"Hello, who's looking for Luna?" Charles answered the phone, playing dumb.
He didn't feel awkward at all.
On the other end, Warren instantly recognized Luna's husband's voice.
He didn't expect them to be close enough to answer each other's calls.
Warren felt a pang of discomfort.
"I'm Luna's colleague. I need to talk to her about something."
Warren tried to hide his jealousy and sound normal.
"She's cooking for me right now, so she can't come to the phone. Just tell me, and I'll pass the message along." Charles's voice was cool and indifferent, with a hint of authority.
"I..." Warren hesitated.
"Warren, what's up?" By this time, Luna had taken off her gloves and was reaching for the phone from Charles.
But Charles moved faster and put the phone to her ear.
"Your hands smell like fish. Don't get it everywhere. I'll hold it for you." Charles replied as he stood behind Luna, holding the phone close to her ear, listening to her conversation with Warren.
In the past, if Luna even touched his fingers, he would quickly pull away. Now, Charles was willing to hold the phone for her, letting her hair brush against his hand, a tickling sensation that constantly stirred his heart.
In front of Luna, he was no longer tense but stood behind her relaxed, following her around the kitchen.
Several times when he almost bumped into her, he naturally reached out to protect her, as if he was holding her from behind.
This feeling had an inexplicable attraction for him.
He was a person indifferent to desire and emotion, but when he gradually interacted with Luna, those cold emotions slowly faded away.
Warren said to her, "Luna, Ella and Alice couldn't reach you or Eric. They somehow got Summer's number and asked her to persuade you to apologize to them. Summer gave them a piece of her mind and recorded it. She asked me to send it to you."
Hearing Warren's words, Luna laughed in anger.
She remarked, "They're quite capable, even finding Summer's number! It must be Ethan who found it! Let them enjoy their moment tonight. I'll sort out the remaining evidence tonight and release it immediately tomorrow!"
Luna didn't mind staying in the spotlight for another night.
After all, when she took action, she wanted to leave the other party with no chance to fight back.
"Luna, if you need any help tomorrow, just let me know. I can take time off anytime." Warren suggested.
He felt a mix of emotions, because he knew Luna had a husband and was living with him.
He regretted not confessing his feelings after secretly liking her for so long.
He had planned to confess after returning from training abroad, but when he came back, she was already married.
"I can handle it for now. Focus on your work. I have to cook now. We'll talk at the office tomorrow." said Luna.
"Alright, I'd love to have your cooking again. The last time was back in school when you made pasta for me. It was the best pasta I've ever had, along with vegetable pancakes you made. They were perfect together." Warren deliberately added more to the conversation because he knew Luna's husband could hear.
Warren was speaking for Charles to hear.
He hoped Charles would take the hint and leave after a month!
Charles shouldn't be involved in Luna's life anymore. They were not meant to be together!
Luna's future would be fine with him taking care of her!
"Got it. I'll cook for you on your birthday this year. After all, I'm like a sister to you."
As soon as Luna said this, Charles chuckled mockingly, laughing at Warren's wishful thinking.
Luna saw him as a younger brother! But Warren wanted to compete with him for his wife!
