanks to you, after your repeated sabotage, my feelings for Edward are gone."

Although my words shocked Anne greatly, they also completely exposed my thoughts. At that moment, since things had come to this, I didn't care anymore.

Anne chuckled lightly. "Then we are allies."

I didn't understand why Anne said that; my eyes were full of confusion as I stared straight into hers. Anne slowly sat back on the hospital bed, gently touching the wound on her abdomen. "Diana, let's make a deal!"

"What deal?" I asked curiously, unable to resist.

She beckoned me over. "Come here."

I walked to her bedside and sat down. She started giving me orders. "Peel an apple for me."

However, I didn't want to argue with her at that moment. I reached for an apple from the small table by the bed and started peeling it with a fruit knife.

"Aria wants to have a baby with Edward, and that's Hayden's idea. But I also want to have a baby with Edward. Since you don't want to, why don't we join forces and make that damn Aria disappear?" she said.

I was so engrossed in her words that the fruit knife fell to the ground. "What do you mean?" I asked.

Seeing my panicked look, Anne curled her lips into a smug smile.

"Do you really think I want to kill her?" she gently combed her long hair with her hand, lowered her head slightly, and said thoughtfully, "Although no one would know if I killed Aria, I'm not as ruthless as you. I just want her to go back to where she came from and never see Edward again."

"Go back to where she came from?" I murmured. Edward's words about Aria coming back from abroad flashed through my mind, and I turned to ask Anne, "Where did she come from?"

A hint of repression flashed across Anne's face, and her eyes showed some confusion. "You really don't recognize her?" she asked.

I shook my head in confusion.

"Remember a few years back when Edward saved a family of three from a car accident, but only the daughter survived?" Anne's voice was urgent, as she leaned forward with anxious eyes. I looked out the window, my mind drifting. Yeah, I vaguely remembered something like that. I wasn't married to Edward yet, but I think David mentioned it.

"Is it her?" I asked, unsure.

Anne nodded vigorously. "Yeah, she was the one who survived, but she was seriously injured and disfigured. Edward and Hayden helped her bury her parents and gave her a bunch of money to go to Veridian for plastic surgery and to continue her studies."

"Do you know the origin of her name?" Anne suddenly asked.

"Her name? What do you mean?" I frowned, confused.

"Don't you think her name sounds a lot like the one Edward used to use?" Anne's eyes were locked on me, as if she tried to guide my thoughts. I frowned, thinking it over. Yeah, it did seem familiar.

"So there really was such a girl back then," I muttered, surprised.

Anne looked smug, her eyebrows raised. "Do you think I'd lie to you? And I'll tell you a secret." She leaned close, lowering her voice. "She wanted to marry Edward, but how could a family like ours accept a girl from such a poor place? That's why my parents chose you."

This really threw me. My marriage to Edward was a mutual choice by both families for their businesses. Among all the girls at the time, none dared to step forward, except me, who boldly expressed my love for Edward. I always thought I had earned the chance to marry Edward, but it turned out the Howard family had planned it all along. Thinking of this, I felt a wave of bitterness hit me, a self-mocking smile crossing my face. My marriage was a joke, and I was the only one who took it seriously.

Noticing my silence, Anne smiled lightly. "Diana, I know you don't like her either. I hate her too. Compared to her, I'd rather choose you as my brother's wife. After all, you've been good to me all these years. If you help me get rid of her, I won't compete with you for the position of Mrs. Howard, since you can't have children anyway."

I widened my eyes, shocked, my heart churning. I hadn't expected Anne to be so cunning, hiding such a ruthless heart beneath her innocent appearance. I bit my lip, trying to steady my emotions. After a moment, I spoke slowly, "Alright, what do you want to do?"

After saying this, I felt a wave of complex emotions. How had I become entangled in such a calculating dispute? I once believed life could go on peacefully, but that illusion was shattered by this sudden change. I was both shocked by Anne's ruthless methods and uncertain about whether I was making the right choice. Although I had no desire to cooperate with her, I wanted to hear what she had to say. This young girl, who had tried countless times to kill me, was indeed worth understanding.

"It's simple. We just need to make sure she can't get pregnant, and then I'll find a way to send her abroad," Anne said.

"Do you think you have the power to influence the Howard family's thoughts?" I retorted, raising my chin slightly in disdain.
