Chapter 157 Do You Really Want to Take Advantage of Me?

Facing Luna's question, Charles blurted out, "I'm taking off your pants."

"Pervert!" Luna kicked at him.

Charles dodged but still got hit on the shoulder. He winced and stepped back.

By now, Luna had propped herself up, glaring at Charles like he was a creep.

Normally, Charles would have stormed out after getting kicked. But Luna needed help, so he couldn't just leave.

Luna had just woken up and didn't get what was happening. Most people would react the same way.

Charles got it now that he needed to see things from her perspective.

He stood up straight and calmly explained why he was doing it.

After explaining, he handed her the hospital gown. "You kicked me pretty hard, so you can definitely dress yourself."

Luna rubbed her head, finding it hard to believe this calm Charles was the same guy she knew. She pondered, 'Did he hit his head too?'

Otherwise, why was he so chill?

"I'll let you off for kicking me. Consider it payback for when I accidentally hit your foot with a chair."

Luna rolled her eyes. "How is that the same? You were taking off my pants! Can I take off yours?"

She was mad.

Charles shrugged. "Do you really want to take advantage of me?"

"Narcissist!" Luna gritted her teeth and signaled for him to leave. She could change herself.

Seeing she wasn't arguing anymore, Charles sighed in relief. After she changed, the doctor came in with some ointment.

Charles noticed the bruising on Luna's instep, especially around her toes. Some areas were almost black, a stark testament to the immense pain she must have endured.

He remembered bumping into something when he left that day but hadn't looked back. If he had known, he would've taken her to the hospital.

"Sir, here's the ointment. Apply it to her foot later. It's pretty swollen. The sooner it's treated, the better," the doctor said and left.

Luna was about to do it herself, but Charles stepped in. "I caused this, so I'll do it."

He sat by the bed, opened the ointment, and carefully applied it to her foot. He was focused and serious, with no other thoughts.

Luna, on the other hand, felt a wave of awkwardness wash over her. This was a first experience for her.

Charles finished applying the ointment in just half a minute, but for Luna, it was as if time stood still. As soon as he finished, she quickly pulled her foot back and covered it with the blanket.

"I'll do it myself next time. You didn't do it well," she said, trying to hide her discomfort.

In her vision of life, there was only her and Eric, plus a few good friends. She never thought about making room for a man.

She didn't want to date. Watching others with their boyfriends didn't make her envious.

Besides her own circumstances, her personality wasn't suited for romance. She didn't want to intrude into a man's life, nor did she need a man to intrude into hers.
