Chapter 99 Dig up Every Detail of Their Past

That accidental kiss left them both speechless.

It was their first time, so neither knew how to react.

Finally, Luna broke the silence.

"That was an accident. Don't think I'm taking advantage of you," Luna said honestly.

Charles stayed quiet.

Eventually, Charles carried Luna back. When they got to the door, they both quieted their steps. After Charles opened the door, Luna signaled him to check Eric's phone first.

Once they confirmed Eric had turned off his phone and was asleep, Luna finally sighed in relief.

Charles took out Eric's phone, which was filled with abusive messages, showing his number had been leaked too. Luckily, they didn't know Eric's Facebook.

"These people even go after kids! We can't let them get away with this!" Charles said angrily in a low voice.

Luna had already figured out who leaked their numbers.

Just wait one more day, and the backlash against those people would multiply.

Charles temporarily set Eric's phone to block unknown numbers and kept the evidence before deleting the messages.

After putting down Eric's phone, Charles noticed Luna's leg injury was pretty bad. He found a first aid kit to bandage her up.

Luna had already cut open her jeans. The pants were torn and could only be cut short to be worn as shorts later.

Her knee was bruised and bleeding.

"I'll disinfect it for you. It might hurt a bit, so bear with it."

Charles took out some iodine and applied it to Luna's bleeding area with a cotton swab.

"I can do it myself."

Luna felt a bit embarrassed and tried to take the iodine from him, but Charles looked serious.

"You're injured, so don't be stubborn. It's better if I do this now."

Over the past few days, Charles had somewhat understood Luna's personality. She didn't like to trouble others and believed she could endure many things on her own.

But they were now a married couple, and although he didn't know how long they would stay together, some things were no longer just her responsibility.

Charles helped Luna disinfect and apply medicine. After putting away the first aid kit and washing his hands, he turned around to find Luna already asleep on the couch.

Charles took a thick blanket and covered her. Fortunately, this time she didn't kick it off immediately.

Mainly because this time he used a very thick one, making it harder for her to kick it off.

Charles quietly returned to the bedroom and called Max.

"Check into Ella Brown and Alice Brown's situation, especially Luna's father's background! The sooner, the better."

After giving the instructions, Charles heard Max sneeze loudly on the other end.

"Got it! This is my area of expertise. I won't let you down, Mr. Lee."

"Your bonus will be doubled this month."

Charles knew Max had jumped into the fountain to avoid Luna.

In such cold weather, it was tough on him.

"Thank you, Mr. Lee." Max chuckled. With this task in his hands, he would dig up every detail of Ella and Alice's past.

The next day, when Charles woke up, Luna had already left.

There was still a note on the table. Luna had made corn pancakes and pumpkin porridge early in the morning and apologized to Charles because she couldn't host his family today due to her own matters.

Charles took a sip of the pumpkin porridge. He had thought he wouldn't like it, but after a few sips, he couldn't stop.

Charles finished a bowl of pumpkin porridge when his mother's call came in.

"Charles, is the Luna on the trending topic the one you mistakenly got a marriage certificate with?"

Ashley usually didn't pay attention to these things, but she happened to glance at the trending topic today and found the name familiar. She later confirmed it with the housekeeper.

"Mom, it's her, but I'll handle it," Charles responded calmly.

Ashley, however, was full of worry and concern. "Charles, is Luna really that kind of person?"

Ashley's impression of Luna had been mediocre, and now it had plummeted even further.
