Chapter 84 Luna & Eric Became a Trending Topic
Max was stumped by Charles's question.
Max always felt that this was a matter between the couple, and no matter what he said, it wouldn't be right.
In the end, he could only muster up the courage and say, "Mr. Lee, Ms. Brown might be upset about something else. After seeing that agreement, she misunderstood your intentions. After all, she doesn't know your identity."
Charles got even angrier after hearing this. "She's in a bad mood, so she takes it out on me?"
Max remained silent.
He would rather Luna take her anger out on him. That way, there would be no issues between her and Mr. Lee!
"You go wait for me in the car. I'll be back at Pine Valley Villas tonight."
Charles waved his hand, and Max ran off, relieved.
Charles calmed down for a moment. Before leaving, he inexplicably turned back to look at this house.
He had only been living here for a few days, but the place had changed a lot since he first came here.
There were two pots of green plants on the balcony. Luna said they were given away for free by a neighbor on the first floor who couldn't grow them. Among the lush greenery, there were tiny yellow flowers.
On the balcony, there were also Eric's easel and telescope.
In the fridge, there were wrapped dumplings, and various vegetables were washed. They were vacuum-sealed and neatly organized.
Her and Eric's belongings were also arranged tidily.
His gaze fell on the scattered bananas on the floor. His first instinct was to pick them up and put them back, but he stopped himself.
He ruminated, 'I didn't throw them! Why should I pick them up?'
The next moment, he left with big strides, slamming the door behind him.
Luna spent the night at the hospital with Eric. Since it was Saturday, she didn't have to go to work. But early in the morning, Summer called.
"Luna, have you seen the trending topic online? Damn it! I'm so pissed!" Summer was so angry she couldn't help but curse.
Luna glanced at the still-sleeping Eric, got up, and went to the hallway to take the call.
Luna said, "What trending topic?"
"Something like that happened, and you didn't tell me! It's about your aunt and grandma causing a scene at the mall, accusing you and Eric! Someone recorded a video, and now it's the top trending topic!" Summer explained.
"What?"
Luna's face changed.
She never thought that one day, an ordinary person like her would become a trending topic.
"I'll check it out and call you back."
Luna hung up on Summer and logged into TikTok. Last night's video was indeed trending.
The titles were designed to attract gossip-hungry viewers.
[Unfilial grandson deliberately injures grandmother with wheelchair! Granddaughter repays kindness with enmity and wants to take grandmother to court!]
[Unfilial granddaughter cohabits with a thug. Grandmother and aunt cry and plead in vain, only to be publicly beaten and insulted!]
[Sister with a heart of stone exploits disabled brother to make money! She keepes a gigolo on the side, completely ignoring aunt and grandmother.]
Luna took a deep breath and clicked on the titles, watching the edited video.
The video content was all about Ella and Alice tearfully accusing her and Eric, with none of their rebuttals included.
As for the scene where Ella fell, since Ella's back was to the camera, it looked like Luna had pushed her.
And the part where Eric was pushing the wheelchair to leave was clearly edited, making it seem like Eric was deliberately trying to run over Alice's foot with the wheelchair.
Luna's hand trembled as she held the phone.
Unbelievable!
With so many people in that mall and surveillance cameras, they dared to distort the facts and take things out of context!
It was eight in the morning, and the video's views had already surpassed a million. It would likely continue to spread rapidly.
Luna mused, 'Did they want to smear me and Eric? Then don't blame me for falling out with them.'
