Chapter 109 Bankrupting the Brown Family
Mr. Lee's words made Luna both amused and a bit touched.
She never expected him to say something like that.
Luna felt a lot more relaxed after sending out the evidence. She took the initiative to joke, "Mr. Lee, why do you sound like one of those over-the-top CEOs? What's your next move? Bankrupting the Brown family?"
But Charles was totally lost.
'Bankrupt the Brown family? What does that even mean?' Charles wondered.
"Do I look like a CEO to you?" Charles asked, trying to stay calm.
Luna laughed. "You kinda do, but life isn't a soap opera. In reality, there aren't that many CEOs experiencing ordinary lives."
"What if I really am one?" Charles pressed on.
Luna shrugged. "If you're a CEO, then I'm a national movie star in a romance novel! Or maybe a fallen heiress!"
Charles thought to himself, 'Luna, laugh all you want! You'll regret it later!'
After hanging up, Charles tried to focus on signing some documents, but Luna's words about bankrupting the Brown family kept echoing in his mind.
He looked up and called his secretary, Clack.
"Clack, does your girlfriend read online novels and watch soap operas?"
Clack was caught off guard but nodded cautiously. "Yes, Mr. Lee, she loves CEO stories and soap operas."
Clack didn't mention the more embarrassing part: his girlfriend liked to reenact those CEO scenes with him, but she was the one pinning him against the wall.
"Then ask her what it means to bankrupt the Brown family."
Charles didn't trust Google for this one; he wanted an expert's opinion.
"Okay... I'll ask." Clack was completely bewildered.
After asking his girlfriend and explaining the meaning to Charles, Charles was in disbelief.
He regretted asking.
'What kind of nonsense is this? Business is like a battlefield! Decisions aren't made so lightly!' Charles thought.
At this moment, Mr. Lee still didn't understand what it meant to go to great lengths for a woman.
One day, he would become the epitome of a domineering CEO!
Anna didn't wake up until almost ten. Today, Ashley had a gathering, so she didn't have to get up early to impress her.
Anna finally got to sleep in.
After waking up, Anna lay in bed and started editing a post, then clicked send.
Seeing the successful post, Anna smiled with satisfaction.
She used a fake account to exaggerate the carpool incident, putting all the blame on Luna.
With so many people online criticizing Luna, she took the chance to further provoke them.
That woman had embarrassed her! And Luna helped that loser middle-aged man and the poor driver bully her! She, Anna Greene, had never suffered such a loss!
She had to get her revenge!
After posting, Anna went to freshen up happily.
Today, she didn't have to chat with Ashley. She planned to dress up and go out for coffee and afternoon tea. After all, she couldn't just hang on to Charles.
Last night, she had joined a group purchase with seven or eight friends for an afternoon tea set. It only cost fifty bucks per person, and they could sit for half an hour to take pictures. It was a great deal.
At this moment, Anna hadn't seen the evidence Luna posted. If she had, she wouldn't be caught dead posting her own story.
But by the time she found out, it was already too late.
