Chapter 63 Are You Confessing to Me?

Unaware of Warren's infatuation, Luna remained oblivious to any sense of impropriety in his words.

"Really? Then tell me more about it."

Luna perked up at the mention of the case. She was about to wave Charles off when he grabbed her hand right in front of Warren.

Luna's mind went blank for a moment as Charles took the opportunity to push her into the passenger seat. He then buckled her seatbelt, seemingly considerate but actually gritting his teeth.

He patted her cheek with a smile that didn't reach his eyes and said, "It's too late. If you don't go back now, Eric will be waiting for you until dawn.“

”I have to work tomorrow, and you need to get up and make me breakfast! If you have anything to discuss, call your colleague."

With that, Charles got out of the passenger side, slammed the door shut, and gave Warren a cold, indifferent glance before getting into the driver's seat and speeding away.

Luna didn't even have time to say goodbye to Warren before the car turned the corner.

Warren stood there quietly, replaying the scene of Charles holding Luna's hand in his mind.

Weren't Luna and Charles only married because of a misunderstanding?

Didn't they agree to a peaceful divorce after a month?

Why did it seem like Charles didn't want to let Luna go?

No way! He couldn't let Luna fall for Charles's tricks!

Inside the car, Luna suddenly shook her hand as she came to her senses.

Charles noticed it out of the corner of his eye, and his expression grew colder. "What? Do you think I'm dirty?"

The moment he said it, he remembered how he had reacted even more strongly when Luna touched his hand before.

It seemed inappropriate for him to say that.

"In the future, Charles, kindly seek my consent before taking my hand! I'll overlook it this once, given that you came to fetch me.."

Luna then took a disinfectant wipe from her bag and cleaned her hand, filling the car with the smell of alcohol.

Charles's hand on the steering wheel had veins popping on the back.

He shouldn't have come to pick her up!

Charles thought that, as her husband, he should at least check on her after she was attacked.

Now, he regretted it!

"On my way here, I found out that the person who attacked you and the woman who scratched your car are siblings! They bribed the property manager to get my address."

Charles changed the subject; otherwise, he might have kicked Luna out of the car.

When Luna heard he had found out so much, she immediately looked at him warily, "Charles, I told you before that you need to gather information through legitimate means!"

Charles said, "I don't need you to tell me that!"

Seeing his serious and resolute tone, Luna felt he wasn't lying and wasn't as suspicious as before.

"We've detained the property manager. The man's name is Dianne. You previously sued his sister for scratching your car, so she got him to intimidate you."

“Moreover, since the house is solely under your name and your work status is self-employed, he had no clue about my presence there. Furthermore, he remained oblivious to my identity as a police officer. The property manager falsely informed him that you had recently purchased the house, which emboldened him further."

"But now both siblings are in custody! They can reunite in jail."

Luna shook her head with a cold smile.

Charles's face remained tense.

"Luckily, Eric is okay! Otherwise, I'd feel guilty for the rest of my life. I apologize for neglecting to inform you in advance about my report and legal action against that woman. Had I done so, you could have been better prepared.."

Charles actually acknowledged his mistake, and Luna found it incredible.

"Charles, are you confessing to me?" Luna tilted her head, waiting for his answer.
