Chapter 31 A Chance Encounter with Anna
Harry said as he tossed his hair. Although he was young , he had slicked it with gel, giving his hair a shiny, greasy look.
Harry pestered Luna for her phone number, stretching his arm out against the wall, trying to get closer.
Luna felt like she was going to throw up. She pulled out her badge and flashed it in front of him.
"I'm a cop."
Harry's facial muscles twitched, and he instinctively took a step back to clear the way.
Luna walked forward to find Summer, but Harry chased after her for some reason.
"By the way, which precinct are you from? Do you have connections? A friend of mine is in trouble. Can you help out?"
'Also, I have a few tickets.Can you get someone to clear them for me? I won't let you help for free, and I'll treat you to... fried chicken?"
Harry struggled for a while and finally came up with fried chicken.
He claimed that people like him, who had returned from abroad, were tired of gourmet food and just wanted to eat some ordinary food.
By this time, Luna had already reached Summer.
"Summer, I have an urgent matter at home. Can you drive me back?"
"Sure! I'll take you!"
Summer had been waiting for Luna to say this. She got up and pulled her away.
The guy who had returned from abroad was still asking when they would meet again, but Summer had already pulled Luna away. Before leaving, she took out a hundred-dollar bill and left it on the table for the coffee.
Harry looked at the hundred-dollar bill and pouted in boredom.
"Luan ran away so fast, because she might have realized she couldn't help me and she felt embarrassed."
"I thought she was a rich girl, at least middle class. But it turned out that she's just a lowly cop! And she still wants to snag a rich husband? Acting all high and mighty! Does she even know her own worth?"
Harry snorted. After all, he was a white-collar worker earning thousands of dollars a month, but he couldn't even get a Facebook contact.
The overseas returnee knew that there was no future between him and Summer from her attitude. He felt indignnat inside .
"Now women are all arrogant. Summer was only twenty-two and already out dating, how good could her conditions be?"
"Although there were a few houses at her family, she even has a younger brother! In the dating market, she's at the bottom of the food chain!
Her family's houses and money will all go to her brother ! What does she have to do with it?! I'm doing her a favor by dating her!"
The returneethought that after he talked so much about his experiences abroad, Summer would be in awe of him and chase him for another date.
Who knew she would just leave like that.
"That Luna looks like a material girl, hanging out with Summer to freeload and fish for a wealthy man."
"Although Summer acted all high and mighty, I heard she studied abroad for a year. Who knows how wild she was out there! Who knows how many kids she's aborted!"
Harry chimed in with his old classmate.
Both of them felt indignant. With such good conditions, why were they not being appreciated?
At this moment, Sandra, who happened to be passing by, overheard their conversation and frowned as she dialed Charles' number.
"Sir, I saw Luna and a friend on a date with two guys at a coffee shop."
When the call connected, Sandra spoke calmly.
Sandra was originally watching the store, but Max had come to pick up Eric , so she went out to handle her own business.
Who knew she would overhear the above conversation.
Charles' grip on the phone tightened slightly, his expression remaining cold.
"Thank you, Sandra. I'll handle it."
"Mr. Lee, Luna seemed not reliable."
Sandra felt that Luna was not worthy of Charles, whether in terms of character, knowledge, ability, or family background.
She had nothing to show for herself.
If it weren't for the lucky mistake of getting the marriage license with Mr. Lee, how would she have had the chance to meet someone as outstanding as Mr. Lee?
Luckily, she didn't know Mr. Lee's true identity!
Charles hung up , looking at Luna's name in his contacts, deep in thought.
