Chapter 219 It's My Duty

Luna finished reading the group messages and gave Charles a thumbs up.

But the next thing she said made Charles uncomfortable.

"Your friend Max is super efficient. He sent the video so quickly. Impressive!"

Luna had heard Charles mention that Max helped him gather a lot of information, so she assumed this was also Max's doing.

Charles' mouth twitched; he was starting to resent Max's existence.

But he couldn't explain it to Luna. It was a lie he had told, and he had to swallow it himself.

"Max did help a lot, but I deserve some credit too."

Charles cleared his throat, maintaining a serious and stoic demeanor, but his eyes looked at Luna with a desire for recognition and praise.

Luna blinked and suddenly said, "So, what reward do you want?"

Charles casually replied, "Didn't you block me on Facebook? Shouldn't you unblock me now?"

Luna was taken aback.

"That's it?" She thought Charles would ask for a big meal.

"Yes. That's it." Charles felt a bit down.

He valued her Facebook so much and wanted to be unblocked as soon as possible, but her expression showed she didn't care about it at all.

"Alright, granted."

Luna generously opened Facebook, and Charles inexplicably felt relieved.

"Don't block me for no reason in the future. What if there's an emergency?"

Charles took the opportunity to set a rule for Luna, not to block him on Facebook so easily.

It was the first time in his life he had been blocked on Facebook, and he hoped it would be the last.

"I blocked you on Facebook because you blocked my phone first." Luna argued.

Why didn't he mention his unreasonable temper?

Dominant and overbearing, whoever lived with him long-term would have a hard time.

"Didn't I leave you Facebook and not block it?" Charles lightly coughed, making Luna laugh.

"So, you're saying I should thank you for leaving me a way out?"

Charles fell silent.

Charles felt that if he continued to argue, he might get blocked again.

"No, it won't happen again."

Charles wanted to say he would cherish every moment with Luna, but he thought it would be too cheesy and might make her uncomfortable, so he held back.

From his time with Luna, she seemed cute and soft on the outside, but deep down, she was cold and resistant to emotions.

If he really wanted to be with her long-term, he couldn't rush things.

"Charles, thank you again. Let's have lobster for dinner tonight."

Luna looked at him and gave the serene and calm smile he loved to see.

Luna's smile always hit him right in the heart.

It made Charles want to step out of his comfort zone and explore the world's wonders with her.

"You are my wife. Protecting your interests is my duty." Charles tentatively said, wanting to hear Luna's reaction.

Luna was taken aback. She had always thought they would part ways in a month, so the term "wife" still felt unfamiliar and repulsive to her.

"I'm going to cook."

Luna didn't know how to respond, so she turned and went into the kitchen.

Charles felt a bit disappointed, but seeing that she wasn't as resistant as before, did it mean she was considering staying together?

The one-month deadline was approaching. It seemed he needed to put in more effort.

On Sophia's end, she had just hung up with the landlord and tearfully called Bobby.

She was crying so hard she could barely breathe, afraid that Bobby would look down on her.

"Bobby, I thought you'd never answer my calls again! The landlord wants me to move out next month... I'm about to be homeless... I don't even know why I did what I did... That wasn't the real me at that moment..."
