Chapter 152 Luna Was Injured

Danniel typically steers clear of Charles's personal life. Mostly because Charles was all about business, so there wasn't much personal stuff to meddle in.

Charles got up, poured Danniel some tea, and signaled him to go on.

"I need some advice from someone experienced, though you're still single," Charles said bluntly, almost making his uncle choke on his tea.

Danniel shot him a look that said, "If you weren't my nephew, I'd knock your head off."

After hearing Charles's brief account of his fight with Luna, Danniel got it.

"Charlie, before I testified for the driver, I did some digging into Luna's background. She grew up pampered but had to toughen up because of life."

"She ventured out on her own, adjusting as she went. Living with you, she's acutely aware that it's not her own home, but she steadfastly upholds her own principles."

"This fight probably hit her limit. Otherwise, given her personality, it wouldn't have reacted this way."

"Think about it, she's got good options. If she wanted to to be with someone, she could've done it long ago. Does she really need to be with someone like you, who's six years older and not experienced in love?"

"But shouldn't you change your attitude? Can't you be nicer? Do you have to use your business tactics on her? She's not your subordinate or a tough negotiator."

"She's genuinely trying with you, so figure it out."

Danniel waved and left after saying this.

As he walked out, he muttered, "Charlie likes Luna's character and abilities, but it's not love yet, which is why he's hesitating."

He knew Charlie well enough to know he could take advice. How much he would take in depended on his fate with Luna.

After Danniel left, Charles felt moved.

He wanted to talk to Luna, but she had blocked him.

He couldn't bring himself to go find her.

Just as he was thinking, his phone rang. Seeing an unknown number, Charles was puzzled.

This was his private number, known only to close people. Who could it be?

He hesitated but answered.

A tentative female voice spoke. "Is this Charles?"

Hearing his name, he guessed it was related to Luna, as only his family, Luna, and Eric knew it.

"Who is this?" he asked.

"Hi, I'm Summer, a friend of Luna's. Luna got hurt at work today and is in the hospital. She might need to stay overnight. Can you come over?"

Summer was calling Charles for the first time and wasn't sure about his reaction.

"Which hospital? I'll be right there."

Hearing Luna was hurt, Charles stood up, knocking over a cup.

"Central Hospital."

"What's her condition?"

Charles's voice was anxious. He didn't even notice that hearing about Luna's injury triggered an indescribable pain.

"She hit her head and is unconscious, but it's not serious. I found your number on her phone. I didn't tell Eric, afraid he couldn't handle it."

Hearing Charles's concern, Summer felt somewhat relieved.
