Chapter 15 Waiting for Her to Make a Fool of Herself
Luna took a deep breath and told herself not to get angry.
After all, she needed his help right now.
"Mr. Lee, a month can go by quickly or slowly. In order to get along harmoniously with you, I have three requests while I stay here! First, I want to bring Eric with me. If I have to go to work, can I take him to the Cafe and have Sandra look after him? I can cover the cost myself.”
“Second, we need to keep our marriage a secret for now because I haven't figured out how to tell my colleagues and friends. Third, even though it's just a one-month trial period, I don't want to take advantage of you. We'll split the household expenses."
Luna said as she took out her phone to transfer money to Charles.
"I'll transfer half of the utility and maintenance fees for the month to you . How much do these usually cost per month?"
"Your time is up!"Charles said coldly.
Juggling billion-dollar projects daily, how could he find time for utility bill calculations? His assistant typically managed such tasks, leaving him unaware of the details.
"I agree with your first two requests! Especially to keep the marriage a secret, because I don't want a wedding either! As for your brother staying here, it's just an extra set of utensils.”
“But splitting the bill is unnecessary! If I want to try living with you, I can afford to support you. I'll cover the household expenses. If you need anything, buy it, and I'll pay for it. But you need to keep track of what you buy."
Charles finished speaking and slapped a bank card onto the shoe cabinet by the entrance.
He wanted Luna to keep track of expenses because he didn't want his money spent on random things.
"I..."
"I'm going to work! The car just now belongs to the company, and I need to drive it back. I need to used it today to pick up a client."
Charles left after explaining the source of the business car, because he didn't want Luna to think he was wealthy.
"Then take back the car keys you gave me last time."
Luna caught up with Charles and forcibly handed the keys back to him.
Her fingers were warm and slender. The moment she touched his hand, Charles frowned and stepped back, shaking his hand off as if she were carrying germs.
Luna was furious and said,"Mr. Lee, you're a grown man. What do you mean by this? Are you afraid I'll take advantage of you? I just wanted to tell you that I don't need your car. It's only a twenty-minute walk to the police station, and I have a habit of running, so there is no need to use the car. As for Eric, if he needs to go to the hospital, I can call a long-term driver I've cooperated."Upon saying that, Luna quickly went back inside, slamming the door behind her.
Charles's face turned extremely sour.
This woman was rude and had a bad temper! She wasn't even a tenth as cute as her brother!
He was already regretting the one-month agreement!
If it weren't for not wanting to give Ashley another chance to push him into a second marriage, he wouldn't want to see her at all!
Charles left with a dark expression. He first drove the business car to the neighboring community, then had his bodyguard Mike Baker drive while he got into the Rolls-Royce.
The luxury car convoy smoothly headed towards the Cross-Sea Bridge.
At Charles's house, Luna settled Eric in and then wandered around the various rooms, but she didn't go into the master bedroom. Since Charles had made it clear, she wasn't one to seek trouble.
Although the townhouse was on the third floor, it had good lighting, and the high-rise buildings behind didn't block the light.
The balcony was large, connecting two bedrooms and a living room.
Luna gave the south-facing room to Eric and took the north-facing room for herself.
Although the lighting wasn't good, it was still spacious. And there were a small balcony.
Just as Luna was about to see what else the house needed, her phone started beeping incessantly. She picked it up and couldn't help but laugh in exasperation.
