Chapter 18 The Arrogant Woman

Sandra's attitude towards Luna was indifferent, and she wasn't particularly warm towards Eric either.

She wouldn't leave him cold or hungry, nor would she abuse him.

"I need be quiet when I paint. Don't make any more noise," Sandra warned Eric.

"No, you can't paint like that."

Eric mustered up the courage to speak, his voice halting but still clear.

Sandra looked at him in surprise, then with some disdain, "This is an oil painting! I've been painting for decades. Do you think you know better than me?"

Eric blinked, his beautiful and delicate features looking almost unreal.

At the police station, Luna hurried to meet Joah.

"Luna, this is sort of a new mission! Last time when you tailed that suspect, your quick thinking helped us uncover the theft ring behind him. This group specifically targets wealthy people!“

"We raided their hideout last time, but the mastermind is still at large. This person never shows their face and only directs from the shadows. I suspect they've already infiltrated high society in Bright City."

"This person is now targeting the safes of domesticwealthy . Ifsomeone has valuable jewelry, he is able to get the news first. This person is bold and meticulous. He might pull off a big heist and flee! We need to catch him as soon as possible!"

"There's a charity auction in Bright City tonight, and there will undoubtedly be priceless jewelry on display. That person will show up! We've narrowed down the suspects to three people. The department will arrange your identity and partner, and you need to be flexible."

Joah didn't want to miss this opportunity, fearing the mastermind might escape.

"Joah, who is my partner?" Luna asked curiously.

"Warren Blackwood."

"Is him?"

Luna's lips twitched; it was that brat.

But no, she couldn't label him as such anymore. He had risen to become an elite in the police force.

"You should be familiar with him. He specifically requested you as his partner." After introducing the mission, Joah couldn't help but gossip a bit.

Luna didn't hold back either.

"Joah, he's my college friend's younger brother! But he skipped grades in school. Even though he's two years younger than me, he graduated a year earlier."

"I've heard Warren is very capable, with an exceptional memory. He's also a sharpshooter!"

"You have no idea how rebellious he was in college."

Mentioning Warren was like talking about family for her.

She had always treated Warren like her own younger brother.

"Since you know each other well, I'll be waiting for your good news."

Joah patted her shoulder and went to make preparations.

After Joah left, Luna's phone rang, and a cheerful male voice came through.

"Luna, I'm here to pick you up, right outside the police station."

"Okay, I'll be right there."

After hanging up, Luna walked out of the police station and saw a low-key white Audi A4 parked by the side entrance.

The car door opened, and Warren, dressed in casual clothes, stepped out with a bright, warm smile.

Luna rolled her eyes at him and punched him on the shoulder.

“You came back and didn't say a word! You even specifically asked me to take on the task! I'll tell your sister and let her deal with you."

"Luna, I wanted to surprise you."

Warren was incredibly handsome and sunny, and when he looked at Luna, his eyes crinkled with a smile, filled with affection .

At that moment, across the street, bodyguard Mike got out of the car to buy something from a convenience store.

He happened to see this scene, took out his phone, snapped a few photos, and sent them to Charles.
